Had a great time at this property. The home had everything we needed plus more. Location was close to all of the places we wanted to see. Would highly recommend this home.
The home was extremely comfortable and clean. We met both our hosts and they were welcoming and informative ab the area. We loved that we could open the windows at night and be more than comfortable. Reminded us of our childhood.
We hope to return in the future.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
No thank you Worst experience I've Ever Had
The owners stay in an RV at the front of the house. This should be clearly stated in the listing and in the house rules or it makes it creepy when you find out you are being watched and they can here all your conversations on the porch. Why bother with that when there are countless other options to stay in on the same road?
A little more professionalism from the owner would be nice.
The house was clean and comfortable. It is in a good location to tour the sites around Custer. We cooked many of our meals and found it well supplied with the things we needed. The hosts were very friendly.
The property is beautiful with wild life strolling through the yard at various times of the day. The house was setup nicely with plenty of space for a fair sized group. The hosts are on the property and are great people with a vast knowledge of the area. I would highly recommend this property.
I recommend this property. The host were great and nice with great communication. The property is located centrally in between all the great monument and state parks. I’ll booked it again.
You can see the Black Hills from the living room and patio! Great home base for any adventures you wanna do. Tzeidel has great communication as all texts were answered immediately. We had a fantastic family trip!
We had a great visit to the black hills. The location of the house was great- centrally located to a lot of the things we wanted to do on our trip. The house was very clean and comfortable for our family and my parents who joined us. Would definitely recommend!
Close to town and shopping. Great place to bird nest to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and the city of Hot Springs. Pictures are accurate and the place clean. Easy electronic check in.
The property is beautiful and John and Tzeidel were GREAT! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. On trips we carry a tote full of things to use in and around the around the house and we barely even got in that tote for anything! I would not hesitate to stay there again!
We travelled with my elderly parents, who are dependent on walkers for mobility. The property owners supplied a shower chair and raised tiolet seat to make their stay more comfortable. They were able to easily move about the house and to get in and out with the help of the ramp.
The owner was responsive to our needs throughout the stay, including providing a fast solution one eveni g when an electrical storm impacted the internet connection.
We prepared multiple meals from scratch using the utensiles and cookware provided. We would stay hear again and highly recommend this property.
This was a great location for our week in Custer. The house had everything we needed and provided a place for down time when we weren't out and about. Good location to get to Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, and other sites. Nice to also see wildlife in the yard. Tzeidel was a great hostess - very friendly, responsive and answered questions as we had them. Would definitely recommend this property to others!
This was a great place to stay to access Custer State Park and the surrounding area. The view from the porch is fantastic. The town of Custer is cute. Only complaint is there is no soap in the shower. I’ve stayed at dozens of rentals and this was a first.
Outstanding stay.
We appreciated and loved the area! Tzeidel was very supportive and provided very much needed information about the area and current weather conditions. It was a great joy and pleasure meeting them and staying there. We will definitely do it again.
We had a great visit in Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, and Mount Rushmore. This was a great location to see them all and the house was nice and as advertised. The owners were helpful with any questions and there were clear instructions in the house.
We had a great stay visiting the Black Hills. Very close to Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, etc. House was roomy and well equipped with plenty of beds. Overall, great stay!
House was fine. A little awkward the owner lives in a RV next to the rental and there is no driveway space to park in as they have no parking signs in front of both garages and we were pulling trailers.
This is a very comfortable house near the city of Custer which is one the great adventure land sightseeing locations in the country. Everything in the house was very clean and in great condition. Highly recommended for a stay in the Custer area.

About the host
Hosted by Tzeidel Black
John & Tzeidel Black moved to Custer in 2012 and got married October 20. John has worked for the National Park Service since 1999. He has spent 10 years at Jewel Cave National Monument (which we highly recommend!) as the Facility Manager. Tzeidel has been in tourism since high school, mostly in food service. She did work with the Parks & Forest for 3 years in the non-profit cooperating association. We have exceptionally high standards for cleaning and maintenance. We appreciate you choosing to stay at our home and hope you have a peaceful, relaxing and restoring time!
Why they chose this property
This home has an incredible view. The experience of looking out the front window or dining on the deck is hard to match.
What makes this property unique
It does have a wheel chair ramp, with its own unique life story, that is not ADA approved but may assist some in wheel chairs, walkers or crutches. A shower chair is available. Furniture can be moved to be more accessible. Please text so we can set up fully for your individual needs. Because of our own needs and for some who have multiple chemical sensitivity we strive to be chemical free. Only natural cleaners are used from Norwex, Melalueca and essential oils. We steer clear of scented trash bags, laundry supplies and cleaners. We are a rare home in the Hills that has Recycling. Filtered well water for drinking.
