Weekend getaway

We were here for a college visit and made a nice weekend out of it. It’s not far from ISU campus and being on the golf course was a bonus. The great neighborhood, perfect weather, and wonderful location in a lovely home made for a great weekend away!

Great Stay

Have already recommended this rental to friends who will be traveling to Boone in July. Great home for a large crowd! Super clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

Great place for a large group

We flew in for a wedding in Boone and this place was a great place for the 12 of us. Four beds plus 3 air mattresses gave us all a comfy place to sleep. We had friends and more family over for dinner one night and were able to seat 16 at the 2 tables and kitchen bar top. All of us enjoyed amazing sunsets sitting on the couch around the fire pit on the back patio. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to this area!

Wedding Weekend

Very spacious, plenty of bathrooms to accommodate our family of 12. Extra area for all our cars that traveled. We enjoyed the end of our very long day sitting on the deck with a fire. Thank you!

Nice location for Iowa Sate Game!

We had 4 couples that stayed at this home for the Iowa State game. The house accommodated all of us with enough bedrooms and common space for us to sit around and visit. Big sofa and lots of chairs. The house could use some love for sure, but otherwise fit the bill for what we needed.

Great place for ISU graduation weekend

This is a perfect home for a family gathering for Iowa State graduation or football weekends. Plenty of space to spread out and areas to gather and have fun. It's only about 18 minutes to campus! Highly recommend.

Boone getaway!

Spent the weekend riding the rails and tubing down the river. The house was a perfect location for these activities. Had 4 couples and the house was set up nice so we could all hang out and visit. Communication with the owner was easy when a question came up. If you’re looking for a place in Boone for a big group this house does the trick.

Ideal for larger gathering

Enjoyed the size of the house and pool table. Kitchen furnishings could be improved. Most of it was plastic and pans were heavily worn. Would stay here again.

Bachelor party.

We brought a group of 8 for a bachelor party and this place was perfect for us. We slept everybody in the rooms, couches, and air mattresses. We really enjoyed the pool table and the outdoor deck was a hit. This place is a 10/10.

Really enjoyed it.

This house was great for a family get together. We had 10 stay overnight and 16 for most meals. The open floorplan allowed everyone to spend time together. The host was very responsive to questions before and during our stay. We almost didn't spend enough time there and didn't even try out the pool table.

Clean and comfortable.

The house was very clean. All the spaces are comfortable and met all of our needs. The owner was very good with communication and very accommodating to us. The only negative…..and we have found this to be the case at most VRBO houses we have rented….was that the outdoor grill had not been cleaned in quite a while. We spent a lot of time cleaning it. Otherwise everything else was excellent.

Great stay for the Railcars!!!

Josh's home was absolutely perfect for our stay and it was in a beautiful neighborhood! The home was spacious, clean, comfortable, and we spent much of our time on the deck that overlooks the golf course. We had 12 adults and we fit perfectly. Our purpose for coming to Boone was to ride the rail cars and we were only about 10 minutes from the train station. We had looked into hotels before looking on VRBO. We would have spent more at a hotel and been stuck in small rooms but instead we were lucky enough to find Josh's home. We saved money and had a much better trip than what we would have had if we had gotten a hotel. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay Josh! We hope to come back again and bring the kids next time! :)

Amazing Family Vacation in Boone

My family and I stayed at Josh’s house in Boone for the weekend to watch my nephew finish out his lacrosse career at Iowa St. the house was perfect for all 10 of us. There was plenty of space in the house and the outside deck was amazing. The furniture was very comfortable and very relaxing. Josh was easy to communicate with and got back to me within minutes. The only recommendation I would have is to put a keypad entry on the front door so we didn’t have to use the garage openers to get in and out. Of course this is just my opinion and had no affect on our stay. I would definitely recommend his house and Josh!!

Great group stay near Ames

Stayed here for Thanksgiving with extended family. Has good gathering space for a large group and plenty of space for all to sleep. Two large TVs in the living room was a surprise, but turned out great for watching football and the World Cup at the same time :).

Some unrealized potential

This house & property checks a lot of boxes. It has lots of room & is in decent condition. Our group of seniors had a few relatively minor issues. We were cooking some meals, & the kitchen is not stocked particularly well with regard to tableware & utensils, bowls, tools, etc. or basic supplies. We could not access the premium tv channels, the U Tube tv would disappear at times due to too many screens being used, & we found the thermostat tricky at times. We could have used better & more thorough instructions, including for the fireplace. Linens were mediocre, basement dehumidifier didn’t work, & decor was non-existent or forgettable. We needed more dining room chairs & used stools instead. The outdoor deck looked nice, but we didn’t use it due to cold weather. There was no trash or recycling bin until we retrieved one from a1/2 block away. Not sure about the neighbors, but there were parties nearby both Friday & Saturday nights. Next door there are 2 barking dogs. Notwithstanding, we had a great time, & I can imagine other groups being oblivious to or not caring about many of these issues.
