Great place to stay

This place was a very nice place to stay. Loved the view of Taunton Bay and the location. Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The hosts were very nice and the lodging had anything we could think of needing. Would highly recommend!

Tavern with a View

When we arrived at "The Galley" we were surprised to see that the place we were staying used to be a restaurant/bar. It had a unique vibe and was an actual operating restaurant at one time. The back of the location is as pictured in the listing. However, one of the bedrooms is 10 steps from a Major US Highway. This wasn't anywhere in the description and we felt like it should have been explained/described better, or maybe a photo provided. We contacted the property manager about the proximity to the street and were told that we could look at a map and tell how close it was to route 1. The actual address isn't on the listing so how is an outsider to know the proximity to the highway without it being described? The space was clean and tidy and had all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. Two sound machines were provided which did a fair job of drowning out the steady stream of large trucks traveling US Hwy 1 at all times of day. Our other concern was that the description of the beds changed from the time of our booking to the time of our arrival. The property manager was prompt in her replies when we reached out with our concerns, however, not much care was given to the situation. All in all, the the space was clean and well stocked, but the description needs more details to accurately depict the accommodations.
