I wish we had more time to explore the property! What a beautiful setting and such a welcoming place. Victoria made communicating, checking in, and feeling right home so incredibly easy.
Our extended family would be happy to gather here again in the future!
The Lidge is tucked away in ore City, TX. It is close to Barnwell z mountain Recreation Area. The cabin is homey and comfy and just the right size for our group. We stay here whenever we go off-roading in the area. We are able to buy farm fresh eggs based on availability. There is a pond that is beautiful. The master bed is super comfy! The host is always so welcoming and just really “good people”. We highly recommend this hidden gem if looking for a place in the area. They also have a program supporting Veterans!
This was our 2nd stay at Counting Stars Ranch! We absolutely LOVE it!! Vickie and Dave are very attentive to make sure everything is perfect and always ask for anything that could be done differently or better. The water pressure is low, but hey it’s off a well. They go above and beyond. Can’t wait to book our next get-a-way with them!!
Rented the cabin to stay while visiting Gilmer for the Off road park. 5 miles from the park and property is large enough for the trailers. We spent most of our time outside around a fire pit after wheeling. Super rural feel was refreshing. Quiet, dark, and relaxing. Will definitely stay again if we found ourselves back in Gilmer!
Sorry for the delay on the review but our group absolutely loved this hidden gem. The host were most welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and more. Definitely coming back to stay!
Victoria and David were great hosts! My wife and I really enjoyed their cabin on the private lake. This place is on a beautiful piece of land. We caught a lot of fish and got a lot of relaxation in that weekend. We will definitely be back again.
We had a small booking mixup and Vicki was incredibly quick and helpful in getting everything straightened out! Heads up- there is no Wifi and very little cell service for a few miles in either direction of the cabin. The hosts met us, helped us get a fire started, and showed us everything we needed to know! If you have small children, I would note that the pond is easily accessible from the cabin, and the cabin has a lot of non-child friendly items like antique glass pieces, etc. We spent some time wandering the property and took a quick 25 minute drive to Dangerfield State Park for a day! Loved our stay- can’t wait to see what they do with property in the years to come.
