About this property

New! Amazing 180 degree view of Wears Valley! Hot tub! Pool table! Firepit!

This cabin is for the adventure seekers! If you like the thrill of driving up the side of a mountain, this cabin-in-the-woods experience is the place for you! You will drive up a steep one-lane road to see the amazing 180-degree views of Wears Valley. Guests rave about the breathtaking view, soaking in the hot tub underneath the stars, & grilling out & eating around the firepit. If you prefer to stay indoors, you can relax and watch TV or play a game of pool!

The Space:
*IF YOU AREN'T COMFORTABLE DRIVING STEEP OR WINDING MOUNTAIN ROADS, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT OR IN THE RAIN, THIS IS NOT THE CABIN FOR YOU. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND LOW PROFILE CARS.
*Our cabin sleeps 10 people comfortably in 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom. We can accommodate 2 more people on the sleeper sofa in the living room (total of 12 guests). 12 guests will be tight.
*Each bedroom and both the upstairs and downstairs living areas all have doors that open out onto the double decks. You can enjoy drinks out on the decks while rocking in the rocking chairs or on the swinging benches.
*Our home has a hot tub, pool table, outdoor fire pit, and charcoal grill (please bring your own firewood and charcoal).
*Flat-screen TVS are in every room for your enjoyment and USB chargers.
*Free Wifi
*Dish cable
*Laundry room with washer + dryer
*We provide a well-equipped kitchen, 12-cup coffee maker (bring flat bottom filters), charcoal grill, & outdoor grilling utensils
*There is flat parking for 3 vehicles total. The covered awning has been repurposed and available for one small car to park there and there is a flat space just outside of the awning. Other vehicles would have to park on the "hill" part of the driveway.
*We highly recommend driving up for the first time during the day and follow the Waze app to get to the cabin. Blue signs with the address will help direct you after second turn.
*This cabin is on a shared well. Should electricity go out, water cannot be pumped into the house. Use water sparingly as it is shared with 5 other cabins. Excessive water, leaks, leaking toilets, etc. can run the well dry.
*No pets, no parties, and no smoking in our home.

CABIN LAYOUT:
The main level has 2 King-suites, each with a large garden tub/shower. The downstairs has a King-suite and a double-Queen suite with regular tub/shower combos.

CLEANERS PROVIDE STARTER SUPPLIES: Cleaner provides 1-2 bars of soap per bathroom, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, 1 kitchen towel, 1 dish towel, and hotel-sized dish liquid. They provide 2 trash bags per trash can. Please bring more of the above items to fit your needs based on your size group and length of stay. You will need to bring additional supplies as needed, food/groceries, firewood, charcoal, and ice. We purchased a brand new refrigerator and freezer, but learned the water line cannot be hooked up. There are ice trays for your use.

*The cabin in uniquely located on the mountain-side with a private driveway and breathtaking 180 degree views. The drive up to the cabin is on a paved, one-lane road. The vehicle going up has the right-of-way. Pull over spots are located on the down side. There are 3 sharp hairpin turns, so please make sure your driver is comfortable with winding mountain roads. For easiest entrance into the driveway, go past the driveway, turn around at the top of the road and come back down. Contractors, cleaners, maintenance, and we make the drive often without issue and without 4-wheel drive. However, if you are more comfortable with 4-wheel drive, please bring a vehicle with that feature. Folks have made the drive with trailers, but not everyone feels comfortable with trailers on mountain roads. PLEASE BE AWARE OF YOUR OWN COMFORT LEVEL WHEN BOOKING.

**As mentioned in other places, water must be used sparingly because we share a well with 5 other cabins. Excessive water usage (long showers, dishes, sinks, etc) can cause water shortages. You also must notify us of any leaks or dripping immediately to conserve water for all guests. If we come up against a water shortage, we may not be able to fill hot tubs at any of the cabins, either. Please be aware of this prior to booking. We do have a filtration system, but if you aren't comfortable with drinking well water, you might want to bring your own drinking water. If water sits, there may be yellow discoloration on tubs/toilets causing staining, but that doesn't mean they haven't been cleaned.**

HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS:
- We will have a Christmas tree during Christmas!
- Any reservations booked to check out on a holiday will be charged double the cleaning fee due to cleaners having to come in and clean on a holiday. Please expect the additional charge.

Guest Access:
Check in is 4pm.
Check out is 10am.
You'll have access to our entire home along with all amenities provided.

The Neighborhood:
Known as the “Quiet Side of the Smokies,” you will travel through the beautiful country-setting of Wears Valley and the historical local town, before heading up a paved, winding road to our mountain-top home. It's quite an adventure, so please make sure your driver is comfortable with mountain roads! Once you arrive, you will experience breathtaking views and have the opportunity to quietly relax in complete privacy.

Our central location connects you to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Townsend, Cades Cove and even offers a private, back-side entrance into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, saving you time in traffic.

Within Wears Valley, make sure to visit the local restaurants, such as Grandmother's Kitchen or Elvira's Cafe, swing by the general stores, have a picnic at Metcalf Bottoms Park, tour the Wear's Valley Moonshine Distillery, order a pizza from Geppetto’s, zipline, or horseback ride. This historic community has so much to offer, and just minutes away to so much more.
20-22 minutes to Pigeon Forge via Little Cove Road and Pine Mountain Road.
15-20 minutes to Great Smoky Mountain National Park via Line Springs Road.
35-40 minutes to Gatlinburg via Line Springs Road.

Getting Around:
To better your experience, we encourage our guests to drive your own vehicles, so you have the opportunity to explore many areas during your stay with us. The road leading up to the cabin is a winding, steep drive up the mountain-side and quite adventurous. It is paved all the way up to the cabin and is a one-lane road. If you are to meet someone on the road, there are some pull-offs or you/they will need to pull into a driveway. As a reminder, mountain roads don't have street lights, so turn on your headlights at night. We don't have 4-wheel drive and neither do our cleaners, and we make it up and down the mountain-side just fine. However, if you feel more comfortable, please drive your 4x4 vehicle.

*Be mindful of freezing or snowy weather and plan accordingly. These weather conditions could cause zero accessibility.

Other Things to Note:
Self check-in.
Parameters are put in place to ensure the number of guests on your reservation is correct. Should you have more than 12 people, we reserve the right to ask your group to leave and pay an extra $75/guest per night on the reservation.
Reservations from Knoxville will not be permitted.
*Please remember you are in the woods, so bugs are to be expected.
*If you see bears, DO NOT feed them under any circumstances. Put all trash in bear bin.
*Keep the hot tub cover on the hot tub at all times when not in use... or you may find a bear in it. Do not take the cover off the hot tub. Bend it over the hot tub bar, then lift the hot tub bar to open.
*Always lock vehicles. Bears can open doors.
*Just like with any home, there are times appliances (including hot tubs, which are appliances) can break. We are not responsible to provide a refund if an appliance breaks, to include hot tubs, refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, blenders, washer/dryer, etc. We will have the item fixed or replaced as quickly as the maintenance specialist can get there, but please do not ask us for a refund. We value our maintenance team and they work hard to remedy appliance situations as soon as possible.
*Should you experience a maintenance issue over the weekend or during a holiday, ONLY emergencies will take precedence. All other maintenance issues will be resolved Monday or the next business day if possible.
*If the cleaners charge extra due to stained towels, sheets, or additional cleaning, those charges will be passed to you.
*Please put all trash in bear bins. Guests may request a mid-trip trash pickup for a charge of $50 or guests may take extra trash to the Convenience Center at 447 Tiger Drive, Pigeon Forge, TN (located behind Pigeon Forge High School) at no charge. Cleaners do charge for excessive trash left on property, so please contact us for mid-stay trash pickup or take trash to the dump.
*Owners, cleaners, and any vendors we use are not responsible for items guests leave behind at the property. If you leave an item, the cleaners (separate group from us as the owners) will try to accommodate retrieving the item and shipping it back to the guest if requested. They charge $50 per item requested and all shipping fees. Guests must pay this in order to have their item shipped back to them. Cleaners are very busy and cannot grant a specified time frame for shipping or delivery. Please make sure to take all belongings with you when you leave the property. Cleaners cannot handle firearms. If a firearm is left by a guest, it must be picked up immediately from the property or the firearm will be turned into police. Guests will have to retrieve the firearm from the police department.
*Checkout is 10am sharp. Cleaners charge $50 for late checkouts and an additional $25 for every 30 minutes after that. Late checkout fees will be charged to you.

Hello, we're Eric and McKenna, a Michigan and Tennessee native. We reside just outside of Nashville, in a home where "Go Blue" and "Go Vols" often divides the room. We enjoy kayaking, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and traveling when we can. Some of our favorite trips were through Alaska, touring Washington D.C., and a stay in the Dominican Republic. We hope to visit Israel together (McKenna went years ago) and New York and Colorado here in the States.

We value meeting new people and creating new friendships, so it's an honor for us to be a part of your travel. We look forward to providing a 5-star experience for you, and may God bless you with safe travels.

We help manage other properties in the Great Smoky Mountains, so if you need additional housing nearby, let us know!
