We visit Windrock 2-3 times a year and have stayed many different places. This place was amazing for our large group of 12 people. It was clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Plus the beds were super comfortable which is necessary after riding all day. Close to Brushy Mountain State Prison, Ginger’s Deli, Marathon Gas station and Dollar General.
Had a great time at Gunther’s Getaway in Petros. Had everything we needed. Loved the space. Only one complaint. The pool table is a little wobbly.
Other then that it was a perfect weekend.
This property provides all amenities for those who are trying to have a comfortable lay back with friends. The place was unbelievably clean, the maid should honestly get a raise then come to my house because she is awesome. I only have a few small complaints. 1. The pool table, lorddd that pool table has seen some games and needs to be replaced. It’s got more curves than Lizzo. 2. coffee cups, who took them? Are they being held hostage?! 3. There’s a less than tasteful coal sign on one of the doors that made me super uncomfortable, assuming we are in the south it hasn’t bothered many but I do feel for a poc person to see it and be offended. To end on a good note, the property management went above and beyond to change a mess up in my scheduling, rushing to get the place cleaned and read a day early on 3 hours of notice. Gold star in my book!
House was clean and spacious! Loved being so close to trails and local attractions. Will definitely stay here again! Got to know a local guy and he was very entertaining and knowledgeable of the area.
Great place to stay! Fun house and super close to Brushy for the Blackberry Smoke concert. Only suggestion is to put mirrors in the bedrooms. We had 10 girls sharing two mirrors and they were located in the bathroom so that made getting ready a little challenging. Other than that, it was perfect! Would definitely stay here again.
This place is exactly as advertised if not better, very clean and plenty of room. We stayed here 3 nights and rode straight from the house to Windrock and TWRA trails. The host Joni and Ashley are great and are very responsive to any questions we had. We will be back next year.
We were there for a wedding. The house was very clean and inviting. The owner was very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend and will stay her again if the occasion arises.
This is our third time traveling to ride Windrock. This is our first stay at this particular home. The owners communicated very well. The home was clean, was welcoming, and had small details, such as menus for local restaurants. We had a group of ten adults, and everyone fit comfortably.
I love when a location listed on VRBO lives up to its pictures. The house was clean, really big and perfect for two large families. The decor is fun and comfortable too. The property is located on the corner of a somewhat busy intersection but as long as we kept an eye on the younger kids, it was fine. There is a huge parking area for ATVs and a nice fire pit.
One wish we would have, to have the pinball machine and dart board in working order. We brought our bags of quarters but the pinball machine wasn't working (and the darts were almost all broken). Even having said that, we would stay at this location again in the future!
Great location, easy access to WindRock trails, house was great, owners are great!
They do an excellent job communicating with guests. Highly recommend!
Great VRBO that is better in person. Pictures don't really do it justice on what the inside actually looks like and has to offer.
We really enjoyed the space, pool table, fire pit, and closeness to Brushy and a couple of food options. The rental was very clean, had plenty of extra towels, the beds were comfortable, and fridge was stocked with extra condiments and such. There are two bathrooms that were surprisingly very spacious.
Check in and out was very easy with very little tasks to do for check out. A couple of things to note: there is a total of 4 bedrooms, but only one bedroom had one bed. The other 3 had 2 beds in each one. This wasn't a problem for our group, but if you are traveling with multiple couples that could be a deal breaker for some. The rental sits right on the road and at the corner of the main highway, so there is a ton of traffic and was pretty noisy with all the traffic, motorcycles, and razors that travel to Brushy. KEEP THE FRONT DOOR LOCKED AT ALL TIMES - the rental was an old store (we learned from locals) and still has that appearance from the outside with ample parking. We had 4 cars parked out front and had someone walk right in the front door asking how to get to Brushy. I guess they thought it was open to the public. Would definitely rent this space again!

Too good to be true
At first this seemed to be a great place to stay. Not too long into the stay we found that the game room was useless. The pool table is all wobbly, and unlevel the pinball machine didn’t work, the darts for the dart board were broken and the pop machine just takes your money. The beds were decent and appeared clean. The bathrooms had some broken ceiling tiles as well as loose floor tiles by the shower. After my stay I was hit with a $100 pet fee, for a pet that I didn’t have.
100% will book with them again. Amazing place to stay the neighborhood was great. Super close to the trails. Fantastic service. Had a issue with one of our SxS needed a water hose to clean the area off to repair. Messaged asking for a hose if there was one on the property, had a response and a Waterhose there in less then 10 minutes. Fantastic people and service. Rooms are huge, WiFi and AC for those who need it.
This property was a perfect find! Communication with the owners before & during out stay was very good. It was easy to check in, very clean and even stocked with some essentials. It was definitely spacious enough for our group of 7 girls! We were able spread out & relax in the main living area and loved playing in the game room (although you need some quarters for the pinball machine).
We booked this property for an off roading weekend. The location was great. It was close to the trails at Windrock & a few other places we wanted to see (like the old Brushy Mtn State Prison & Nemo’s Tunnel). The grocery store, gas stations & a few restaurants weren’t too far away.
We enjoyed our stay & would definitely book again!!
We had such a great time staying here. Check-in was easy and The location was GREAT! It’s about 1 mile to the prison and maybe 2 miles to a trail head. It was plenty big enough for our group of 10. There’s also 2 extra rooms that could possibly be more bedrooms in the future, if not bring an air mattress for more people. The beds they did have were comfortable. The hosts were fantastic and just a text away. There was plenty of seating, the rooms were good size and everything was in great working order.
If there are any “cons” and these are very trivial, I would suggest having the pinball and dart board on free play, have a little more kitchen supply such as cookware and trash bags big enough for the trash cans and a heater for the front room. Again, super trivial and definitely didn’t change our minds about wanting to stay there again. We are already trying to pick another weekend to come visit and stay here again.
I highly recommend stay here!
