Property was clean and fit our family needs for the holiday. The setting was beautiful, out in the country but still close enough to everything we needed. Walking and hiking trails were located across the road from us. We had an issue with the oven but the manager was quick to reply to our message. We would return for another stay.
Quiet, clean, spacious, comfy beds, disposable silverware, gorgeous view, no neighbors in sight, close to town, extra of everything we needed (towels, sheets, blankets, etc.) We hosted three generations here for a college graduation in town, and had a wonderful time. Everyone slept well! We would come again!
There was some disappointment with the condition of the house, relative to the price we paid. It's somewhat beat up, but everything worked fine. One mattress was essentially unusable...very hammock-like. Gray paint and black-out curtains meant the interior was gloomy. But there was plenty of hot water, and the kitchen is well equipped.
This house was a great place for two families to stay together. Peaceful, scenic locale coupled with a short drive to the city made it perfect for us. I appreciated the number of bedrooms. It made our stay very comfortable.
The home had plenty of space for our family and the location had a fantastic view. The owner was very responsive and provided clear instructions with access as well as amenities.
Great space for a group of 6-10 people. Close to Dubuque and surrounded by parks (one across the street!) 3 kings, a set of bunk beds, and a full mattress make space for everyone. Kitchen has a double oven and is well appointed. Nice porch with a great view of nature. Older guests should know that the two largest bedrooms are downstairs and require navigating stairs. 2 bathrooms, upstairs and down. No broadcast tv, but many streaming services made available. Fast wifi. Upstairs bedrooms warm and stuffy, but during record heat. Front stairs need work. Overall, a nice stay for our family.
Excellent location and accommodations for larger group
We thoroughly enjoyed this home while we were in town for a family reunion. It accommodated a large group with adults and children and had everything we needed for a great weekend. The home was clean, updated and worked well for our group with ages ranging from 70 to 4. We enjoyed a hike at the nature center across the street. Communication with hosts prior to our stay was very positive as well. We would stay again if available for our next trip.
What a lovely home in such a beautiful setting. We came to stay for our family holiday celebration in Dubuque. Everything was well maintained, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of amenities that were all in good working order! Appreciated the combo coffee/keurig maker especially. Check-in was easy with keys in the lock box and a garage code for the two car heated (!) garage. Very thankful we could park in there as it was snowy and cold. As for the bedrooms, the black out curtains were a really nice touch and the kids loved the bunk beds. The two kings beds were on the firm side, just an FYI. We took a hike down in Swiss Valley and the kids loved playing the snow - made the laundry machines very much needed and thank you for supplying detergent. Wifi managed to keep up with 5 kids running iPads and adults on their phones in the morning. And lastly, having the home decorated for Christmas just brought such a smile to our face when we walked in. It was the welcome cozy we needed as a family! Overall, cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you!
This was a lovely spot for a country feel, yet close to Dubuque. It's across the road from a nature reserve with lots of trails. The home was exactly as advertised and very comfortable.
Aaron was easy to work with and very accommodating of our varying travel plans.
The home was well maintained, spacious and quite comfortable.
All in our party expressed an interest in my saving the Vrbo listing for future trips to visit our family in Iowa.
Out in the country but close to everything. Picturesque setting. Fire pit, lots of chairs and yard games. Spacious house and huge beds to sleep in. Very clean and convenient
Our family stayed here for the weekend while coming to Dubuque to visit family and attend a golf outing. Plenty of space for all of us, which included our adult children and grand babies. We did make breakfast one of the mornings and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The only problem we encountered was trying to get the coffee maker to brew a whole pot of coffee. We all had a go of trying to get it switched from 4 cups to 14, but with no luck...lol. We enjoyed watching the many turkeys in the yard both mornings. Nice place with a great view!!
This home was recently renovated and matches the photos. We had a great time enjoying the yard on our first night, we played bocce ball and enjoyed a small bonfire. The property is secluded from neighbors and very peaceful. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room in the kitchen to fit all 8 of us while eating and playing cards.
