Our cabin was formerly part of the "Whispering Woods Cottages", a family-owned and managed property from 1991 until 2020 when we purchased the first of four cabins offered for sale as single-family properties. Two other cabins on site are short-term rentals as well. If you have a larger group, there may be availability to rent as many as 3 cabins (comfortably sleeping 18). Our property is located 17 mi. west of downtown Minocqua and South of Hwy. 70. If fishing is your thing, Squaw (now Amber) Lake is a 736-acre Class A Muskie Lake also offering up walleye, blue gill, and crappie: only steps to the lake to set up your portable ice fishing shanty for year round fish fries, or for accessing the many biking or snowmobile trails in the area. Our cabin is 75' from a level lakeshore where you have the use of a shared pier with electricity, sandy beach and campfire pit. We hope the year-round relaxed environment will help you unwind, relax and reconnect.
There is a public boat landing a mile away and plenty of room on the property to park your trailer. We are 15 mi. from Lake of the Torches Casino, 17 mi. from the Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari, and 17 mi. from the Winter Park Recreation area. The neighboring communities of Arbor Vitae, Woodruff, Hazelhurst and Tomahawk offer a variety of things to do: Northwoods Zipline, Aerial Trek, Argo ATV & Kayak River Adventures; Northwoods Children's Museum; and the Northwoods Wildlife Center. Mini-golf and horseback riding at Holiday Acres and the Min-Aqua Bats water ski shows are popular attractions in Minocqua during the summer months. There are numerous hiking and biking trails in the area: the Hiawatha Trail and Bearskin State Trail are favorites.
NOTE: Due to Covid, guests must provide their own linens (sheets, pillowcases, bathroom towels and washcloths, kitchen towels and dishrags.)
