Truly a sanctuary
This was our second visit and stay at this home. Jessica is a wonderful host, we had everything we needed. It was very easy to contact her if we had any questions. There were 6 adults and 2 infants—plenty of room! The backyard garden was especially enjoyed

Well kept Gold Rush era house
This place worked great for my family and me. We were in Grass Valley for the Bluegrass festival and the owner happily made alternate check-in arrangements to accommodate our festival schedule. The whole place is really cute. The kitchen had everything we needed and honestly was stocked above and beyond most vacation rentals I've stayed at. Despite being a house from the 1800s, the house has central AC, and then each sleeping area has a modern standalone AC unit to supplement for hot summer nights. As suggested by the listing name, the owner strives for a spa-like sanctuary vibe. The upstairs bedroom has a big open area that would be perfect for some morning yoga if that's your thing. There are loads of interesting books of various subjects. A couple things to note. The double and single beds are not traditional beds per se, but rather are a wooden frame futon and a futon style fold-down couch. This was not an issue but I thought it was worth clarifying. The downstairs bathroom has a lovely large claw-foot tub which is great for baths. The tub has a handheld shower nozzle but the pressure on this was basically a drizzle (I'm assuming intentionally, to avoid the whole bathroom getting soaked). The upstairs bathroom has a shower over a half-size clawfoot tub. The shower had great pressure but it is a small space with shower curtain on 3 sides. Again, not an issue but certainly worth being aware of depending on what you are looking for out of a vacation rental.

Grass Valley Gem
We needed a quiet, repose as we assisted an ailing family member. This property was perfect for us. Jessica was warm, welcoming and available throughout our stay (for any questions we may have had). We are looking forward to visiting again, under much happier circumstances. Thank you Jessica!

Short walk to town and park
My family and I booked this house over Thanksgiving and we were pleasantly surprised. We loved the home's quirks and character. We enjoyed the 5 minute walk into town. We would definitely book this home again. Thank you for a great stay!

Pleasant Grass Valley stay
This home was the perfect setting to enjoy our family from out of state. And from the peaceful backyard table, the historic home filled with character and the quiet neighborhood, we couldn’t have asked for more.

Wonderful
My husband, son, his girlfriend and I loved this cozy Victorian. The house and property are absolutely charming. We cooked together in the well appointed kitchen, relaxed comfortably in the 2 sitting rooms and enjoyed board games and meals together in the dining area. I especially enjoyed the adorable back yard-garden space. Perfect spot for morning coffee and afternoon cheese board noshes. The beds were comfy, the house was immaculate. We also walked into town, which is quite close and very cool for shops and meals. Thank you! It was a lovely stay.

Originally from Germany, I moved to San Francisco in my 20's and lived there until 4 years ago. I work in tech and love working remotely from this sweet town of Grass Valley. Here I enjoy the amazing terrain, access to the spectacular Yuba river, local art, music and the ecstatic dance scene. The best part is that I was able to realize my dream of owning a victorian and I get to garden as much as I want!
