Boy, do I wish I saw the previous review prior to booking our trip! There are so many similarities that it’s scary. We booked for two nights, but ended up leaving midday after the first night due to unresolved issues and a dirty, nonworking apartment.
Within the first 30 minutes of our arrival, I reached out to big fish rentals to let them know about how the room stunk, our towels smelled like smoke, and how the kitchen lights were not working (meaning no switch would turn them on and we were making dinner in the dark). I received one response from big fish rentals asking me to reset the breaker box, which I told them I already did with no luck. I called back the next morning after I reached out a second time and they were completely rude. After a third call, I told them we were checking out a night early and leaving due to all of the issues. We were then offered extra towels and maintenance, but at that point we were already packed and heading out.
I had high hopes for this stay and really wish that with all of the rules and guidelines set by them, they would take responsibility and set similar standards for themselves. It’s a real shame. Also, just as a note, I reached out to the owner and essentially told that even though big fish rentals had waited until we notified them of our early check out, they still changed the light bulbs and provided extra towels so it was our loss. I also reached out to VRBO and I was told that there was nothing they could do.
Please do not book with this company and save yourself time and major headaches!
