About this property

Juneau Gem: Hot Tub & Stunning Mountain Views

Welcome to our cozy corner of Juneau! Our home is like something out of a storybook, especially in December when it transforms into a winter wonderland. Imagine waking up to a breathtaking sunrise over Gastineau Channel and winding down your day with a sunset that paints the snow-capped mountains in stunning colors. And trust us, there’s nothing quite like soaking in the hot tub as the sky turns to dusk—it’s pure magic.

But hey, winter isn’t the only season that makes Juneau special. When the snow takes a breather, the summer brings a whole new vibe to the area. From May to September, you’ll find no shortage of fun. Whether you're exploring the awe-inspiring Mendenhall Glacier, taking thrilling heli tours, fishing, hiking, or even spotting majestic whales, there’s always something to do. Boredom? Not a chance!

Our home is tucked away in a newly-built, peaceful subdivision, right in the heart of town. You’re just a quick 3-minute drive from the local grocery store, so grabbing supplies is a breeze. The neighbors are super friendly, the nights are serene, and the mountain views? Absolutely jaw-dropping.

Love to cook? Our kitchen is stocked with everything you need to whip up a feast. And if you prefer grilling, there’s a barbecue out on the back deck waiting for you (we've got both a charcoal grill and a Traeger). We’ve got all the utensils you could need, so if you’re used to it in your own kitchen, you’ll probably find it here too.

After dinner, head out to the back deck, kick back in the Adirondack chairs, and watch the sunset. There’s an outdoor fireplace perfect for cozying up with a drink as you share stories and maybe even catch a glimpse of the northern lights—or the pair of bald eagles that call the trees behind our home their own. And of course, our brand-new hot tub is ready for you to relax under the stars. It’s even partially covered, so you can enjoy a soak even if it’s raining.

The primary bedroom is your personal retreat, featuring an adjustable split king Sleep Number bed (with a foot-warming feature we absolutely adore), a smart TV, and an en suite bathroom with a double vanity and a spacious walk-in shower.

The second bedroom has a full-size bed and a smart TV, while the third bedroom is set up with a full size bed as well (bunkbed photo is old, it’s a full-size now). There’s also a hallway bathroom upstairs with a double vanity and a shower/tub combo, plus a large washer and dryer in the laundry room with all of the supplies to keep everything fresh during your stay.

Since we have two kiddos ourselves, we’ve got plenty to keep the young ones entertained—a large outdoor trampoline with a safety net, and loads of toys, balls, and games. While they’re having a blast, you can focus on enjoying your well-deserved vacation.

Need a bit of digital zoning out and binge-watching or need to work on your vacation? No problem! You'll find wifi throughout the house and smart TVs in the main living area, den, primary bedroom and 1 smaller bedroom.

Beautiful, spacious home

We had a wonderful stay in this clean, spacious home. Perfect if you need 3 bedrooms and the hot tub was a great bonus after a long day hiking.

Host profile image
Hi! I'm Jen, a former teacher turned stay-at-home mom and my husband, Steve, is a maintenance guy at our local living care facility. We have two boys and are both lifelong Juneau residents.

Why they chose this property

Our home is in a newly built subdivision on a private road (no through traffic) in the central part of town which provides quick access without being smack dab in the middle of the busier areas. Friendly, but private neighbors, quiet outside evenings, and gorgeous views of the mountains.

What makes this property unique

Explore everything Juneau has to offer, including visiting the Mendenhall Glacier, helicopter tours, whale watching, salmon and halibut fishing, hunting, hiking or simply getting the freshest air you’ll ever breathe.
