Hope to stay again

The property was really lovely and everyone commented on how the home was quality built with upgraded finishes throughout. It was a real treat to stay here; there were many small touches and comforts that made guests feel like they hadn't forgotten a thing, and we will definitely come again! The views were really relaxing.

Thanksgiving bliss!!!

We had a fantastic getaway in this wonderful home.It has everything you need in the gorgeous kitchen and the views are incredible! We loved our time walking through the trails and coming back to get into the extra large hot tub. We definitely got lucky to find this special gem!

Beautiful home at Wintergreen

The house is great with wonderful space for multi-generational family ranging from 70s to 9 months. The kitchen is exceptional with high-end appliances and all the cook ware one could want. Even a pizza stone. It helped that we hit fall foliage at its peak and many of the nearby breweries and ciders were celebrating fall.

Great Mountain House!

This house is the best VRBO I've rented. The house is beautiful with a great view and outside decks. The kitchen is gourmet and well equipped. The property manager is very responsive to any questions or requests. Super clean too!

Beautiful, luxurious getaway!

Rented this home for a ski trip weekend with our family and the home was absolutely gorgeous! Open floor plan, updated kitchen with top of the line appliances. Plenty of room for everyone and felt like such a luxurious getaway. Home was well stocked with plenty of high quality items and we felt very well cared for. Would definitely rent again!

Mom’s bday mountain weekend

Best house we’ve rented at Wintergreen so far! Most amazing gas fireplace on main floor. The property is spacious and well equipped. I’m sure the views are magnificent from all the windows but it was a gray, wintry weekend for us. Totally relaxing with our teenage daughters. Will definitely return. Thank you!

Beautiful home in Wintergreen

My family of 5 stayed in this home for 4 nights prior to Thanksgiving. The home is in a beautiful location and fir out family perfectly. We especially enjoyed the open kitchen and family room space. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook great meals. My kids also loved the hot tub and nearby hiking trails. It was fun family getaway and I highly recommend this home.

Terrific home with great kitchen

I've rented many homes through VRBO. This one had the best equipped kitchen by far. We were there in late Oct 2022. Fall foliage was at its peak. This is a great home to experience that and was wonderful for a family get-away with adult children

Amazing Mountain House

Guests beware

While our stay at the home was enjoyable with a spectacular kitchen and views, I became concerned with after stay (notified more than 2 weeks after our stay) charges that were baseless and excessive. Attempted to initially charge me $300 for 12 washcloths and a dish towel- which we brought and to r fix one bathtub stopper.

Top Notch Stay

Everything about the house was as described or better. It’s certainly a 5 star property and seems like the owners have thought of everything. The living / dining / kitchen area is spacious and has everything you might need. Communication with Deb was easy and efficient. Would definitely stay here again.

This property was better than the pictures show. I don’t usually leave reviews but everything about this place was perfect. There’s nothing you will need besides groceries when you arrive because everything else was provided. There are helpful instructions on how to operate everything that you would like to use during your stay. There was privacy which we enjoyed with the views. 10/10

Perfection!

Dear Deb, my family of 4 had an absolutely wonder time at your mountain retreat. There isn’t a thing that needs to be addressed because you thought of everything right down to the s’mores and bottle of wine! Thank you for those uncommon touches and for sharing your beautiful home! Future renters…. The kitchen is well laid out and stocked with every gadget/appliance you may need, the dining table and chairs are perfect for having big family meals at or playing board games. The linens and beds were super comfy, the master bath shower was perfection with multiple heads and a granite seat and the hot tub was a nice treat. Between the expansive windows and the deck off the kitchen, you have the opportunity to witness absolutely stunning sunrises! The home has a great floor plan, is very well-built, noticeably well-maintained and nicely decorated. My husband and I actually own a custom home design-build firm so we tend to struggle overlooking flaws/lack of maintenance and have a hard time relaxing when those conditions exist. We had no trouble feeling “at home” and wouldn’t change a thing about Brown Bear Lodge. Whoever did the millwork put a lot of care into their workmanship. The ceiling details upstairs are stunning!

Welcome to Alpine Daisy Chalet! This is a HAPPY PLACE for our family. We have made sooo many wonderful family memories in this home and at this resort, and we hope that you will too. We first discovered Wintergreen in 2001 when we were looking for a family getaway that wasn’t too far from our home in Northern Virginia. We borrowed a friend’s condo and made a reconnaissance trip with our infant and toddler and SWORE we would not look at any real estate! We were so taken with Wintergreen, we were homeowners within a week and have never looked back. Our daughter (now 23), took her first steps at Wintergreen. Our kids learned to ski at Wintergreen and made lifelong friends on the Wintergreen Ski Team. We have hosted family ski weekends, holiday celebrations, Girls Weekends, Guys Weekends, Book Club Retreats, etc. We are now at the point that our children are hosting their own Girls and Guys Weekends here! In 2007, we decided to further invest in our Wintergreen vacation home and we embarked on the process of custom-designing and building the home that is now known as Alpine Daisy Chalet. So why are we renting it? It was not an easy decision, but we are in an in-between stage in our family’s life where the kids are launched and pursuing their own interests and are not making regular trips to Wintergreen. Our fervent hope is that in the next 5-10 years, they will settle nearby and will bring their children here to learn to ski and the house will be in full family use again. But until then, we can share this beautiful home with you! Please let us know how we can make your stay memorable! We had a wish list for our home:  Gourmet kitchen with Wolf and Subzero appliances  Open kitchen/dining room/family room for maximum togetherness  Stone fireplace with roaring gas fire  Wooden beams and reclaimed pine ceilings and floors  Mud room for storing ski equipment dealing with wet boots and clothes  Bedrooms with their own baths  Kids’ lair with huge TV and wet bar  Window seats throughout  Huge hot tub I’m proud to say that we were able to include everything on our wish list and more! One of the reasons we love this home so much is that we designed and curated EVERYTHING in it with care and love for use as our family retreat.
