Formerly a hired hand house on the farm that was here, this tiny but roomy home has been carefully restored to its original open concept with all new wiring, plumbing, insulation, windows and doors. The original floors were repaired and refinished. The large leaded glass-doored cupboard was salvaged from a house that burned, restored, and built into this house. Recently internet, wifi and netflix were installed. Carefully furnished with comfortable and practical items to make your stay here as relaxing as possible, the house is cozy and quiet. The fenced yard and the gardens insure privacy and a pleasant setting. Morning sun makes the back porch great for early coffee and sometimes wildlife watching; afternoon and evening sun makes the front porch warm and good for contemplation.

We love older homes wirh history and character, and this little cottage is brimming with charm. We were grateful to bring along our two precious pups. The space was exactly what we needed. For us, it was one base for a day in Amish country, but there are many places to visit nearby.
We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
It was a nice place for a quick getaway, 20 minute drive to Amish country, restaurants and grocery stores nearby. House in a quiet neighborhood, with fenced in backyard, perfect for medium to small dog. Host communicated often and check-in was a breeze. Would recommend to others.
We stayed 20 minutes from Amish country in a cute neighborhood. We enjoyed The Farm, where we experienced an Amish wagon ride and fed various animals with our friendly driver, Henry!! So much fun!! The fall colors were unbelievable and we couldn't have picked a better time. The variety of yummy foods and Amish snacks are worth the destination. Friendly people and cute shops made our trip!
A wonderful home away from home. Pet friendly. Ivy enjoyed your fenced back yard. A wonderful quiet home. Everything was super clean & we had everything we needed. Super friendly neighbors. Easy access. We loved our stay. Thank you
Location was great in New Philadelphia, close to Dover, Canton and other places of interest. House is small by well equipped. Both beds and the only bathroom are up stairs. Word of advice, the stairs are steep. If you have packed heavily, just know you’ll be hauling all of it upstairs.
Beds are comfy, window unit keeps the room cool. Hosts have a fan in one of the closets to help circulation.
Hosts were super at communicating. Responded fast to emails.
Traveled from Cookeville, Tennessee to see a condo in Millersburg, Ohio and prepare for road naming that will honor my father. This cottage was a perfect place for us and our small dog (who loved the fenced-in back yard). The owners granted us an early check-in and the location provided easy access to all the places we needed to go. We even had time to enjoy Downtown New Philadelphia - the Courthouse, Alley Cats, Fresh Market and even Buehler's. with Corell's chips and Great Lakes beer. A big plus in staying at this lovely cottage is being able to watch the deer graze in the field in the back of the house or come along the "road" in the back. We even watched a deer get up on its hind legs to to eat leaves out of a tree across the street while we sat on the front porch. Also, you are just a short drive from Tuscora Park - a lovely urban park.
Worked great for us to come to town and visit parents. Would let anyone with a mobility issue know that the steps are steep.

This is a pretty little 1930s 2 story property, an old farmhand's house fully renovated. Spotlessly clean, it's clear the owner has poured time and effort into maintaining its original "vibe." The stairs, however, are difficult, given narrow treads. This makes coming downstairs difficult! We had to use splay feet, or walk down sideways. Both with bad knees, this felt a bit treacherous. Rubber treads would have helped. The bathroom was upstairs, and so we struggled a bit. I found out after we left that there's a half-bath in the basement with stairs that looked much safer. Furniture was comfortable, beds were okay. It is a quaint little cottage, quiet, large fenced backyard, fields behind, rural but with many chain restaurants and supermarkets a 5-10 min drive away. The tow-path is nearby for long walks or cycling, and is oh so peaceful! We enjoyed this little property overall, but likely would only stay 1-2 nights given the stairs (and our bad knees!). It is a quiet getaway, and Jeanne is very responsive.

Very nice property in a quiet neighborhood. Lots of historical things to do nearby. The house is adorable and cozy. Will definitely return for a weekend getaway.
Good stay. Well supplied. Quiet neighborhood. Came into town for music fest at atwood park. 20 minute drive. Cute shops, good cheeseburger at Gavin’s and good coffee
Everything was exactly as described. Wonderful house that was perfect for my needs. I would definitely recommend to family or friends and will stay again. The owners were very helpful and kind.
Property was in a great neighborhood. Close to everything, and friendly neighbors. Very clean, had all the necessities. My favorite part was the history of the house.
My husband and I stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great little house with a huge backyard. Extremely friendly neighbors, good neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again.
This was a great place to stay and enjoy convenience of cute parks and close to the city of Dover. Would definitely recommend with kids as the property has a fenced in back yard. Owners would extremely nice and easy to contact.
Great little place tucked in a nice quiet neighborhood. House was outfitted with all needed, great fenced backyard. Covered back porch and front to sip morning coffee. Enjoyed the staircases and living area. Great history and write-ups of property and surrounding areas.
Stayed here while visiting family. House was perfect for the me and my husband and the location perfect as well. Close to downtown with unique shopping, especially Alley Cats, and restaurants. And just a short drive to Amish country with we really enjoyed.
