Designer craftsman style detached home. Largely open plan with amazing light and air flow. Away from the tourists but just 1 mile from the Santa Monica beaches in a quiet and upmarket, family neighborhood. Incredible local independent “Bobs” supermarket plus trendy coffee houses, boutique shops, best pizza in LA, hair salons, restaurants and gyms within a 3-5 minute walk.

Living Room with 48” flat screen TV with Netflix, Apple TV + more (no cable TV). 3 seater sofa and designer arm-chair. In-wall heating system. Ornamental fireplace. 2 windows with insect screens and curtains
Dining Room with chandelier on dimmer plus Crate & Barrel designer round table and chairs to seat 4+. Large wall mirror. Bar.
Den/ reading room with views on to garden with 2 x large sofas (can be 3rd bedroom with queen bed if requested)
Kitchen with fridge/ freezer, gas stove/oven, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, blenders, juice machine. Ceiling fan
Utility Room with 2nd fridge, washer and dryer plus storage space
Master Bedroom with king size bed, full length wall mirror and walk-in closet. Ceiling fan plus window air conditioning/ heater. 2 windows with black out curtains

Ford Escape Hybrid SUV available for a fee. (It's not pretty but it works great!)
Large rear garden mostly laid to lawn and fully enclosed to be pet safe/ friendly. Lemon, citrus and avocado trees. Lawn irrigated on a timer. Gardener comes every Wednesday morning.
Shaded outdoor dining area seats 6+ under the avocado tree. BBQ. Two-seater outdoor sofa to enjoy the cocktail hour and sunset. 2 chairs and cafe table. Another L-shaped outdoor sofa in the “sun-trap” area near the house.
The house is usually home to a small dog so people with allergies should be aware.
Easy access to all major freeways but set among quiet local back streets with stop signs and bicycle lanes.

Your host

We are Gareth & Danielle! We are originally from the UK but have been in the States for 24 years and in this house with our daughter Sasha for over 10 years. We love to travel and care about the small details so that traveling is fun and comfortable. We've designed this house to offer a peaceful and zen-like experience for all our friends and guests. It's an old house but with that comes charm and charm and we have made many upgrades to make it a functional and efficient home.
Why they chose this property
Sunset Park is an affluent residential area with great schools. It's home to families who enjoy the finer things and has a great walk factor. Within a gentle 5 minute walk from the house are great shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors, a grocery store and coffee shops. There is plenty for kids to do with several parks nearby offering sports (baseball/ tennis/ soccer/ track/ swimming) and summer camps for those who want them. The beach is close enough to easily access (5 min drive) but far enough away so that the home is out of the touristy areas.
What makes this property unique
Our home is truly our home, meaning that we have put lots of effort in to the small details and finer touches. We love being here and hosting our friends with regular dinner parties and drinks evenings. Being open plan it's perfect for entertaining and the flow between indoors and outdoors is easy and fluid. The garden is truly private and perfect for some morning yoga, a workout or some sunbathing.
