"Nothing comes closer to perfect than Jen's place."

Forest Suite is located just a few minutes south from the village of Mendocino on 5 acres of beautiful redwoods.This 560 sq. ft. apartment plus 200sq ft deck, is upstairs from my 2,000 sq. ft artist’s studio, which is not in use when guests are staying. Built entirely with redwood, recycled fir and barn wood with cement counters and shower this romantic getaway is a very special spot.

The south wall is all windows with a deck overlooking the surrounding trees. It’s very peaceful and sunny and is frequented by honeymooners, artists, writers and those seeking total privacy. A few books and screenplays have been written here! There is an eclectic book and DVD library to enjoy. Take a walk through the forest; you will see a trail sign by the driveway which will take you through the property and out onto Gordon Lane for a longer walk. There is a bench along the trail and also a deck in the trees for yoga or meditation, or just relax and enjoy the tranquility. Thank you and enjoy your stay!!

A Tranquil Coastal Retreat

This was a perfect stay in a quaint and cozy suite with a perfect woodland view. The decor was tasteful and all the essential amenities were in place plus bonuses like the DVD collection. You can't help leave more relaxed after a stay here and the location is perfect - close but not too close to Mendocino.

Comfy and cozy - an actual dream

Wonderful stay

This is the 4th or 5th time we have stayed here and each stay is as wonderful as the last. It is serene with big windows that let in so much light, even on cloudy days. It’s a short drive everywhere you want to explore. Thank you for sharing your wonderful space and can’t wait to return!

Absolutely perfect getaway spot!

This is the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting the Fort Bragg area! It’s close to town, but just far enough away that you still have total privacy and quiet! We loved it!

It’s a magical place, starry skies, great location, eclectic vibe and the accommodations provide everything you want and need and things u didn’t know you’d want or need! Quaint Cottage in the Woods

This is the most peaceful get away to reconnect and enjoy the beautiful Mendocino coastline. The Forest Suite has everything you will need for a relaxing time. Jen is an amazing host and has provided a special suite that has all the comforts for your stay. It’s our top pick!

Time in the redwoods

We capped off our road trip to travel the length of the Pacific Coast Highway by staying at the Forest Suite by Mendocino for 4 nights. We loved the trail through the redwoods and the incredible loft suite, and also loved the Mendocino community. Forest Suite is so comfy and private and we even made 2 meals while there. Thanks Jen!

Quiet get away

Enjoyed the quiet and close access to town of Mendocino. Couldn't ask for more in a VRBO. Noted that some of my friends had stayed there too in the past. Would do it again.

A forest oasis...

Our 4-night stay at the Forest Suite just outside of Mendocino village was wonderful. It was a delightful escape from Silicon Valley, to be able to sit and look /listen/smell the redwood forest from the front deck was truly delightful. Early April meant showers the first day, but glorious sunshine and wildflowers after. A few deer came out of the woods to nibble on the grass below. The cabin was fully stocked and thoughtfully appointed; one of the best VRBO properties we've ever visited. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking a few meals, the bed was extremely comfortable, and linens were top quality and soft. We lost power the first evening (rainy) but only for about 10 minutes. But emergency lighting was available and Jen (the host) contacted us via text to be sure we were OK. Mendocino village is about 5 minutes north of the cabin on Hwy 1. There you will find a grocery store as well as a variety of restaurants, shops and art galleries. Nearby are public forest lands and beaches, so take your pick. Note: the suite is on the second floor of a cabin with well-lit wooden steps, but may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The bottom floor appears to be an art studio, but we saw no activity during our visit.

Quiet retreat in the forest

We really enjoyed our short stay here! The place is exactly how it’s shown in the photos and is very clean. A great place to retreat to in the evening and is close to activities near the coast and Fort Bragg. We’d definitely stay again!

Our favorite place to stay in Mendocino

If you like total privacy, a charming space, great light, and easy access to the wonderful town of Mendocino, this place is for you. Sitting on the deck in the sun while watching the trees sway in the breeze is our idea of heaven. We've stayed here three times and can't wait to go back!

My stay at the forest suite was exactly what I needed. The location was perfect inside and out. Tucked far enough away to feel like you are in your own little forest while being close to Mendocino and all it's beauty. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking to relax and escape to this whimsical locale.
