Beautiful Home and Beautiful View

Thank you for the awesome property for the week! It was an amazing home that was very wide open and could easily host a big group. The view into the canal was amazing for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Needs updating/deep cleaning

Stayed 2wks in Jan. Pros: View of the canal was beautiful. Master BR #2 bed-comfortable but should be King sz. Basic kitchen items-had to buy kitchen towels, only 2 in the drawer & no dish rags. Hot tub was a delight. Did not use the pool, would have been too costly to heat. Get a solar cover to hold in heat in cooler mos. Cons: All the patio door blinds are so old they are dirty/sticky, outdated. Patio doors also difficult to open. Couch should be thrown out. One side of it sagged, felt sticky & smelled. Inside/under couch full of crumbs. No one wanted to sit on. Area rugs are dirty/smell, buy new ones. Wall by back patio door was patched but never painted. Master bed leather headboard is worn & head of mattress sagged. #3 BR mattress felt cheap-uncomfortable. Fixtures throughout the house appear original to the house-2004. No beach chairs/towels, used bath towels for hot tub. Window in mstr bath may have mold on it. Update furniture, paint inside and deep clean. That would give it a more comfortable feel.

Bad experiences

We never received instructions on how to get into the house. I had to call VRBO an hour past our check in time and finally heard from the owner. I emailed and called sever times that morning with no response. We got to the house and the pool was 70 degrees. The pool never got above 72 and the hot tub got to 92 degrees one day. I brought my kids and grandchildren and no one was able to swim, very disappointed. We had ants all over the kitchen and bathroom, had to throw away food due to the ants. I informed the owner of all the stuff during and after our trip with very little care on his part. All in all, not happy with our stay at this house.

Disappointed

The pool didn't work for ten days of the 14 day holiday , apparently broke the day before our arrival, once it was repaired still too cold for the children to use.The bedding was very poor quality and the pillows were disgusting, stained and yellow. The crockery was cracked and chipped. The rug in the lounge was that dirty we couldn't understand why the children were so dirty after playing on it until we looked closer, we rolled it up and put it outside for the duration of our stay. The towels were washed out and stained. The headboard in the master bedroom was disgusting, all the faux leather was peeling off and was in the bed and under the bed even on arrival. Most of the blinds were broken or missing, filthy and the window sills also not been cleaned for a while. The decking was warped, a trip hazard!Importantly the first aid kit was completely empty with the exception of one piece of gauze The property was tired and very dated .The location was amazing but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the rest of the issues

Great location and view!

Great location…near Ft Myers, Cape Coral and islands. Pictures are accurate. The pool and hot tub were great. The view at sunset is stunning. Neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Host was very responsive. Planning on going back next year. Convenient to groceries and shopping.

Beautiful home, wonderful stay!

We had a group of 6 adults plus our children and this house was perfect. The pool and hot tub are phenomenal, canal was fun to fish in and provided a nice view. Neighborhood was nice, groceries, coffee, etc nearby. It’s a bit of a drive to go to the beach. We visited Bunchee, Lover’s Key, and Sanibel during our stay and all were great experiences. This house had everything we needed and the pictures don’t do it justice. A couple notations: the listing shows a twin bed in the master bedroom, which is not there and the boat in the listing is not available.

Relaxing weekend stay

We enjoyed our stay at this home! The home is on a nice quiet street with beautiful waterway views! We rented a boat through a different person because the boat on the listing was not available (I'd recommend checking on that before booking if that's important for you). The cruise to restaurants and open water was about an hour but lots of beautiful houses to see. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and appliances were all nice and easy to use. The furniture, bedding, and towels are all a little worn but usable. The pool was our favorite part! Relaxing, refreshing and easy controls.

Very Poorly Managed

This property is run down and we had no communication with the hosts. We could not reach them the day of check in, and we had to use the after hours emergency VRBO phone number to help us enter the property. It was dirty, very few essentials and no support from the property management. One roll of toilet paper, one roll of paper towel, no aluminum foil/stretch wrap, dirty toilet, filthy window sills, broken light fixtures and more. I could go on and on. The rear dock on the canal is all broken with strap’s holding up some parts. A broken and partially submerged boat lift is haphazardly hanging off the deck too. Bugs in the house were abundant (ants all over the counters) and we killed a couple cockroaches in the bathrooms. There is more, but take my advice and look somewhere else

Couldn’t have been better

My family loved this home! The view was amazing, house was clean and comfortable (beds were all cozy) & had plenty of space for my family of 9. My kids loved & lived in the awesome pool & my hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. It was so lovely & convenient to have the dock right out back to fish off & dock the boat which we rented in conjunction with the house at a discounted rate (highly recommend! So worth it!) I will note that the camera ride from the house to the gulf is a bit of a ride since the canals are a 0 wake zone due to manatee & wildlife presence, took about an hour, but the views are enjoyable & once to the gulf Just heaven. Eric, our contact person for both rentals was super helpful & great to work with! The neighborhood is super quiet & peaceful so definitely more of a quiet family spot vs a party hot spot… it’s also a bit to drive to shopping but not too far to be unmanageable. A short drive to Sanibel island which is absolutely worth the trip! Would 100% recommend & go back.

Renter Beware

I rented this house for 3 weeks. I will highlight a few of the items that made it less than pleasant. Upon arrival on 1/20/2024 at 4:00, the pool was half empty and not heated. I called the number provided for the Property Manager (Eric) and sent an email. I received a call back on 1/21/ at 1:00 p.m. Pool was not up and running until Wed (1/24). Still no call from Property Manger to ask how things are and if everything is okay. Three empty propane tanks on the property for the Grill. Property Manager did drop one off on Sunday after a call. Grill is rusted and no cleaning tools. Bought our own pans to cook on grill. Blinds broken in all bedrooms, many bulbs blown throughout house, microwave sounds like an airplane landing. House "book" needs to have updated instructions. Lounge chairs rusted and taped on Lanai, dishwasher does not work, blender is broken and could not be used. Dock broken, and smelly due to muscles and dried barnacles. Pictures on VBRO need to be updated (not accurate from what is in the house now). I did receive $500 back due to inconvenience. However, does not pay for what we thought we were getting and did not receive. I'm not one to write a review but I wish the person who had rented before me made a review so I would have known all of this. Bonus - Man across the street was so nice and a huge help during all of this. I was told he was supposed to fix what was wrong, however, he would need to hear it from Property Manger first.

Beautiful Canal Home

This was our first time staying in Cape Coral, so we learned a lot about the things we liked and didn’t like about the area and the this stay. Check in was not contactless, and that is pretty off putting. When I messaged to get check in info, I was told an email was sent at booking with that, and that is not accurate. You get the entry info from the property manager, who meets you when you arrive, at the home. They meet you to take a picture of the electric meter, because you are responsible for an additional electric fee based on your usage. This was not a fee that was made visible on the listing at booking, and it appears in an obscure area of the mobil app under “House Rules”. The property manager even admitted that others said they didn’t see it, so one would think they would put it under the “additional fee” tab, where it belongs. I would have rented a different home, had I known about this fee. The home is situated at the northern part of the canals. Due to a yacht parked at the home’s dock, we chose not to rent a boat, as there was no where to store one at the house, and instead opted for a day rental off of Pine Island. The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood and was very clean. The pool was incredible and such a high point for the kiddos. The bedrooms were very comfortable and large, but I personally don’t think a home being offered as “luxury” should have old sheets and comforters. White linens and comforters that are free from snags would have been appreciated. Not to mention pillows that matched and weren’t well used. The bathrooms were nice, but again, the towels were old, stained and no beach towels were present. I’d assume other renters stained the bath towels having to use them as beach towels. The kitchen was well stocked, but the typical hodge podge of cook wear that is typical in cheaper VRBOs. The listing states that they provide paper towels, toilet paper and basic soaps, but don’t rely on that. There was one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, one trash bag and the soaps were refilled with water, not soap, and they were useless. We had to buy, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, dish wash pods, dish soap, and laundry pods. They also expect recycling, but provide no container to do so. There were also no cleaning products to wipe down counters, etc. I’m being nit picky, but I think those are important things to know when you rent. Altogether it’s a nice stay, just not luxury.
