This sweet little home on a beautiful pond is soooo quiet, peaceful, private and comfortable! Single level, with new, high-end furnishings. Relax (or work) in the glider, overlooking the pond, or in the screened porch huge chairs, or at pond's edge... watching the wildlife. Or stretch out in front of the 65” Google TV (bring your logins).

In 15 minutes you can be on the BEACH in Surf City; a bit further to Wrightsville Beach, restaurants, shopping - then crash in the super comfy king/queen beds.

Hampstead Cottage

We found this two bedroom home to be delightful- everything was as advertised. It was spacious for our purpose and very well equipped. After several prior negative experiences with Vrbo properties (mainly in Florida), this restored our trust in Vrbo.

So peaceful and serene

This place is as advertised! Quiet, praceful and well maintained. Clean and comfortable. The screened in porch overlooking the pond is perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a busy day sightseeing or at the beach. Especially enjoyed the short walk to Ironclad beer garden and Shaka Taco!

Came to visit my brother and his family since they moved there 2 years ago! We had a wonderful time and our rental was only 3 miles from there house! Would definitely stay there again! Rental was clean and spacious enough for our family of 3! Highly recommend!!

Quiet as advertised

Beautiful place, quiet neighborhood, gorgeous backyard, we spend a lot of time looking at nature at the pond. Perfect place!

Your host

Mary and Jim are a late in life love story that began in 2016, in Eugene, Oregon. Jim was a widower; Mary a divorcée; each had raised four children. Jim was/is a retired marine biologist; Mary was the computer teacher for a large high school for many years before retiring in 2018.

Why they chose this property

While our home is still in Oregon, we needed to spend major time in Hampstead, NC, as Jim’s daughter, husband and three very adorable children live there. Our “Hampstead Pond Paradise” is just five minutes from their home on the ICWW, and we love to spend the holidays/winter months here, as well as a few weeks in the summer, for the boys’ birthdays.
