Come and relax at our Cozy Cottage with spectacular views of nearby Cossayuna Lake and distant mountain views to the North. Sit and relax on the patio while barbecuing, roasting marshmallows over the outdoor campfire, sipping your favorite beverage, playing outdoor games, or just taking in the quiet of country life. Our Cozy Cottage is a close 20- 25-minute drive to downtown Saratoga Springs and Saratoga Racecourse, and a short drive North to Lake George Village, shopping at the Lake George Outlets and the Great Escape Theme Park. Want to stay close in the Summer, and enjoy the biggest county fair NY has to offer...The Washington County Fair is in August. Mornings can be spent relaxing on the newly remodeled front porch with a cup of coffee from our coffee station. Afternoons can be spent taking a leisurely walk around the property, hiking, playing outdoor games, reading on the deck in the Spring, Summer, and Fall, or cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The Battenkill River is a great place to swim and do some river tubing. Did you bring your kayak or canoe? Cossayuna Lake is within just a 1/4 of a mile drive where you can freely launch into the lake and enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding area. Carter's Pond Wildlife Management Area is within a 1.5-mile drive; with fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking. Maybe take a scenic drive to Vermont to shop and leaf peep in the Fall. This cottage was fantastic! It was very peaceful and the hosts thought of everything you could need, very comfortable. We loved how it was close enough to everything that it took no time to drive anywhere but it’s far enough away to be able to escape. Thank you so much for a fantastic stay!

Saratoga Trip

We were spending time in Saratoga and found this very reasonably priced cottage about 30 minutes away. The one-bedroom cottage was set about 100 yards from the owner's main residence. There is plenty of privacy and the cottage included an outside area near the BBQ grill and a separate outside sitting area around a fire pit. The cottage is cozy, comfortable, exceptionally clean, obviously recently renovated, is has a great layout and it is beautifully decorated. The cottage includes everything you need for a nice getaway - I was very impressed with the full kitchen and all of the amenities supplied. The TVs and internet worked great. The property is set on 75 acres and the owner offers trails to explore if you have the desire to do so. Next time we are in the area, we will be back. Thank you again to the owners!

Christmas getaway

The little house is charming, cozy, with a beautiful view of Cossayuna lake. It had every comfort… wifi was great! The owners put in a personal touch for the Christmas holiday… lights, tree! It was perfect!

Lovely Fall Weekend Stay

The cottage was wonderful and had everything we could need for our getaway weekend. Very honey and comfortable. While not an issue for us, the steep steps to the loft bedroom could be a concern for some travelers. We definitely enjoyed the coffee nook each morning as we looked out at the beautiful fall colors across the field. It was very well appointed and it seemed that almost any detail was considered… they thought of EVERYTHING! We would stay again and recommend to others!

Peaceful Retreat

Great little cottage

The cottage was very clean and well appointed. Nice little touches all around that made the stay nice and everything very easy. House was very clean and very nicely decorated and furnished. I recommend this place highly.

The best so far yet!!

First, Stan and Christa went out of their way so that I could stay at their cottage. I'm from Nebraska and I have to sleep in a recliner due to a vertigo issue. There was not a recliner in the cottage, so I purchased one locally, and they were kind enough to pick it up and put it in the cottage for my stay. I have requested this from others and was kindly rejected by all. My point is there are very few places that have a recliner these days, and not willing to accommodate one. If that wasn't enough the cottage was very clean and had all I needed plus, I didn't want to leave. I would recommend this property highly; you will feel right at home. I will definitely be back if they will have me. Thanks again for a great stay!!

Clean and comfy

Comfort is the name of the game inside and outside. Fire pit, gazebo and outside eating area made it hard to decide where to spend our time. Inside comforting sectional and very nice bedroom made relaxing easy. Christa was so helpful with suggestions for restaurants and ice cream as well as parks to take a nice walk. Rolling hills are the view from all the windows. Just beautiful. Will be spreading the word about this cozy cottage😃

Lovely little house in a beautiful setting

I traveled solo to a two-night concert series at SPAC and had to look further afield for lodging because it was also race meet opening weekend. It did take me a solid 40 minutes to get from Saratoga Springs to this property, but it was definite worth the trip. Cute cottage that’s well-appointed and immaculately clean. Hosts communicated via email but made sure I had cell numbers in case of need. Check-in was painless (keyless entry system). I didn’t get to use any of the outdoor amenities, but there was a seating area, a gas grill, and a fire pit—all overlooking a gorgeous valley. Would definitely recommend!

Literal perfection. The space was beautifully decorated, extremely clean and offered every extra amenity you could think of. The owners were friendly and available if needed. We loved it so much we added an extra day to our stay to just sit and relax in their beautiful space and unwind.

Birthday get away

The cottage was cozy and at a fantastic location! It was clean and the perfect size. Great little country getaway!

I was looking for a spot near the Tour of the Battenkill bike race, and was lucky to find this gem. Pastoral springtime beauty all around, and a short drive to interesting towns with great food and drink. Would definitely come again!

Just what you’re looking for

The place is really thoughtfully done, arranged and furnished. The setting was superb in late October. I was there on my own to meditate and write. Wonderful. As always, when owners care about and take pride in their property it is always obvious. Don’t hesitate.

Cozy cottage in a peaceful atmosphere

My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend at Stan and JoAnn's cottage - I'd booked it as a birthday surprise! We were greeted with a surprise birthday cake and card - so sweet! The cottage was spotless, so cute, and so clean. We spent a lot of time out and about and wished we'd had a few more days to fully utilize the cottage itself. The firepit area was so nice overlooking the field. Stan and JoAnn provided really great restaurant recommendations and were communicative and helpful throughout. We look forward to coming back for an even longer weekend sometime soon!

A truly cozy cottage.

This little cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The hosts have thought of everything and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. For example, this was one of the only stays we have experienced that had enough hooks in the bathroom for clothing and towels while showering. The view is pastoral and lovely and we enjoyed sitting by the fire at night and enjoying the peace and quiet. In the morning we really enjoyed hearing the symphony from the goats across the street. I would highly recommend Stan and his family as they were very responsive and respectful of our privacy. A wonderful stay which I will likely repeat the next time we are in the area.

About the host

Hosted by Stan/Christa

I am a retired local 236 electrician who has yet to find the time to retire. My lovely wife and I have owned this property since 1985 and have had many horses in our past years (which my wife mostly cared for) I was lucky enough to build and repair barns, cut and bale hay and do maintenance work on our 75-acre farm. I guess that is what keeps us young.

Why they chose this property

In the late 1980s, this property which was a camp and rental sitting on acres adjacent to our property became available for sale. After some fixup we rented it for many years and after our last tenant moved we updated it and decided to try hosting with the help of our daughter, Christa, and her husband Scott who live near us.

What makes this property unique

The Cottage is located on a country road with nice views, offering peace and tranquility yet within a central location to Vermont, Saratoga, Glens Falls, and the Adirondacks.
