Nestled in a prime location, our home offers easy access to downtown shops, restaurants, and the scenic waterfront park, where you can soak in the beauty of the Lowcountry. Whether you're in town for a graduation at Parris Island, a family vacation, or simply seeking a peaceful getaway, our spacious and pet-friendly home provides the perfect base for your adventures.

Please note that our home is pet-friendly, with a pet fee of $75 for one pet and $25 for each additional. Simply add your four-legged companions to your reservation when booking.

The shared bathroom features a tub/shower combo and double sinks, providing convenience for larger groups.

Outside, our sprawling back deck beckons you to relax and unwind amidst the beauty of nature. Fire up the BBQ grill for a cookout, gather around the fire pit for s'mores under the stars, or simply bask in the sunshine while the kids and dogs play in the fenced-in backyard.

Enjoyed our stay

Megan has a wonderful place which was just right for our family to stay while visiting with more family for a cousin’s high school graduation. The house is close to downtown Beaufort and had everything we needed. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard

In town for a wedding.

The property is just as it shows, clean, updated, and enough space for a family or several couples. It has a large back yard and the opportunity to bike ride or cook on the grill is right at your finger tips. The bedrooms have fresh new linens, pillows and luggage racks in all the rooms. We communicated several times with the owner and we can’t say enough good things about those communication experiences. If you are looking to stay in Beaufort for any length of time we highly recommend staying here.

Great Stay!

This place was perfect for the needs of my family. The number of bedrooms was great and the way the house was spread out made it possible to have a girl side and a boy side. 😂 The backyard was perfect for the dogs. The location is great. Depending on your physical fitness, it might be too far to walk to downtown, but the Spanish Moss Trail is really close. We are looking forward to staying here again!!

Clean and cozy

I was very pleased with how clean it was. Good set up for people with dogs. Fenced in back yard. Scratch resistant flooring (we brought a couple slip resistant rugs for our older dogs). Washer /dryer. Even saw crates for dogs if you need it. Very thoughtful. Host responds right away to questions. Very cozy.

Great Beaufort Stay

Our family gathering was for a funeral but the accommodations allowed for us to be together under one roof. Home was very comfortable, neighborhood quiet and we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit out back.

Thanksgiving Gathering.

This house worked perfectly for us. Plenty of room. TVs for Thanksgiving football weekend. Great yard for our dogs and a perfect mud room entry. Clean and well laid out. Location to town and Spanish Moss Trail - great. Weather was nice so we could all sit at the table on the back deck for dinner. Hope to visit again.

Cozy Cottage

The house is warm and inviting. The decor is modern and accommodating. The cleanliness is top notch and the hosts stocked the kitchen and bath with all the necessities. The locaton is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of downtown. We had a wonderful stay!

Book Burroughs Stay 9-2023

Recently, my family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Book-Burroughs rental in Beaufort, South Carolina. Overall, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable and cozy vacation rental. The location was perfect for our needs since it was close to downtown and the beach, but at the same time, far enough away to provide a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, and the property was well-maintained and clean. The amenities were excellent. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals, and the living room was spacious enough for all of us, four adults and four kids, to enjoy. We had a great game night with the board games provided, and the kids had a blast riding the bikes in the neighborhood that the owner kindly let us use. The bedrooms were cozy, and the beds were comfortable, which was a huge plus for us. One thing that truly impressed me was the communication from the host, Megan. She was always quick to respond to any inquiries we had and provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out. It made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a fantastic vacation rental.

Beautiful property perfectly located for USMC grad or for any reason you are in the Beaufort area

We were in town for graduation at Parris Island and made a vacation out of it. Perfect location, close to a beautiful downtown and access to one of the most amazing beaches we have been to. Megan, the host, was attentive and quick to respond to inquiries. The yard is large and we made s’mores in the fire pit. The teenagers rode the bikes and explored. The kitchen was perfect for preparing all the food my Marine wanted on family day. The living area was comfortable for us all to hang out and play some board games. As a pretty experienced consumer of short term rentals for travel, this is one of the best we have stayed in. I cannot recommend it enough.

Visiting Family in Beaufort

We were visiting family that has been in Beaufort for about a year and were looking for a home that was family and pet friendly. Megan's home is in a quiet section of Beaufort and it has been upgraded very well to accommodate a larger family, we had seven people and one dog. We arrived around noon and Megan allowed us to enter before the stated 4:00 p.m. check-in time. Her home is also very close to the Spanish Moss Trail which we enjoyed hiking and biking and the fenced in back yard was a big plus with the dog. We highly recommend a stay at Book Burroughs if you are visiting Beaufort.

Celebrating new Parris Island, MCRD Marine

Our family came together from Destin, FL and Saint Louis, MO to celebrate a new Marine. Everyone enjoyed the home accommodations and we were close to everything in Beaufort. The property and the owner were great. First time doing this and it could not have been easier. Great location if you are going for MCRB graduations. Beds were comfortable and there is plenty of room to relax. We had 3 senior citizens with us and they were very comfortable

10 STARS! MCRD graduation stay

From the time we booked the house, Megan was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and helpful with ANY questions about the house. This home is even better than pictured. The street is quiet, but close to everything. We were able to walk downtown, get to grocery stores easily, and be a short 15-20 min ride to the main gate at PI. There was plenty of room, tasteful decor, and lots of extras- games to play with family, bikes to ride, a pass to the beach- just incredible. The personal attention from the host is unmatched, and makes the experience that much better! Thank you Megan for the best possible trip!

Very happy

This house was great. It fit my whole family perfectly. No one was on top of anyone. Everything was clean and user friendly. I lived that there was a king bed. Not all rooms have tvs though. Plumbing was an issue but I'm sure that will be fixed promptly. We loved it and would stay there again.

I love this home and lived in it for years while stationed here with the Marine Corps. I'm an active duty Marine and prior Drill Instructor that's been in Beaufort since 2014. I love Beaufort and can answer most questions about the local and surrounding areas.

Our pet-friendly and beautifully decorated home is less than 2 miles from downtown and only 15 minutes from Parris Island. You'll love grilling on the back deck, or relaxing around the fire pit while the kids and dogs run and play in the fenced-in backyard. With plenty of space and all the comforts of home, this is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a long day exploring the gorgeous low country sights.

What makes this property unique

The house is close to everything Beaufort has to offer, we allow pets (with some requirements), have enough space for large groups with driveway parking for 3 vehicles. There are bikes provides to ride along the water front or down the Spanish Moss trail. With a large back deck, outdoor dinning table, a large yard and a firepit this is the perfect place to spend a relaxing night in too.
