Terrible communication

I booked this around June 1st for a June 22nd stay for my step-sister, my mother, and me (we live in 3 different states and were planning a get together to commemorate the one year anniversary of my step-father's death which I explained when I booked). A few days later my grandmother had a heart attack and was given a few weeks to live. I reached out to the property manager before the deadline for getting a 50% refund asking if we could change the dates to later in the summer .He responded AFTER the deadline saying there was nothing he could do. So, we lost our $1100 payment and were not able to reschedule for a later date. My grandmother passed away when we would have been at the property. Very unhappy with the lack of communication and compassion. Philadelphia - or Rebecca's Residence specifically - is definitely NOT the city of brotherly love.
