Beautiful Historic Home in Prime East End Location
This lovely home was built before the Civil War in 1854 and is a beautiful example of a historic Greek Revival home restored to comfortable modern standards - yet still with many historic touches. It has three bedrooms (a television in every room!), one and a half baths, a full kitchen, upstairs and downstairs porches, and a small, private patio with bubbling fountains. Modern art and vintage antiques combine to give Muir House great charm. Furniture, mattresses, and linens are top notch for your comfort. The Koehler House is in the heart of one of Galveston’s best neighborhoods, the East End Historic District. Several of Galveston’s favorite restaurants and bakeries are just a quick walk down the street. The Strand and Postoffice Street districts are a quick drive or bike ride. And the beach is only 8 blocks away!

The Muir House is exactly as listed...a perfect mix of historical and modern in a terrific, quiet neighborhood. Our host, Helen, was terrific! With views of Bishop's Palace and walking distance to Patty Cakes Bakery, Mosquito Cafe and Sunflower Cafe, you cannot go wrong! The home is cozy with an easy vibe. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked and the antique pieces are gorgeous. We had our coffee outside each morning on one of the two patio swings...perfect! We will definitely be back!
This house is absolutely beautiful. It’s clean, historic, and spacious. A family of 7 can easily live here and enjoy their stay in Galveston. Helen is very communicative and our check in and out process was very fast and easy.
This was the perfect place for us to stay. Conveniently located -- just a few blocks from the beach and the Strand. You can see Bishop's Palace from our porch. Great restaurants and bakery a stone's throw away. The home is just as pictured/advertised. We loved it!
Such a wonderful house. My kids loved the house vibe. Cozy and stylish decorations, old disk music, nice sofa, chairs and huge dining room table, balcony swing bench, etc. Kitchen was well equipped. Thanks for the coffee! The house was super clean and well kept. It felt like home that I didn't want to leave. Great location, only a few blocks drive to the beach and nice restaurants in walking distance.
Location was perfect! We were able to walk to Sunflower Bakery, Mosquito Cafe and Original Mex.
Beds and furniture were comfortable, nice kitchen with coffee/tea and location was perfect for Historic Home tour. Loved that we could walk to so many restaurants. Parking right in front of house. Very clean and we had everything we needed. TVs in all bedrooms too. Very nice stay. Thank you, we will come again!
