About this property

Newly Renovated Cabin in the Midst of Mountain Fun

The mountains are calling! This recently renovated cozy 3 bedroom and 2 bath cabin is surrounded by towering pines and hearty oak trees. A huge sweeping deck offers breath-taking views and a comfortable place to relax with the family next to the fire. Everything you would come to the mountains for is close by so if you are looking for a clean and enjoyable space for your next getaway, this is for you!

ABOUT THE SPACE:
Follow us on IG @HekekeCabin

What you will love about the location of this cabin is that it is close to so many fun things to do. In the summer you can enjoy Pinecrest lake or a peaceful hike in the Stanislaus National Forest. In the winter you can hit the nearby ski slopes of Dodge Ridge or go sledding at one of the numerous snow parks. And of course year round you can visit Black Oak Casino for some gaming fun or take in the breath-taking views of Half Dome and El-Capitan at Yosmite National Park (a 90 minute drive).

You will love the large outdoor deck where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and, more often than not, catch a glimpse of the numerous deer and wild turkeys that roam the area. Outdoor seating and a fire table are provided to also keep you warm on those chilly mountain evenings. If you do find yourself outdoors at night, sipping on your favorite beverage, you will be in for a treat as the stargazing on most nights here is spectacular!

The kitchen has been entirely remodeled with new cabinets, appliances, and all of the cookware & utensils you would need to entertain your family or friends. The kitchen opens into the main living space where you can enjoy the warm fire or take in a movie with popcorn. The primary guest room is located downstairs and boasts a queen-sized memory foam bed, a dedicated heater and plenty of plush fleece blankets. Also downstairs is a full bath plus shower and a washer and dryer for your laundry needs.

Upstairs there is also another full bathroom with shower flanked by two bedrooms, both of which have stunning windowed views into the trees and valley below.

The second bedroom has a comfy queen-sized memory foam bed as well as a quaint dedicated workspace and chair. This bedroom is also large enough to fit a pack and play or portable crib should you have the need.

The third bedroom is dedicated to the kiddos or the young at heart. It features full-sized bunk beds and a queen-sized futon for either lounging around or extra bedding space.

GUEST ACCESS:
The entire cabin is yours to enjoy! Each guest is provided their own unique access code for our keypad entry system which makes checking in super simple! The driveway and parking area can easily accomodate 3 vehicles.

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE:
Overall the home comfortably sleeps 8, however guests are welcome to bring their own air mattress (or pack n play for young ones) to accommodate up to 10 people.

We recommend that you consider purchasing travel insurance - especially during the winter months as the weather can be unpredictable and we do not accept cancellations because of snow/rain or lack of.

During extreme winter conditions four wheel drive and/or chains may be needed to get up to the top of the driveway. Please contact us if you have further questions about access.

Rating: Overall, my experience was okay, but there were a few things that didn't quite meet expectations.Positives:The check-in process was seamless. We were given a key code, which made entry easy, and the host generously allowed us to check in 1.5 hours early.Location & neighborhood: The area was fine, though I can imagine it being a challenge to access during snowy weather.Room for Improvement:Cold cabin: When we first arrived, the cabin was quite cold. While there were wall heaters and a fireplace, it took a while for the space to warm up.Cleanliness: Unfortunately, the cabin wasn’t as clean as expected. My family noticed dirt on the floors—our white socks were dirty after walking around.Accuracy of listing: The photos on the VRBO listing don’t accurately represent the cabin. The pictures made the space appear larger than it actually was, and the furniture seemed newer in the photos than in person—it was quite worn.Communication: I reached out to the host on January 9th with a question but did not get a response. I did receive a reply regarding payment on February 6th, but it took a while for any communication to come through.Driveway/Access: If it had snowed during our stay, it seems like getting to and from the cabin and navigating the driveway would have been challenging.Overall, the cabin didn’t fully meet my expectations based on the VRBO listing, but the check-in process was smooth, and the host did their best in some areas.

Great home in a beautiful, quiet, location.

We only had a few short days but enjoyed our stay immensely. Home was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for our group of 6. Wonderful, quiet location. Owner responded quickly to questions.
