Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Outer Banks from the comfort of this spacious vacation rental under new ownership.

The beautiful kitchen, with stainless steel appliances and a new dishwasher (September 2023), overlooks St. Waves Lake, offering an excellent view while you prepare meals on the custom concrete countertops. Serve up snacks at the large center island breakfast bar while engaging in light conversation or watching your favorite TV shows from the entertainment area that has a brand-new sectional couch with a large ottoman (September 2023).

Cool off after a day in the sun with newly installed central air-conditioning on both levels (May 2023) and keep your laundry fresh with the newly installed washing machine and dryer (October 2023).

Enjoy cooking out with the provided gas grill and chilling at the tiki bar, both located at ground level below the house. Use the outdoor enclosed shower to rinse off after a day at the beach. There is also a bonus bedding arrangement in the day room for additional sleeping space; the trundle bed can be expanded into a king bed to maximize sleeping space.

The natural cottage elements maximize the open living space by brightening the rooms through natural light and modern fixtures. The upper-level open floor plan hosts the kitchen, dining, and entertainment areas that open to a spacious 16’ x 22’ wooden deck offering a spectacular view of the natural wetland and breathtaking sunsets enjoyed from the comfort of Adirondack chairs with table (May 2023).

The walkway to the beach from this Salvo retreat is just a few minutes' stroll on a wooden path guiding you down a magical tunnel of trees that open to the wind-swept dunes leading you to the beautiful sand and surf.

Enjoy an evening on the beach sitting by a small campfire. Burn permits may be procured at the Blue Whale Gas and Bait Shop located ½ mile south on Route 12 at no cost.

During your stay, be sure to experience excellent views of the shoreline from Rodanthe Pier Place, spend the day at Salvo Day-Use Area, and take advantage of the area's fishing. For a fascinating look into the past, visit the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site.

You'll say “Sea La Vie” to your worries and woes at Sea La Vie Salvo 775.

Perfect!
Beautiful place! We enjoyed the deck and the fenced in yard for dog. The house has been beautifully updated and it’s very close to the beach and some stores. Would definitely stay again!

VaCasa was the issue
I didn't realize when I booked this property in January that I would be dealing with VaCasa. Unfortunately this is something that is going to be more common place in the future. VaCasa sent me an email with a door code, then they sent me a text with a different door code. I figured the one texted was correct, didn't matter, because none of the codes worked. The VaCasa number from the text and email is not the local office. They had to call the local office, and then told me to go check in at the local office, which was closed. It's after 7:00 at night...finally got in touch with a local agent, the lock had to get a new code, but the lock itself was "funny", once you heard the lock spin, you had to do a "push and pull" thing to get the door to open. The upstairs TV had no batteries in the remote, and was held together with scotch tape. The outside lights didn't work (no batteries or light bulbs in the house to fix ourselves). Thankfully my husband is a TV nerd and had his laptop with him, because that's how we watched TV upstairs, with an HDMI cable and his laptop. I texted the number that sent me the door code, they said they would contact the local office...they never did, so this is how we watched TV while we were there, and we used our cellphone flashlights to get into the house at night. I thought the dishes left in the dishwasher were dirty, but they were "clean", just cheap detergent. I ran it again, and they didn't get clean, I had to wash the dishes by hand

Pretty good
Location and space was great. We enjoyed the deck and fenced in yard for our pup. Plenty of space for everyone. Giving it 3 stars because the house was not very clean and even though we qualified for a Gearvak credit after contacting the office twice we were unsuccessful on getting any gear for our trip.

Great home, logistics need a little help
Summary, read on for details: the home is nice and I would recommend the home to others, but you'll have to ignore the fact that you are paying other people to manage the booking and cleaning of the property and you'll have to deal with logistics on your own and probably have to clean the house yourself to feel settled in. Details: Once settled in, the home is very nice. The house has a nice, open layout that makes spending time with your family easy. The second story deck is fantastic for both privacy from neighbors (the house in on stilts, so the deck is really 3.5 stories up) and enjoying time outside. The couch and love seat are starting to show their wear, but that is expected. The house is a very easy walk to the beach and is on a very nice and quiet street. And the outside shower is absolutely amazing. Just be aware that people walking up the stairs to get into the house can see into the shower. However, logistics were a problem. We received emails and text messages with different instructions than what was in the Vacasa app so there was frequently an issue with uncertainty of what you should do. We called Vacasa to get a blanket because one wasn't provided for one of the beds and they refused to provide us one saying we could only ask for a blanket at check in. We ended up going into the local office of the realty company that runs the property and it made our experience much better. To credit of the local realty company, he was very helpful and was visibly annoyed with how Vacasa handles customer service. Cleaning and preparation for our arrival left much to be desired. Garbage day is Tuesday and Friday. When we arrived on Saturday, all three garbage cans available to the house were overflowing with garbage. Not only was there no place for us to put our daily garbage (a family of 6 produces garbage) but the one can did not have a lid so every day we we had to go out and clean up garbage from an animal that would go through the can at night. Then the can was knocked over during the night on Monday so the garbage truck didn't take any of the garbage from that can. Seems it would have been better for at least one can to be emptied for us for our arrival. Indoor cleaning left details unchecked. There was soap dried on the shower rack in the shower and we filled up the vacuum canister twice after arriving to either sand or salt on the floor. We were greeted by a home that appeared clean and smelled fantastic but quickly it felt like stuff was just sprayed in the air and no real attention was given to cleaning the home. We received multiple communications that while check in was at 6pm, we may not be able to get into the property at that time if it's not done being cleaned. When we arrived at 6:30, it looked as though the house had been done for a while but it was clearly not clean.

Interior very nice
The interior looked exactly like the pictures. The exterior is much different. When we arrived the grass was overgrown and there is no swing set as pictured.

Updated Nostalgia
Perfect getaway for us, some friends, and our dogs for a long weekend! My family built this house in 1984, and I spent at least one week a year coming here from the time I was born until 2015 when we sold the house. Needless to say, when we found it on Vrbo, we had to book a stay. The updates made to the home make it feel welcoming while still honoring its original charm. In many ways, it feels like I never left. The upstairs still smells like fresh cedar, and the bedrooms downstairs are cozy and comfortable. Also love that they fenced in the front yard, so our pups have a place to run around and play off leash. We'll definitely be back!

Sea La Vie Salvo
Nice renovated home and a quiet street with a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed the big kitchen and island for cooking and catching up with friends and the porch in the mornings and evenings. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Experience
The house was clean upon arrival. House looked like it was brand new and all plumbing, lighting, and appliances were fully functional. It only took 5 minute to walk to the beach. There were a ton of fun things to do in biking distance. We had 4 people and 4 dogs staying and never left cramped. We will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone looking to vacation in OBX.

Great Home with Great Location
We loved our stay at Sea La Vie! We got off to a rough start as we arrived late at night, and the address took us to Wimble Shores North, not Drive. Once we found the correct house, got in and settled after a long drive, we realized we had no linens on the bed or towels in the house :( The next morning, after being on hold for quite some time, I was issued a ticket to a local management company, and soon connected with Linda. Linda was super friendly and came by immediately with towels and linens. The same thing happened with the outdoor shower (water not turned on) and the internet network / password information being incorrect - once I got off hold, tickets issued, etc., the local folks were terrific and very quick to come help, and all so very friendly. The house itself is beautiful- well decorated and comfortable. We loved the open floor plan, and really enjoyed the proximity to the beach, and private road. Overall, this was the perfect home for our family, and we would return!
