HISTORY: Designed as the nation’s first suburban shopping district for the automobile, the Country Club Plaza was the vision of developer J.C. Nichols. Seeking to create a real estate development that captured the allure of Spanish marketplaces, Nichols purchased several small lots of land in a swampy and undeveloped area in 1907 and opened the Plaza’s first buildings in 1922. Originally nicknamed “Nichols’ Folly,” the Country Club Plaza’s Moorish architecture now features more than $1 million in artwork, comprised of the district’s fountains, murals and more than 30 statues.

WHERE TO GET LUNCH: With 30 restaurants and 17 outdoor dining venues, the Country Club Plaza offers a diverse dining landscape to busy shoppers. The main level of this home features a comfortable living room with a large fluffy sectional that will fit your entire group. There is a large Smart TV so you don't miss your favorite show or can enjoy a movie night in. High speed internet is provided for all your connectivity needs. The living room has an open floorplan that leads right into to the dining room which has seating for six! Great for those home cooked meals or an evening of board games!

The first floor also includes a small half bath so guests don't have to use the one upstairs.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all major appliances, cookware and dinnerware and cleaning supplies. Enjoy a cup of coffee with one of many brewing options provided: Keurig coffee maker, drip coffee maker, pour over or a French press. A variety of K-cups, creamer and sugar are also included in every stay! The kitchen also has an entrance to the driveway area and access to the lounge area in the basement.

The Coach House offers two bedrooms which are located on the second floor of the home along with the full bathroom. One bedroom features a king size bed, workspace including a desk /chair, additional shelving and a large closet to unpack. The other bedroom features a queen size bed, bedside table and lamp, a full length mirror and closet space to store your belongings.

The bathroom is a full size that features a large vanity and shower/tub combo. One large bath towel and one wash cloth is provided per guest as well as dark make-up towels for convenience. The bathroom also has luxury bath products provided including: Tommy Bahama shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash.

The Coach House provides another great lounge area in the basement! The lower level features an additional lounge space with a Smart TV and board games! There is also a full size washer and dryer available for use in the basement for guest use!

Uber and Lyft rides are also readily available along with rentable bikes and scooters right outside your doorstep. The KC streetcar provides FREE rides from Union Station through the Power and Light District all the way to the City Market.
