Enjoy the beauty of our gated vineyard nestled in the rolling Santa Rita Hills. At night you will be covered in stars and surrounded by the sounds of our resident oak tree owls and protected wildlife that also call this their home.
Take in the beautiful view of the surrounding hills and valleys right from the front deck or the cozy sleeping loft. Sample a selection of wines while dining alfresco in the shaded yard. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the vineyard, wine tasting at one of the many famed tasting rooms just minutes away or stay in and relax.
We'll provide the luxury linens, soaps, coffee, tea and private space.
Surround yourself in total relaxation and nature!

LIVING AREA

Relax in the living area, complete with a leather sofa and stylish chairs. Enjoy a movie on Apple TV, 40” TV, or simply take in the beautiful vineyard views through the French doors.
Wall A/C Split with heat and space heaters.

After a day of exploring, gather around the wood-burning stove and unwind with a crisp beverage.

KITCHEN & DINING

The kitchenette includes an electric two-burner stovetop, a refrigerator, a toaster oven, a coffee maker, and a sink. When meals are ready, the expandable table can seat four.

BED & BATH

This two-story cottage sleeps 4 guests in two bedrooms and a single sleeping loft. All beds are appointed with hotel-quality linens.

Each ground-floor bedroom has a queen bed, while the loft has a full-size futon bed. The loft also features windows on all three walls, making this the perfect spot to take in the incredible view of the surrounding vineyard.

The updated bathroom features charming details, a walk-in shower, and skylight.

OUTDOOR AREA

Sip morning coffee while marveling at the view from the front deck.

Fire up the tabletop gas grill for an alfresco meal under the shade of the oak trees. The side yard seats eight between a picnic table and two Adirondack chairs.

EXTRA AMENITIES & MORE DETAILS

Complimentary Wi-Fi and driveway parking for a maximum of two vehicles. All-wheel drive vehicles are recommended during the rainy season (November - April) to navigate the unpaved road to the vineyard.

This rental does not have central air-conditioning, however there is a split AC/Heat unit. Loft access is via a steep staircase, and the ceiling is low.

The road leading to this private cottage continues on to the main house, and guests of the main house will occasionally pass by.


LOCATION

Wine enthusiasts will enjoy staying right in the middle of an active vineyard! Your cottage is surrounded by vines.

For hiking and biking trails, head 17 miles to Gaviota State Park, located right by the beach. Cachuma Lake Recreation Area is 22 miles away and offers additional outdoor adventure.

For shopping, dining, or an evening out, venture 6 miles to Buellton, 10 miles to Solvang or Los Alamos, or 12 miles to Lompoc.

All structures have on-site devices for your security – these may include security alarms, decibel monitoring (which do not record voices), and exterior motion sensors or cameras.

This is an active vineyard and we have day workers on property and occasionally have summer night sprays and harvest in the vineyard.

Stay at Farmers house

Beautiful location close to Buelton, Solvang and wine tasting. House is very well stocked with kitchen necessities, beds very comfortable, backyard plenty of room to spread out. Only downside is TV only has streaming, otherwise highly recommend

Peace & Tranquility to start a new year

We enjoy staying off the beaten path at unique properties and the Vineyard guesthouse was just that!Jordan was very easy to reach before and after and no communication was required while we stayed as everything went smoothly. Excellent use of space in a charming guest house. We used every inch of the well designed space. Loft and 2 bedrooms were perfect for our family of 5 and the single bathroom was just fine as we had a group that splits between night and am showers. Full length mirror in 1 bedroom was helpful. Heat was delightful. Thank you for the Pinot Noir! Clearly a labor of love and attention to detail on the entire property.

Cozy but well designed

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were small, but that was fine for a small group on a long weekend. Gorgeous location.

Great hidden spot

We loved our stay at Strange Family Vineyards! The guest house was cute, cozy and just the right amount of space for our family of three. Warning, the bathroom is small, but it worked for us. Sitting out listening to the owls under the stars every night was so relaxing coming from LA. Highly recommend this as a home base for your Santa Ynez adventures.

Magical stay in the most beautiful winery

The cottage is truly one of our greatest finds - absolutely spectacular. Acres of vineyards to walk through with the most amazing scenery and views of the hills. We loved our few days soaking up the beauty all around. Easy access to wineries nearby and close to Los Olivos and Solvang. A one-of-a-kind experience. Until next time.

Peaceful and rustic chic

We loved our stay here! The rooms are decorated beautifully and comfortably. Especially the beds and linens—they were top notch. Driving along the dirt road with vineyards and wildflowers on either side is so picturesque. We enjoyed the sounds of the birds and quiet countryside. It is a working vineyard, so occasionally we heard the workers on their ATV’s. But that didn’t bother us at all. The rooms are surrounded by lovely rolling hills. We would love to stay her again next time we visit our families.

Gorgeous Guesthouse in Santa Rita

We had the most fantastic stay in this amazing property. Beautifully furnished, lovely living area with a deck and outdoor seating over looking the winery. Jordan was an amazing host who took great care of us. The winery itself was beautiful- the vineyards perfect to walk through in the evenings. Close to some great spots for tastings. We loved everything about this great cottage including the owls at night! What a great find - serene, quiet and stunning in every way. We can’t wait to go back.

Perfect weekend getaway

Family Retreat

Peaceful, serene setting with all that you need to be comfortable. My daughter graduated from CalPoly the weekend we stayed, but already lives in Santa Ynez for work so celebrated in the beauty of this pretty, working vineyard. Next time, we will book when the tasting room is open. Darling house and we loved the deck!

Wine Away

Perfect way to quietly experience the Santa Rita Hills wine country. This secluded property was perfect for my wife, adult daughter and me. Jordan was the consummate host and everything met our expectations. Anyone visiting should definitely reserve a tasting at Strange Family Vineyards.

Santa Rita Hills Vineyard guesthouse

Jordan was an excellent communicator! Extremely professional and courteous. We needed to bring our golden retriever with us and this was the perfect setting for a dog and children with plenty of outdoor space! We had a small glitch on the day of our departure with no running water but Jordan had this rectified in 10 minutes! We had a lovely bottle of Strange Family vineyards sparkling wine left for us by Jordan which we are looking forward to trying. We were hoping for better weather (less rain) during our visit but there were plenty of nearby attractions and the visitors guide that was left in the cabin was a great resource! Thanks again!

A truly special place

Beautiful, peacful location among the vineyards of the Sta Rita Hills, yet still close to all the Santa Ynez area towns. Just as advertised. Communication was great. Well appointed and stocked. It was the perfect spot for our family of 4. We'll definitely be back!

Secluded wine back country stay

We spent two nights here… in center of SB wine country…. Not a worry everything handled by professionals here. A very nice bottle of PNoir rose from Strange Family Vineyard in fridge…definitely world class. I am a winemaker in KY…yea i know…. But we did it all…from Foxen trail, Sanford and Babcock…even hitching post2. This facility met our needs perfectly 😊

Serenity plus plus

What a wonderful property! After driving across the country this was a perfect place to stop and decompress. Communication with Jordan was timely and super friendly and helpful. We arrived after dark (after Google sent us over a harrowingly skinny canyon road) but the instructions were very direct and we got onto the vineyard and into the guesthouse without a hitch. And what a treat it was to wake up to the beauty of the space and it’s surrounds. The footprint is very efficient, but coming from a New York apartment we’re used to smaller kitchens and bathrooms, so it wasn’t an issue for us. We quickly failed at being good tourists as we mostly just hung out on the property! Lunches on the picnic tables (with wine from the vineyard!!), reading on the porch, walking the trails, gazing at the stars. And we slept so well - combination of super comfy beds, no light pollution and country silence. Even though it’s a working winery we saw very few other people - although I imagine that changes depending on the time of year. We can’t wait to come back!! Thanks again for such a lovely time.

Stunning Best Kept A Secret

How do I provide a top notch rating but still want to keep this hidden gem a secret and available. If I do I might jeopardize getting in the future…….. well, here goes my secret. This place keeps the SY Valley true to what it was 10-15 years ago. Quiet solitude and every amenity possibly thought of and left for you! Without a doubt we are returning. Thank you Jordan and SFV❤️
