After splashing and playing in the pool, pass the afternoon in the recreation room with a pool table, an arcade cabinet, a TV, and a kitchenette. Share snacks on the furnished decks or have a poolside barbecue using the Weber grill.

There are tons of other great amenities at Castle in the Sand. This beautiful oceanfront home offers stunning views of the ocean and the sound from the furnished observation deck. The great room features comfortable furnishings and the large kitchen allows you to easily prepare delicious meals to be enjoyed at the dining table or the kitchen bar.

Beautiful home!

The house was very comfortable and clean! With a dog, having the top- and middle-level decks blocked off was very convenient. The boardwalk to the beach and paths around the house were well maintained and made it easy to get around. Would definitely stay here again on a future visit!

Great house!

A home away from home!

A very comfortable home with a terrific location and beautiful views! The pool area was great for gathering with our family and friends and we even set up corn hole several nights. The kitchen was well stocked and the appliances appeared fairly new and very nice!

Castle in the sand

The house is absolutely amazing! The views are fantastic, from several windows and decks! This location is also very convenient, grocery store, ace, dollar tree, several restaurants close by. Love the pool and hot tub. House has great floor plan and very spacious with terrific views!! Great time had by all, my wish is you get to stay here!

Cramped oceanfront living

Our stay at Castle in the Sand was great. The views were breathtaking. The house was not at spacious as the pics lead you to believe. It is unnecessarily cramped with very large furniture. The house has a pool, but found out once arriving we would only be able to use it for 2 days then it would be closed. Calls were made about issues with the house such as ice maker not working, faucet in kitchen broken, locks missing on doors. Someone came and took pics on our second day, but nothing was ever fixed. All in all it was a great 2 weeks, but the house is not worth the price.

Castle in the Sands House

The house and location was absolutely breathtaking. We could not get enough of the view. The size of the house fit out family well for 6 adults and 1 teen ager. We did do a lot of cleaning to the place. First of all, in the main bedroom, the sheets were soiled and bed spread as they had dog hair on them. We did notify the office and new sheets and spread were sent over. We had to make the bed. Also, in that bedroom the carpet was not vacuumed for a while so my son vacuumed the carpet 5 times till almost all dirt and dog hair was removed.. As for the rest of the floors we did run the vacuum over them. Toilets and sinks were dirty. I purchased a cheep toilet brush from the Doller General and when toilets were brushed there was filthy dirt up under the rim of the toilets. And the bathroom sinks had filth up under the top rims also. Upon checking the kitchen sink, that had filth over the whole sink and was cleaned before we dare do any dishes. And the refrigerator handles were sticky. We ended up purchasing a new sink drainer (for about $5.00) as the one in the sink was broken. I would hate to see what water would look like if the floors were mopped. (we did not mop) We ended up leaving the house a lot cleaner than we found it. (and we did pay a cleaning fee). There was not an ample supply of toilet paper, paper towels and tissues supplied.

Castle in the Sand 453 - off season review

Pros - the management company was very professional, helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend and will return. The home was very clean. Everything we needed was there and easy to find. Grocery store was in walking distance. Beach was very clean, we hardly saw other people on the beach the entire week. Firepit on the beach was awesome experience. Seashells galore if you are into shelling. Bedrooms were comfortable, we all slept well. Killer sunrise. Cons - none of the gaming on the bottom floor works (slot machine, arcade machine, or pool table) when a leg is broken on a table and it's not level, you can't play. The pool is closed, hot tub was great but needed cut off instructions weren't included, so it ran non stop. The elevator is great, but it too needed instructions. It won't work unless all doors are completely closed. There are no street lights, so around 5 pm it was pitch black out walking my dog. Flashlight would be handy. Fishing seemed slow bc the cool Temps. Wifi speed was way slower then what we are accustomed too. Other then that, we will be back. This home and location were great.

Great house. Poorly managed

Fabulous location. Kitchen not up to par for a house of this level. (Broken pits, not enough table knives, no blender). No master en suite bathroom which made it a bit awkward with other families in the house. Too much old style furniture around dining table made it really difficult to actually get around the table. Now if you can get past all this, the house is in a perfect location with amazing views and beach access. Which is after all why we came. But I think there are better managed homes.

All about the location

Pros: great beach (quiet and recently replenished), nice neighborhood, plenty of air conditioning, well stocked kitchen, hot tub was good with all jets working, best Wi-Fi we’ve ever had on OBX, good towels, washer and dryer were great, pool table good with plenty of room around it. Cons: pool was leaking so they told us to continuously feed water into it which made it too cold to use (no attempt to fix it), floors were dirty, kitchen was dirty, the only clean thing on the beds were the sheets so wash the comforter/bedspread and mattress cover when you get there (trust me I wish I had known this before the last day when we stripped the bed), grill was not usable, neighbors are very close, dining room was so small you could not get around the table and there were not enough chairs (including the bar) for our family of 12 anyways, game room pool table worked but none of the other games did (video game and slot machine), all but one of the bedrooms were very small. They left tubs of dirty linen and towels on our porch for days before someone picked them up All in all this house was small and dirty but in a great location. I don’t think I will stay here again.

Nice house

Nice house, had all we needed. Pros - Great pool & hot tub. Beach access is fantastic and good views of ocean. Cons - no view of soundside sunsets, needs new frying pans. Be careful of pool table - leg is broken and it can fall if moved, we learned the hard way.
