A bed too high...
WoW! What a magnificent building, it was a fabulous way to say 'Welcome to LA'
Then the lift (elevator) was amazing and we easily found our apartment, and it looked exactly like it did on HomeAway.
That said it wasn't too long before we found out that the sofa's are just off of ground floor level and the bed in the bedroom was about 4'6'' high, I couldn't get down to the sofa so easily and I needed help in getting onto the bed! I called the owner and asked where she kept the stairs so I could climb up to get on the bed, we both laughed but my partner wasn't so happy. I am just over 6' tall and he is about 5' 6'' so he ended up sleeping on one of the sofa's not the sofa bed!
All of this could not take away the fact that we were in a major historical building on Hollywood Blvd (with stars in the pavements right outside the door) and it was awesome, it didn't matter which way you looked you found history, you found old Hollywood and it was and is amazing.
We enjoyed the rest of the apartment however it was very dusty. It looked as if the cleaner hadn't bothered and had not been in around as the tops of the pictures were thick with dust, the skirting boards around the toilet and the TV and TV boxes, for cable etc were also covered in a very thick layer of dust.
We stayed here for 10 nights and we didn't even get a change of bed linen and towels. I think that the manager needs to have a very serious talk with her cleaning team because I know that we will not stay here again.
So although it was fantastic for access to all the Hollywood sights and was even more fantastic for Hollywood history it was seriously let down by it's housekeeping and I have subsequently found a 2 bedroom apartment in the same block for moreorless the same amount of money and if the housekeeping is up to scratch we will stay there if we return to Los Angeles.
