This place worked great for my family and me. We were in Grass Valley for the Bluegrass festival and the owner happily made alternate check-in arrangements to accommodate our festival schedule.
The whole place is really cute. The kitchen had everything we needed and honestly was stocked above and beyond most vacation rentals I've stayed at. Despite being a house from the 1800s, the house has central AC, and then each sleeping area has a modern standalone AC unit to supplement for hot summer nights. As suggested by the listing name, the owner strives for a spa-like sanctuary vibe. The upstairs bedroom has a big open area that would be perfect for some morning yoga if that's your thing. There are loads of interesting books of various subjects.
A couple things to note. The double and single beds are not traditional beds per se, but rather are a wooden frame futon and a futon style fold-down couch. This was not an issue but I thought it was worth clarifying. The downstairs bathroom has a lovely large claw-foot tub which is great for baths. The tub has a handheld shower nozzle but the pressure on this was basically a drizzle (I'm assuming intentionally, to avoid the whole bathroom getting soaked). The upstairs bathroom has a shower over a half-size clawfoot tub. The shower had great pressure but it is a small space with shower curtain on 3 sides. Again, not an issue but certainly worth being aware of depending on what you are looking for out of a vacation rental.
