Say hello to this beautiful Island hideaway. Relax and kick back in The Sand Jewel, an updated, well-maintained, 3,800-square-foot oceanfront home in exclusive Kinnakeet Shores.

The ground level has concrete parking with three carports, a fish-cleaning station, an outdoor shower, a new basketball hoop, and a beach boardwalk. The first level has a furnished game room with a refinished pool table, a foosball table, and an entertainment center.

On the second level, enjoy oceanfront views from two bedrooms with private access to the sizeable furnished wraparound with a porch swing. Two primary bedrooms also have deck access, including one with a private bathroom with a roll-in shower, grab bars, and a roll-up vanity. You'll want to unwind in the sunken hot tub just outside these rooms on the covered deck. The laundry area has a convenient washer/dryer.

As you reach the third level, enjoy the great room with vaulted ceilings, a half-bath, a wet bar with a new under-counter fridge, and miles of oceanfront glass. This spacious room features upscale furnishings, tile, and updated beach decor, highlighting the living and entertainment area loaded with a digital widescreen TV for everyone to enjoy. The well-equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and glass backsplash, a large bar, and a captivating oceanfront dining area. The third main bedroom features a Jacuzzi tub.

Melt in the wide 10-foot furnished sundecks, prepare your favorite burgers, steaks, and seafood on the new gas grill, or cool down under the covered deck. The picnic table provides the perfect place to share your favorite grilled seafood or a bushel or two of crabs!

Additional interior amenities include an elevator from the ground level, beach gear, and a great collection of board games.

When you need a break from the beach, enjoy access to the Club Hatteras pool and tennis court. The Sand Jewel is the perfect place to relax with family and friends on your next Hatteras Island vacation, with close beach access, gorgeous ocean views, and plenty of amenities!

The pool is open seasonally from April through the first week of October. Dates are subject to change.

Wonderful vacation!

We enjoyed our yearly beach trip! This house is right on the beach with a public beach access on the property! The kitchen is fully stocked and we loved that toilet paper and paper towels and linens were provided! There were several mini fridges which were nice for extra drinks! Amazing views from all of the decks! We loved the gas grill! The grocery store was within walking distance and right next to Duck Donuts!

Great House - Great Location

The Sand Jewel is a lovely beach house with great space and a fun game room. It's perfect for small families to spread out or to accommodate larger families. The great room has nice comfy couches, a modern entertainment system with built in speakers and, of course, a great view! The kitchen is pretty well appointed with tools, but bring everything else you need. There is not so much as salt and pepper left between renters. The ground level elevator door was locked for us, but the elevator was in working order otherwise and was good for getting groceries upstairs from the game room (we didn't ride in it and could not have gotten a wheelchair in the house easily). Unfortunately they were building a new public access walkway up the dune right next door while we were there, but now it's in so accessing the beach will be very easy and convenient. The second floor hot tub is nice, but does not have a view of the beach after the dune has filled in (which is otherwise a great thing). The tub itself gets up to 104 degrees, but the jet's don't do much of anything. Our son loved the basketball hoop outside and made great use of it. This is the second house we've rented on the beach in the Avon area and it is the one we plan to go back to. We had a great week there!

Family Vacation

Kitchen was stocked well and had anything you needed. Freezer was an issue; the door would not open up. Maintenance came right away and looked at it and fixed so you could open. Everything stayed iced up and frosted over all week. It was a mess. The house did accommodate us well. There were 10 of us and everything was very comfortable. Fish cleaning table was in a weird place. you had to go through the house to get to it. No water hose available out front. Was at fish cleaning area so anything needing washed off had to be carried through the house. Its name is true It is the Sand Jewel. Sand everywhere. lol. We had to do a lot of cleaning to the floors on arrival and every day. The living room TV was the only tv you could watch. All others you had to have log in to your on Hulu, Netflix, etc.

Great location, but house had issues

The view of the ocean from the big family table is spectacular. The beach access can't be beat, with fireworks in view on the Fourth of July. Access to restaurants and groceries is excellent, and the house is spacious.

Not Handicapped Accessible

The home itself was absolutely beautiful! Wonderful, updated decor and expansive views of the ocean. The problem is that we specifically booked this house for use of the elevator and handicapped bathroom. Upon arrival, the elevator was broken. We called Vacasa immediately to report the issue as my elderly father was joining us the next day. After getting the runaround, no one came to look at the elevator because they already knew it was broken and were waiting to get it replaced. I was truly disappointed that they did not let us know before arrival. We were supposed to get some sort of refund in the mail, but we were there over a month ago so I guess that’s not happening. Please don’t advertise accessibility when you know it is not accessible. I’m fairly certain that is a federal offense.

Best View on OBX

Loved the house. Great space, up to date, attentive service. Elevator did not work but we were compensated for that and stayed anyway. You need the elevator :). The only downside was the lack of towels (only one per bathroom). Owner does a great job of having about everything you could want including cable tv, internet, Netflix, kitchen equipment and other services. Also a great sound system with the tv. BBQ grill and telescope look good but both are shot and no longer working. Take binoculars to watch the dolphins. Also saw a couple of whales. Would certainly stay there again!

Beautiful House Right on the Ocean

The house was VERY clean and roomy for our multi-family vacation. Location was amazing and beach access was right along side the house. There were a few reasons I didn't give it a 5 star rating. First and most upsetting was calls that I had made to Vacasa prior to our trip the representatives stated (after I complained about the late check-in time of 6pm) that if the cleaning people finished cleaning the house early we would be able to get in earlier. This was not the case as I arrived at 1:00 and sat in the parking area of the house. From 1:00 to 6:00pm there wasn't anyone there indicating the house was cleaned prior to my arrival. I called Vacasa around 4pm to ask if we could get in and Linda's reply was that the keyless entry would only unlock at 6pm. I was quite upset as this was 5 hours of waiting time that we could have enjoyed and started our week. Secondly the third floor only had sheers on the windows which when the sun hit it became very hot inside in addition to the neighbors could view us when the lights were turned on after the sun went down. That wasn't so bad as having a bedroom on the 2nd floor facing front of the house that only had sheer curtains which meant that dressing had to be done in the bathroom. Privacy curtains are definitely needed there. Living room furniture looked nice but was not comfortable at all. We fought for pillows to put behind our back to try and be comfortable. Other than not letting us in when we arrived the place is beautiful and service was very good as well. We did have to call the first day as the elevator got stuck while we were unloading our stuff to the house. Maintenance came within an hour and was very kind and fixed it within minutes. We will definitely rent this house again. I just hope a few of these changes are made.

Fantastic house

This house has a great location, easy access to the beach, and it is well taken care of. The only “complaint” I would have is that you have to walk around the house to use the outdoor shower when coming off the beach to clean off before coming inside. Otherwise everything was fantastic.
