Unit was very clean and host was great! It was advertised as a single home, but it is actually attached to another unit. Because we were there off season there weren't many people there, so it was quiet. Pictures were accurate. Lake view was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay.
Misleading Listing with some annoyances but good views.
We rented this property for 3 weeks in late September/early October with friends. Upon arrival we were unpleasantly surprised to see that the dwelling was multi-unit – in other words, a large house split into 2 vacation rentals. Neither the VRBO description nor photos of this rental depict a multi-unit dwelling. Had I know this fact I would not have rented it, especially for a longer term rental like ours. The two units are separated by thin walls and a locked door.
Since there was not a clear delineation of out-door space, either physical or in the house rules, it’s up to the guests to determine which space to use. Most of the time this wasn’t a big issue, however, we had a large group of fishermen move in during the last week of our stay who presumed to use the entire outdoor space (full yard, deck (at times), and both docks); standing in our front yard for hours cleaning their catch every day and allowing little to no privacy to our group when outdoors.
Another annoying feature of our side is that there is no thermostat, so we were not able to control our own comfort level. When we asked the owner where the thermostat was, she indicated it was in the other unit but she could adjust it remotely, which she did. However, during our last week the other side turned off the heat leaving us to using blankets to keep warm.
Like a lot of VRBO’s the house is somewhat tired, however the location was great, and the deck/views were nice when we had the place to ourselves.
