--DURING YOUR STAY, THINGS TO NOTE--
Nestled within a wooded area, our cabin naturally shares its surroundings with a variety of bugs and critters, that crawl, slither, and fly! This is typical of the Tennessee landscape. While we make every effort to minimize their presence through monthly pest treatments, encountering the occasional deceased bug is to be expected. Stink bugs and Asian beetles, which bear a resemblance to ladybugs, are particularly prevalent in this region. Rest assured, our ongoing pest control measures aim to ensure your stay remains as comfortable and enjoyable as possible amidst the wonders of nature.

--SAFETY & SECURITY--
*For Families with Children*
While we warmly welcome families with children and provide numerous amenities tailored for them, it's important to note that the home is not entirely childproof. The property features steep hills and stairs, which may pose safety risks for young children. However, we strive to enhance your family's comfort and safety during your stay by offering a range of child-friendly amenities. These include a high chair, pack-n-play, baby gates, bathroom step stool, child toilet seat, outlet covers, and doorknob covers (for you to install), along with plastic plates, cups, and bowls. Additionally, we provide a selection of toys and books to keep the little ones entertained. We encourage parents to take advantage of these resources to ensure a delightful and secure experience for the entire family.

For families allowing their children to enjoy the game room amenities such as darts, a pool table, and ping pong, it's essential to supervise their play to ensure safety and prevent any damage to the equipment or property. Your vigilance ensures that everyone can have a fun and worry-free time during their stay.

*Security Cameras on Premises*
For the security of our cabin, please be aware that we have installed security cameras on the exterior of the property. These cameras are positioned at the following locations: the front porch, back porch, driveway, downstairs garage side door, and side porch area. These cameras are in place to monitor the surroundings and help us maintain a secure environment. Your privacy is important to us, the motion detection features on our security cameras will be disabled throughout the duration of your visit.

--LOCAL PLACES TO VISIT--
If you are looking for something local to do:
Historic Rogersville is a treasure trove of history and charm that's not to be missed! Established in 1775 by the grandparents of Davy Crockett, it holds the distinction of being the second oldest town in Tennessee.

If you are looking for a nearby place to eat:
The Green Tomato Grill is a local favorite! Their Fried Macaroni Cheese Balls are my favorite! They are located in Mooresburg, 11 minutes (7.3 miles) from the cabin.
Bull Babies is also a local favorite for breakfast and lunch, open 7 days a week in downtown Rogersville.

Looking to head to Cherokee Lake:
German Creek Marina in Bean Station is a 21-minute drive away (16.9 miles) for pontoon boat rentals.
Lakeside Marina is also about 20 minutes away for pontoon boat rentals.

Day Trips:
The cabin is centrally located to many points of interest and activities. From Bear Lodge, you are about 1 to 1.5 hours away from the Mcghee Tyson Airport (TYS) in Alcoa, Dollywood, Downtown Knoxville, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg & Bristol Speedway.

These are a few of our family favorites:
• WindRock park in Oliver Springs to rent UTVs
• Fly fishing on the Holston River in Bristol
• White Water Rafting in Hartford (near Gatlinburg)
• Cherokee Lake for boating and fishing
• Johnson City has great mountain bike trails and places to rent bikes
• Sugarlands and Ole Smoky Distilleries in Gatlinburg
• Dollywood

Before check-in, I will send you a welcome book with additional local attractions and recommendations!

Fishing trip
This beautiful cabin did not disappoint! A handful of us get together every year for a fishing trip. This cabin had so many amenities and felt so inviting, it was hard for us to leave it for our day of fishing! The cabin is quiet, and secluded. Sitting on the wraparound deck every morning, drinking coffee, and watching wildlife was just the cherry on top.

Beautiful mountain cabin with spectacular nature view.
There were six adults in our party, and each one of us loved our stay at the Bear cabin. Upon arrival, it was immaculate, and the cabin is well outfitted for everything we needed during our week stay. Besides the cabin being well maintained, it had a lot of creature comforts, it was set up with everything we needed for a cozy week in the mountain, including pillows for the deck/porch furniture, throw blankets, games and tons of DVDs . We highly recommend this property to anyone who’s interested in staying in the mountains or planning to visit Pigeon Forge, Smokey Mountains and/or surrounding areas.

Excellent place to stay
So many things we liked about the property.... It was not far from the main road (Hwy 11) and town of Rogersville, but felt secluded, quiet, peaceful. The home was beautifully decorated with lodge-style furniture, with bear and music decor. There were books to read and games to play (including a pool table, foosball table, cornhole, darts, etc). The hosts have really put a lot of thoughtfulness and attention to detail in the things they have provided if you forgot something at home (thanks for the toothbrush!), the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with things you might need. There were also plenty of towels, extra blankets, dishes, pots and pans. They have truly made it your home away from home, and we look forward to staying there again.

Why they chose this property

We love this property because it's peaceful and has a secluded feel (especially in the summer when all of the trees are filled in). The sunrises and sunsets are amazing as well as the views of the mountains in the Winter and Spring time. It's not too far from Cherokee lake. We enjoy renting a pontoon boat and spending the day on the lake. The cabin is centrally located in a great spot, only an hour away from Knoxville, Bristol and Gatinburg. Fishing, rafting, hiking, ATVs and moonshine are all within a short distance away!
