Sugar Creek Escape at Turkey Run

Beautiful home located in the heart of the best nature experiences Indiana has to offer! This home sits on 14 wooded acres a mile from Turkey Run and a ~100 yards from Sugar Creek & Cox Ford covered bridge which has a wonderful canoe/kayak pullout.

The Amish built home includes panoramic nature views and luxury accommodations such as high end kitchen appliances, full washer / dryer, 3 queen size beds plus a queen futon and extra cots for additional sleepers, master bath with jetted tub, billiards room, walk out basement, back deck and patio with fire pit. Cable TV and high speed internet isn't available but you won't need it with all the local activities and board games, video games, DVD players, etc provided with the home. A Verizon hot spot will be provided for light internet usage.

A Turkey Run pass is included. Turkey Run has exceptional hiking, a large pool in summer and a great nature center. Shades State Park is a close 10 minute drive.

Sugar Creek is a phenomenal river great for kayaking, fishing and wildlife viewing. Several outfitters very close by offer different canoe/kayak/tubing trips (would recommend booking in advance.)

Rockville is a 10 minute drive and offers groceries and good dining. There are many other activities in the area we can suggest and of course the annual Covered Bridge festival.

Sisters Trip

5 sisters had a girls trip and this place was perfect. The grounds were very peaceful and birds were very active . We enjoyed the vinyl records, billiards room, and fire pit the most. We will definitely be returning to this home . The location near Turkey Run State Park and the covered bridges in the area was perfect. Thanks again!

Idyllic woodland paradise

My husband n I w our 4-30ish year old "kids" had a wonderful 2 day stay. Our extended family has visited turkey run from Chicago for years, including my parents in the 1930's. We have always stayed at the lodge, cabins, or camped but after staying here this weekend we all agree that this is the only place we want to stay and plan to make this as an annual event. My husband is disabled n although the home is not totally handicapped accessible there are very few stairs that need to be navigated n all rooms are very spacious n uncluttered. Plus it is super clean, well stocked, n absolutely gorgeous. We all enjoyed playing pool, the arcade game, fire pit, n playing records. If you are a gardener you will love exploring the many diverse naturalized gardens. I wish I'd had more time to fully explore them. Also every one of us commented on how comfortable the mattresses n pillows were. Anyway, we all recommend this beautiful rental very highly.

Peaceful retreat

We stayed here w/our adult children, their spouses & our baby granddaughter. The location is quiet & convenient, w/Turkey Run State Park just down the road. The house has plenty of space, gorgeous woodwork, & lots of windows to see the beautiful grounds. The pool table is a nice touch, as is the fire pit. The owner is very responsive & helpful. Amazing place to stay!

The pictures don't do it justice. You are as in the woods as you can be, but the house is far from rustic. It is comfy, clean, and there is plenty of room to spread out. We actually used very little of the spaces provided because we were outside most of the trip. There are plenty of linens provided, the bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the check in and out instructions are clear. We would love to stay again!

Sugar Creek Wonderful Escape

Wonderful house and property. Perfect location for hiking at Turkey Run/Shades State Parks and Sugar creek tubing. Sugar Creek Love and Pampering

We stayed at this pretty home over the 4th of July, there were 3 generations of us who stayed in the home. Unfortunately, there was a power outage and one of the large maple trees got struck by lightning a couple nights prior to our stay. But the owner Clint kept us very informed of all of this and was concerned about our safety as more bad storms were predicted to come through. Thankfully, none were bad and we were able to enjoy our stay without losing power. This place has comfortable bedding, loads of games on sight, like pool, foosball, board games, and a nice selection of DVDs for family movie night. We made use of the fire pit area for smores, we laughed around the dining table playing card games. Our dog even found a comfortable place to rest in the lower level small basement area. I can't rate this place highly enough, everything was so wonderful from the communication with Clint prior to the trip, to our final day there. You will not find a more well appointed kitchen in any other VRBO. They even allow you a day pass to Turkey Run SP so you don't have to pay at the gate to hike. Just wonderful, hope to be back some day!

Turkey Run State Park

My multi-generational family really enjoyed this trip. We were able to walk to a covered bridge which my husband had never seen. We hiked a lot of the trails and the turkey run state park and we’re really impressed with them. A good person in my family expected to see nothing but corn farms in Indiana but the natural landforms were amazing and it was nothing like what we expected. The house was so nice that if I ever came back, I wouldn’t stay in the state park. I would choose to stay here. Animals came to visit us every day. They were bird books so that we could identify the birds and a lot of hiking just around where we were at. Thank you for hosting us and responding to each question so quickly

Gorgeous woodwork and woods

Adult family members gathering. Beautiful woodwork inside and nice woodsy setting outside. Lots of room. Clint reached out proactively to answer any of our questions. Fun evening enjoying s'mores at the fire pit. Great location to go out from to explore many covered bridges in the area.
