Great Location

Corporate owners, communication was on personal boiler plate responses that provided no actual feedback. Asked for an early check in, got no response until the day after we already checked in, letting us know we could check in at the regular time. Again we had already checked in and had been on the property for 24 hours at that point. Outside of that property is in a greet location, great yard. There is no grill, which is a bummer, also just as an FYI there is nothing in the unit for cooking, fridge is cleared out, no salt or pepper even. So just be prepared for that. I would recommend the place for a stay.

Good place if you have a dog.

Good stay and very responsive hostess. I was hoping to extend and get a late checkout but the communication about that wasn’t very good via the multiple agencies that control the end user…it seems overly complicated to communicate yes/no if a late checkout is approved

Great getaway

We stayed here for the Thanksgiving break and had a great time. The only thing is the fridge made a weird noise that sounded like grinding but other than that everything worked fine. The kids had a blast and were sad to leave. We hope to return to the area in a couple of years

Sparse unsafe

The floor in the bathroom was curling and I triped on it twice. The bathroom was also missing a towel bar. The bedroom heater had pealing paint. The beadboard paneling in the hall way was loose and you could see where someone tried to fix it with tape. There was no dishwasher which I find unsanitary. No toaster, no extra blankets or no throws. In general, not cozy. Would not recommend.

Great spot

Loved the house and its beautiful backyard! Also the location is perfect. It’s only 4 minutes away from the park, quiet neighbourhood, and everything else you need for a relaxing weekend

Enjoy the stay!

My family and I had a pleasant stay here. Although there was some wear and tear on the interior of the home it didn’t affect the enjoyment we experienced during our stay. The backyard was huge but since it rained most of the time we didn’t spend much time back there. The home was furnished very well for the most part. I will suggest bringing a wine bottle opener since the one in the cabinet is broken, your own spices and trusty cook wear, and maybe some disinfectant wipes. Not a dirt place by any means just nice to wipe things down to be certain it’s clean. Access to the laundry room would have been nice but there’s a cipher lock on the door so if you plan of sitting up clothes during your stay get the passcode or find a near by laundry mat. Thank you the stay and take care. Bel, Andre, & Aubrey.

Mold

The code to get into this property is 12 digits and not easy to remember, and it took several tries. Not well cleaned at all. Master bedroom carpet is well worn and needs replacing. Bathroom has old linoleum that is not in great shape. In the newer style bathroom there were long black hairs. The dog door is battery operated but batteries were dead and no tools handy to change them. Best we could do to secure the open dog door was to put a coffee table in front of it with a chair. But anyone could have pushed that aside and gained entry to the house. The front gates to the fenced in yard did not and would not close. The yard is okay for big dogs but not small dogs. The gate on the deck has a very loose latch and also does not close. In the kitchen there is no tea kettle, or toaster. The hot pads provided are not appropriate and you could burn 🔥 your hands easily. When we opened up the coffee maker in the kitchen to make coffee it had never been cleaned and was full of coffee grounds and completely engulfed in mold. I have photos. We cleaned it out but I am very allergic to mold so I had quite the allergic reaction. It’s a nice location, and close to the park. Information on the house was hard to find, but finally found a book underneath the coffee table guest book has pages torn out and has been chewed on the corners. Not the best experience. The home could use a larger television too and there is only one. The newer bathroom shower leaves a lot of water on the floor.

Magic for our dogs

It’s always hard to find a place when traveling with dogs - we were so so so happy to have found this house on Whidbey Island. From the outside it doesn’t look like much - but the inside is super cute and the kitchen is brand new and remodeled - the king sized bed was heavenly and the YARD ! Mind blowing space to chase rabbits and fetch the ball and lounge in the sun. The hosts were incredibly responsive and we are so grateful to have had the time here. We walked over to deception pass park a few times - an easy stroll. We wanted to see the “sloth experience” with sloths and nocturnal animals that are just across the street on HWY 20, but didn’t find the time. Next time for sure. We hope to come back and possibly do a longer term stay if possible. Our only disappointments: there is a lovely dishwasher in the pictures of the house, but that has been removed so we did spend a lot of our vacation doing dishes - and there is no washer and dryer.

Conveniently located but disappointed with the property

I don’t typically leave review but I wish this home had reviews before booking. We rented this home because it was pet friendly and it was conveniently located to the Navel Base. Although the location was fantastic, the home is in need of a good cleaning - inside and out. The carpets need to be replaced because they smell of pet urine. Some of the home has been updated (pictures they show on listing) but the rest of the home has not been remodeled. I would not recommend this home and will not be returning.

Great pad for summer adventures

This is just 1 minute by car from Deception Pass State Park (there is also a path from the house directly into the park), the beach, Cranberry Lake, 2 minutes from Deception Pass itself, 20 minutes from Anacortes and similarly close to other Whidbey and Fidalgo destinations. The house itself is compact, but perfectly sized for our family of 4 plus dog. It has a huge yeard for dogs and a campfire, with a hedge of blackberries (ripe in late summer). The house was clean, had everything we needed, and the Vacasa folks were highly responsive when we had questions.

Great house in a nice neighborhood

The house is nice and clean, giant yard for your dog and children to play in. The yard is lined with blackberries and you can watch the wildlife come into the backyard. Property is next to the state park for easy access and only 15 minutes to oak harbor for shopping.

Not happy

This property really wasn’t ready for guests. It was pretty bare bones when it came to Basic necessities. The communication was terrible with the host. I was not able to get information about check out. There was no barbecue. No table on the deck. No cheese grater. There were dirty dishes put away in the cupboards and utensil drawer. No garbage can in the bathroom. No information about recycling. There was a full garbage can of empty glass bottles and cans in the garage. No bedside lamp in the spare bedrooms. No written information whatsoever at the property. It definitely has potential with the fenced in yard but really needs some work, especially considering the price!
