Just a few steps to north shore ocean!

This house is set in amazing location away from everything yet close to Isabel for anything you need. Beach access for a dip and strolls with amazing views day or night. We spent most of our time on the patio and shared the yard with an Iguana we named Larry.David Mac

Paradise…….for us

We loved the relaxation offered by this beach house. Quiet private-like beach. Welcoming people abound in Vieques. You’ll need a vehicle (Jeep) to explore. And there is so much to explore on this island. John left amenities for floating in the water, snorkeling, towels, beach chairs, although some were broken. We’d love to come back again. Enjoyable stay at the beach house

My sisters and I enjoyed our stay. Overall, the location is the big win with this house. The kitchen is well equipped. The house manager is very responsible. We had a wonderful, peaceful time.

This is a great house for a family!

The house was a great spot nestled away on what seemed to be our own private beach and perfect for the little ones as it was calm and not deep. Quiet location and everything we needed for our stay. Ron was the best caretaker, from picking us up at the ferry last minute when our ride fell through to recommendations for everything! We not only will be back but we just might buy a place there :)

I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Vieques! My adult kids and I had a terrific 8-day stay. This is a great beach house with a great neighbor. I love hearing the sounds of the waves 24 hours a day. The beach is almost all your own. It is beautiful. Sunsets, snorkeling, kayaking, and just a lazy dip in a protected area are all possible.

Beach vacation

The beach house was a great location to explore Vieques. The access to the beach was awesome. Isabel is charming and unpretentious. This is the vacation spot for those hoping for a quiet, uncrowded beach vacation. The house was great. The kitchen and living room are small but the large screened in porch with a view of the ocean really added lots of living space.

Paradise found!

A group of us rented Jon’s property for 5 weeks last winter. It is perfectly situated on Bastamiento beach that rarely attracts many visitors. Many days we walked for long periods without seeing another human being. There is a Coral reef right offshore which creates a natural pool that is always calm and warm! Paradise is found in that pool, especially on days when you look up from your reverie and see horseback riders sharing your space. Amazing. Vieques is a magical place. This is nowhere more evident than at this little slice of heaven!

Great beachside retreat

The home was right on the beach and had great bedroom and bath sizes. Upon arrival the ac units we paid for were not hooked up and the refrigerator didn’t work- the manager had bought 2 mini fridges (not large enough for 5 guests for a week). All and all the space was relaxing- kitchen and shared indoor space was small but plenty of porch space! Relaxing location, although far from some spots on the island.

Great place to stay in Vieques!

House accommodated our family of 5 adults very comfortably, with 2 full bathrooms and comfortable beds. Kitchen is well equipped and also provided a variety of coolers, beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and toys for all ages. Air conditioning in the living room and 2 bedrooms worked very well, but there is none in one of the bedrooms, but sleeping with the door open and a fan was good enough. The beach just behind the house is wonderful, not a lot of people around. The town with groceries, local restaurants and shops just a couple of minutes away. We had a fantastic stay in this very beautiful island and we highly recommend you staying here. Thanks for the hospitality.

Family and friend vacay

The property was very easy to find, we walked in and it was very clean and nice. The property manager met us there who was very friendly. There were plenty of dishes, pots, pans, cups and whatever you need for a kitchen. The rooms were all clean and the beds were probably the softest I have ever had away from home. The rooms cooled off quickly and there were plenty of fans. The screened in porch was awesome again with fans. There are so many different beaches and we tried to visit a new one each day, roads can be a little rough to get there but hey it was an adventure. We found great snorkeling at Green Beach which was probably one of the further beaches we drove to however it was worth it to see huge Stingrays, multiple sea turtles, huge pieces of coral, wide variety of fish different colors and pretty much had the entire Beach to ourselves both days. We visited Coqui fire and Duffy's, try the fish tacos at Duffy's they were delicious coqui fire had good variety of food too but we weren't impressed with the food. My kids thought the Bioluminescence Bay was awesome, definitely make sure that you book it so that it is dark out as possible we did the 8:00 p.m. slot with Abe's snorkeling and bioluminescence tour. Would Stay Again!!

Secluded beach retreat home

Property does not disappoint. It’s a beautiful space overall. The 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are as advertised. Having a washer and dryer was super handy. There is a well appointed bookshelf with many diverse titles and a handful of games and puzzles. The spacious screened-in, wrap-around porch was a huge bonus. You can take in the views while dining Al fresco!! Just steps away is a secluded beach! Def a favorite. The setup is quite unique. There’s a surf break you can see in the photos. During the day it keeps the more powerful waves from the Atlantic Ocean at bay. However, at night, the high tide comes in and the surf break disappears leaving a stunning beautiful nighttime vista of the sprawling vast open sea. If you’re looking for a home to use as your island base of operations, do not hesitate to book this place. The location is best described as “out of the way”, but truly in the best sense of the term.

We loved Vieques and enjoyed our time there.

This property is very close to the beach. I think the description indicates it’s 90 steps. I didn’t count them but that seems pretty accurate. Very easy access for swimming or just sitting on the beach, which we did quite a bit. Probably our favorite part of the house was to sit in the wraparound porch to watch and listen to the ocean. We took pretty much all of our meals there and spent time in both the morning and evening to just enjoy. The manager was very helpful and easy to reach and easy to talk to. We spoke to her prior to the trip, upon arrival, and during our visit. She was a wealth of knowledge. If you go to Vieques, do not miss the bio bay tour!

Beautiful setting

You couldn't ask for a better location. You can walk out the back to a beautiful beach that seems like your own private oasis. The screened in porch was great for breezes and listening to the surf. Everything was very clean, the beds are comfortable, and everything you need is there. Jolene, the manager, was thoughtful and very accessible. We didn't use the air conditioning in the big area, only at night in the bedrooms. The only improvement would be quieter AC for sleeping, but that doesn't outweigh all the good. I would definitely return. This is an incredible find!

Can't beat the location

Not only is the house steps from the beach, but it is basically the last house in the row before a giant national park. I could see at least a mile of beach at a time, and quite often I/we were the only ones in sight. The property manager was amazing; always responsive and very helpful with advice on local amenities. Vieques is quiet and laid back; there were no crowds of tourists, and the locals were very kind. The only negative: I would invite the owner to rethink the policy of spoon-feeding, well, spoons. We booked a party of six adults, but one came a little later. So we were issued five towels, five packets of laundry detergent, five plates, etc. and yes, five spoons. It turns out there are plenty of these things in a locked closet. Presumably this is to deter parties, but given how difficult it is to get friends to Vieques, it seems like overkill. Also a bit embarrassing for a group of mid-career professionals all over the age of 40.

Quiet and restful

The property sits on a some what rocky sand beach. The beach was quiet and mostly deserted. The currents in the water were very strong when we were there and it was difficult to snorkel. There was a rip tide warning. However- we enjoyed the solitude and location. The house was cozy and had most everything needed (although Tupperware or reusable food containers and a cheese grater for the kitchen, usb outlets or extension cords for the bedrooms would have been a great addition). The back 2 rooms don’t have AC and I imagine they can get sweltering in the summer months. Still pretty toasty when we arrived but we opened the windows wide at night & made sure to close them against the sun in the morning/day. The property manager was amazing and helpful. We appreciated the ground coffee and snacks left for us! You will definitely need a car. This property is located away from much of the tourist stuff/restaurants/tours. Hideaway Home Away From Home

The villa is at the very end of the road, on the border with the wildlife reserve. There are pros and cons to that. Pros: privacy, direct beach access, away from urban hassle and bustle, being on Route 200 (main street). Cons: no easy access to eateries, beach has a rocky reef, loud dogs (our kids loved them, though, and considered them our "vacation dogs" :)). The property is well equipped and tourist-friendly -- we thoroughly enjoyed having a washer and dryer, two separate bathrooms with showers, a microwave, plenty of bath and beach towels, multiple floor fans, and a built-in AC unit in one bedroom and in the kitchen/living room. We wished that all bedrooms had built-in AC units - it would make our stay even more enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, which was a big plus (not all vacation properties have come from beds :)).

Great location! But house is run like a slumlord.

This is our second stay, first was in 2019. The first stay was great so we thought it was a no brainer to book again. Unfortunately, not the case. The cupboards are rotting and drooping. The fridge/freezer quit midway through our week. We lost a bunch of food and the landlord made no effort to reimburse us. Instead brought in a mini fridge and was told that was “good enough”. The grass was so overgrown (12 inches+) my grand kids could not play in the yard. The beach chairs were rusted, rotten, and broken. The landlord has a 2 garbage bag per week rule. Doesn’t work with a family when you have to buy groceries. The landlord also has a rule on the amount of paper towel you use. There is only one hand/dish towel. The a/c that you have to pay for had a rip in the hose so it was blowing hot exhaust back into the room. CONS - house is run like a slumlord PROS - location is awesome for kids

Great for families with small children!

We loved this location! Plenty of room with your own private entrance to the beach. A welcome basket with a few snacks was nice. The beach was where my kiddos swam and snorkeled forever. The area is like a pool and safe for the little ones. Communication with Jocelyn was great. She answered questions for us and helped us navigate our way on the island by recommending several taxis etc. The neighborhood was quiet. A golf cart or rental is advised since the location is a distance from the grocery store etc. You will not want to leave! I recommend staying here and I know we will be back.

My wife and I fell in Love with Vieques in the Spring of 2001 and purchased this vacant 1/2 Acre Beach Front Lot. We purchase the adjoining lot 8 months later and built a small Bungalow. This 3br./2ba. Beach House was in our plans for 7.5 year until we finally built it in the spring of 2010. We spent Christmas in Vieques in 2010 and had a wonderful family experience. Our 3 children learned to snorkel at 3,4 and 4 years of age, because of the calm waters in the rock pool area. This house is great for Couples as well as Families. You came to The Caribbean for the beautiful Beaches and the incredible welcoming draw of the sound and warm waters; so there could be no better place to stay than in a Beachfront home. Nothing is better than waking up every morning and exploring the Beach as the Sun is rising, or sipping a cool drink in the heat of the day and waking through the warm welcoming water and exploring the outstanding diversity of sea life while snorkeling only 50 steps from your home. And don't forget the incredible,memorable sunsets every evening again only 50 steps from your house. There is nothing like a Beachfront stay! Read our guests reviews if you don't believe me.
