Very nice cabin. Had everything we could want, and was extremely quiet and peaceful. Loved the hot-tub! Access to Dolly Sods was really nice too. I would definitely recommend it.
A wonderful cabin, in a beautiful setting. Everything that we needed was available and in place upon arrival. Clean, comfortable, and peaceful.
EXCELLENT communications from booking through the end of the stay. Any questions were quickly answered, regardless of what silly time of day (or night) they popped into my head.
HIGHLY recommended.
We enjoyed our stay at the house, it had everything we needed for three adults. Access to the private lakes and Dolly Sods is always a plus. Darien answered all of our questions and kept us informed about no fires in Dolly Sods due to dry conditions.
Our family had a great time visiting Canaan Valley, and Blackwater Falls. The cabin was clean, nicely decorated and the owner was available and quick to respond to questions.
Darien was an amazing and very responsive host. The property presented as advertised. It was a great place for kids with a large lot, hot tub and room to roam. We highly recommend for families.
My group absolutely enjoyed staying at this cabin! It’s perfectly located near Timberline Resort which made skiing during the day super easy. The cabin was exactly as listed, and we never had any issues in communicating with the owner. Would 100% stay here again. 5 stars overall!
We were very excited to stay at this house and were not disappointed. There was plenty of information provided prior to and during our stay. Kitchen was well appointed with cookware, coffee station and spices. Beds were comfy and the gaming loft area was a nice touch. We spent most of our time using the outdoor amenities. We loved the pizza oven so much that we’re planning to buy one for our home.
Had a wonderful time. Owner was super helpful and readily available. Main level bedrooms were a little chilly, but it was 10 degrees outside. The house and owner were very accommodating
March is a great time to relax and get some fresh air. We spent most of our time in Black water falls and Seneca rock hiking. The cabin was peaceful and the hot tub heavily. We loved it there.
We had our family get together there for a long weekend in the mountains. It was absolutely perfect. Very clean. Very well-kept. Great location. They even provided a playpen in the one room. Highly recommend great communication with the property manager as well.
Driftland Cabin was perfect for a quick mid-week getaway to ski at Timberline. Exactly as advertised. Lots of sleeping space and beds were comfortable. There was snow and ice on the ground, so finding kindling and dry firewood from the pile in the driveway was a bit of a challenge, but we made it work. The common area and kitchen can get a bit tight as mentioned by other reviewers, but you can get creative.
We loved our stay at the Driftland cabin! From the moment we booked our trip the host was very inviting and reached out via text message and also a few times during our stay. We fell in love with Timberline last year and were so happy to find a cabin located on the same road and in a gated community. The cabin was just the right size for us - 3 adults and 3 kids. Appreciated the games in the loft, board games and also the fire pit and hot tub were a hit. The gate at the top of the steps was an added bonus as we have an 18 month old. Kitchen was fully stocked with supplies and loved that I didn’t have to bring my own spices. Washer and dryer helped tremendously with our snow gear. Added bonus of linens and towels included and a travel crib/pack and play for our baby. We had such a memorable weekend and highly recommend Driftland cabin for your stay!
Drift lane cabin was the perfect getaway for our family of 5. We had a very comfy bed in the master, the bunk beds were fantastic, and our teenager said the other bed was very comfortable too. It was so peaceful at the cabin with rocking chairs I enjoyed my morning coffee on and a fun hammock my kids enjoyed. The hot tub was awesome, too! So clean and easy to use. The little touches like coffee, tea, toilet paper, soaps, and paper towels that were provided made such a difference! We have rented many places before and don’t find that. Communicating with the owner was easy and he responded quickly. Drift lane cabin really was the perfect getaway for our family. It was calm and quiet at the cabin, yet an easy drive to Blackwater Falls and other places. We would definitely stay here again.
The cabin has sleeping space for 8-10. The bedrooms are adequate. However, the kitchen is tiny and it was difficult to cook or store the food that we brought. The gathering space had seating for 5. Thus, if you wanted to hang out together, there wasn't room for everyone. Finally, the cabin's description says there is a spiral staircase to a play room; not accurate. The spiral staircase is the only access to the second floor, where master bedroom is located. I would not have rented cabin had I known. Sprial staircases are dangerous and difficult to negotiate with a suitcase. Also, I found lighting inadequate. One could not sit in living space and read a book or look at a map.
The house is as described. Feels secluded and cosy. All necessary appliances are present, including a modern jacuzzi. We had a very relaxed stay. Highly recommend.
