Great location

Great location with a nice view. Short drive to Nub’s Nob and there was plenty of room for our 3 families.

Great home for family get together.

House had plenty of room for our two families and all of the kids and visitors. The layout was wide open and offered multiple places to converge and hang out. Location was great for seclusion and had great walking opportunities.

First impressions

First impressions not good. Drive dirty with sand, sticks and leaves- same in garage which I blew off with hand held blower. Didn’t want to trek dirt into house. Fridge door handle loose so I found Allen wrench in massively over loaded garage and fixed. Same with bedroom lamp that was broken. AC on main floor worked well and helped mitigate musty order. Lovely shag carpeting in master badly need of cleaning. There’s a hole in master bath wall area where a heater has been installed in wall exposing insulation Shower diverter in second master did not work- verified by serviceman who came for that abd TVs. Washer and dryer likely original and very slow. Sunbeam coffee pot needs to be in museum- 20-25 minutes to complete. No ice maker, which I don’t think was disclosed but theres a bag of ice in freezer. Many stitches don’t correspond to anything. Frustrating Serviceman tried to get local channels on tv in master but couldn’t as no cable box there. He struggled trying to get local channels on family room tv, trying to navigate three remotes- even with one page had written instructions on table. Finally gave up and installed his own peacock account so we could watch Olympics. Super low couch in family room. Kitchen overflowing with various items but needs to be organized and cleaned up Hard to rate more than average and probably best for large group of 12 with kids as lower level rec room well equipped. Think I deserve a credit for repairs I made

Wouldn't rent again - smells like dog

• Comfortable beds. • Deck was great place to sit, read & watch wildlife. • Did not provide required green/blue garbage bags. • No remote garage door opener. • Upper level couch in bad shape. Had a couple of rips and low to the ground. We pulled a couple deck chairs inside to use. • 1-ply toilet paper was terrible, packages water-damaged. • Blinds hard to raise and lower. Remote to open/close some not provided to us. • Huge holes in 2 bathrooms. Could see drywall & insulation. • Smoke detectors not installed. • DVD player could not connect to TV. I did verify a month ahead of time there was a DVD player. Vacasa’s solution was for me to buy HDMI cord. • Electrical system confusing. Several light switches controlled nothing. • Hot water problems. Had to wait for Vacasa to send a rep to verify problem, then for plumber to come out, diagnose, drain 2 water heaters and replace parts. Lost gigantic chunk of our day because of this. • Entire lower level moist. Hung towels were damp the following day. Bathtub not caulked. Spiders in every bathroom. • Overpowering smell of dog. Worst spot was master bedroom. Carpets need to be cleaned. Overall, I can’t recommend. Has potential to be great but several issues need to be fixed. Outrageous to charge $3200 for weeklong stay. They need to step up their game to compete with better rentals in northern MI. Joel from Vacasa was rude and hung up on me. I won't rent from them ever again.

Lots to Do at Birchwood Beauty

Very spacious, well-appointed, lived-in comfy home in Birchwood. Lots of towels, great grill and kitchen. Almost every game and indoor activity you could imagine. Access to Birchwood Farms community clubhouse, restaurant, golf course, tennis courts, and pool for a fee. Enclosed deck is perfect for kids, dogs and/or outdoor dinners and games. View of the lake in everything but full leaf summer season. Many nearby excellent golf courses. Hit the dog-friendly village beach in Cross Village on the shore below Legs Inn. Suggest Lake St. to avoid peak tourist season traffic in Harbor Springs on Main St. Owner is very responsive. Management company was not.
