Great Cottage
Had a great stay at this location. I Spent the weekend there while visiting family and it has everything you need for 1 or 2 people. Good location, tucked away but still close to stores and freeways. Friendly and responsive manager. Would definitely stay here again.

I would recommend this property to a couple. The description and pictures of the property were accurate and the property was very clean. The owner was very helpful in answering questions. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this location.

Minimalist Cottage in Kirkland
Cute cottage with very soft queen bed, plenty of empty storage, and efficient bath. Heaters and fans were available. Parking was right outside the door on a private lane. Outdoor light for security. We found it easier to back in to the drive as there was no room to turn around. The kitchen had full refrigerator, microwave and stove as well as a coffee pot. Accessories and dishes were limited: 2 bowls so had to wash between salads and ice cream. Only 1 kitchen towel with bleach spots and holes, but it was clean. No consumables such as plastic bags, wrap our foil. In the bath, 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth were provided for a week. Soap was 90% empty. Overall, the place had the minimum and was functional.

Kirkland visit
The cottage is very clean and a perfect base camp for other activities. It includes a kitchen (fully equipped), a bedroom -- queen bed, and a bathroom with a shower (no tub). Cottage is next to owner's home, so convenient if there were any difficulties. That said, no worries about privacy. Great find. Wireless.

Great Visit
The cottage was exactly as represented and worked very well for our needs. It is very clean and well kept. It is, as advertised small, best utilized by two people (which is what we had) but there is definitely adequate room for two. There is a nice kitchen, a delightful bedroom and bath. We had different ages staying there; two sisters in their teens and 20s, a daughter-in-law and daughter in their 50s and 30s, and a son and his son, age 13. With a larger family staying nearby, it was delightful for those to be able to get away and retreat for special time together. We met Stephan upon our arrival and he was helpful in answering any questions. We would definitely stay there again.

4/10 Poor

Forbes Lake where are you!!
Where do I begin, the write up on this rental deserves a Pulitzer Prize, however, it is the most misleading representation. Upon arrival we needed a machete to cut through the two foot high weeds that surrounded the entire property, some of which had thorns that could really cause injury! There is no lake visible from anywhere near the place, so getting a glass of wine and sitting on the deck to watch the sun set over the water is just not possible. The deck is worn, rickety and the deck chairs are terrible. Spiders and carpenter ants are the major inhabitants just outside your door! Ad states there is cable TV and wifi, however, the cable TV is very basic which allowed access to a religious channel, two government channels a news station and one channel that showed old reruns of Criminal Minds form about about 5 years ago!! The internet hardly worked. We had to be in the kitchen in order to pick up a signal. The kitchen, while nice, could use a few more pots and pans. There was a building being constructed two doors up and a lot being cleared just behind the unit so it was loud and noisy all day long. A major highway is just up the alley so traffic noise was also an issue. A previous reviewer stated the ad misrepresented the rental and I couldn't agree more. On a positive note, for the price it was adequate at best. I must now go try and get the sap off my car from the low hanging branches on an overgrown tree that hung over the parking area!

Clean But Needs Some TLC
Property was very clean but very basic. It could use some type of wall decor. No lightbulb in entry light by door which made it hard at night. Mattress could be replaced.

Loving this tiny house
Immaculate tiny house in safe quiet neighborhood. Had everything we needed [our kids had washer/dryer]. Comfy, warm, and great WiFi and t.v.. Host couldn't do anything about snowmageddon that screwed up driving, but alternative parking readily available. Excellent communication with host. WE WILL BE BACK!

Nice big city retreat!
This little house was bigger than I expected and on the end of a nice residential neighborhood. As some reviews state it is right next to homeowners house, but the only interaction I had with Stephen was when I got my ML320 stuck in his ditch and he graciously pulled me out with his pickup. Communication was great and he was very cool about my shenanigans as a at best so so driver. I liked the little home, was a bit warm, but for $18 I bought a fan. Close to everything and much less traffic than expected. Overall perfect for my needs, a great hotel alternative, and a FANTASTIC price!!! Will hopefully make it back again in the future!

Beautiful location, better than expected
The property was beautiful and in a beautiful neighborhood. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook, which is exactly what we were looking for. The bed was okay, a little lumpy, and some nights it was hard to sleep because we would hear noises that sounded like someone was trying to get into the little home. But we are alive! It may have just been the wood settling since it was pretty windy and cold and rainy. We were never cold even though the weather got to be 40 and below. Thanks to those great heaters! Definitely reccomend renting it.

Good privacy
I enjoyed that the cottage wasn't attached to the house so we had our own privacy. Address was not exact when typing it into maps so it was difficult to find at first. After that it was a nice place to live for the weekend!

Tranquil and accessible
Stayed here for over a month while transitioning to moving to Seattle full time. Neighborhood was quiet, close to walking trails and accessible to both 405 and 520 for ease of commute. Host was always accessible via text and kitchen was far better appointed than the photos indicated. Would stay again.

Interesting
Property was hard to find as there wasn't an address visible from the road. The owner's home was being remodeled so construction materials prevented us from driving up to the cottage. Would suggest that the owner provide ice trays to make ice for drinks and hand towels in the kitchen to dry dishes. Overall the cottage was clean and comfy.

Great place to stay while visiting the East Side.
This cute & cozy cottage is a great place to stay. When I return in the future, I plan on using this VRBO. I lived on the East Side years ago, so it made for a nice central location without needing to fight traffic. Kitchen was great as I was able to have a people over for breakfast. There was a selection of cooking and eating implements. Having a kitchen-ette made for a nice at-home feel for my stay. VRBO's messaging app was not working, so Stefan texted me before my flight landed; no issues with check in what-so-ever. Also, I asked for an ironing board, expecting a 1-2 day response, Stephan responded the same afternoon!

I'd do this again without hesitation
The owner Stefan, has transformed this into a cozy little hideaway. In a very nice, and also quiet neighborhood, with plenty of shops around. A car would be nice, for trips down town, but it's not a must. I managed to make it to all the districts by either bus, lightrail, walking, and uber is nice as well. Checking in and out was a breeze. Also, Stefan seems to be happy to give you info of the area. If not, again he seems more than happy to let you go your own devices. Highly recommend it

Tiny House in Kirkland, WA
Traveling alone, the space was more than adequate (1 bedroom plus eat- in kitchen for 2) for a short stay (comfortable bed!), clean, and quiet. Stefan attentive to questions I had before I left for my trip to West Coast. Only thing to be aware of is that the tiny house is down a driveway at the end of a dead end street and not clearly visible from the main road as I had arrived after dark. Stefan was accessible to help guide me, when I could not figure it out (I could not see the actual street number on one of the mailboxes either, perhaps that would have helped, tho I was comforted that "Waze" told me I had arrived! ) Happy to recommend to others!

Quiet place close to downtown Seattle
This little cottage is in Kirkland, away from the crowd and noise of downtown Seattle but so conveniently located you can reach the Space Needle in under 30 minutes without having to use a toll bridge. I would recommend it for couples who are looking for a quiet place to come back to after a long day exploring Seattle and the Sound. Possible bonus points: It's within safe walking distance of a Costco and other shopping.

About the host

I'm excited about meeting new people and creating new friendships with travelers that will stay with us.

Why they chose this property

I am at the heart of Kirkland, just 5 to 15 minutes away from the Kirkland Waterfront, Seattle and much of the surrounding area. This location offers access to all kinds of shopping experiences, outdoor experiences, culinary experiences and so much more. With the rental bordering on protected land and a small lake, we have the convenience of quick access to surrounding areas with the private feel of being out in the countryside.

What makes this property unique

I often sit on our back deck and watch the sun rise or set over Lake Forbes. Being close to shopping, downtown Kirkland, Microsoft, Seattle, and various other places is convenient, but often you need to sacrifice privacy to have these. Our rental gives the best of both worlds. We even get to see the occasional deer, and often see a variety of birds and other wildlife on our property. It is serene, peaceful and practical all in one.
