We enjoyed our stay once again at Driftwood on the Beach! Place was very clean and ready for us earlier than expected. Cottage is in great shape and well stocked for all of our family’s needs. Catherine is very responsive to any questions that come up.
The six of us that stayed at Driftwood on the Beach, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visiting the surrounding area. The house was clean, neat, and very comfortable for the six of us. When some little things came up with the house or we had questions, Catherine was quick to reply and have answers for us. I would recommend this property to others who want a nice time away in this area.
Initially the worst thing was the large number of large dead fish on the beach and in the water with the terrible accompanying smell.
The cottage is beside large commercial fishing plants and directly in front of a water treatment plant.
I was in complete shock when the neighbour came running at us as apparently my 4yr old and I had stepped over the property line to get to the beach. Later, our small Hobie Wave was pushed by strong waves back on to the beach. This time, she was screaming and verbally abusive, bullying us and scaring our son.
We were not loud, or being disturbing. Just my husband, 4yr old and I.
Catherine messaged us quite rudely telling us that we were violating the rules by "trespassing" on the neighbours property.
We were already super defensive and complained strongly. She got angry with us and decided to punish us by having us leave immediately and resorted to threats and ignored all our calls.
Our 4yr old had not eaten yet, we fed and parked him in front of the TV and packed as fast as we could.
By 10:00 pm we were finally loaded up and got home around 3:00 am, continuing to get threatening messages from the owner until we left.
The level of verbal abuse, repeated threats of calling the police - as if we were doing something criminal?
Perhaps the color of our skin made them think that they can treat us the way they did.
We made a complaint with VRBO who said that they would monitor the owner for other reports of a similar nature.
this property had all that you could ask for. the owners thought of everything a person would need for a comfortable stay from a well equipped kitchen to a lint brush. my only next step would be a better bbq. the one there was adequate at best
We really enjoyed our stay at Driftwood! Very clean and well updates cottage with all the comforts of home! Very well maintained.
Great beach right out front which was very private.
Great deck at front of cottage for everyone to relax on!
Host was very responsive whenever we had a question.
We hope to stay here again next year!
We had a wonderful time at Driftwood. The place was lovely and clean with every amenity that we could want. The beds and bedding were comfortable. We spent most of our time enjoying the outdoors and still being protected by the covered deck. The only thing I can suggest is that the oven needs cleaning. Everything else was spotless.
The cleanliness of this cottage was out of this world! The kitchen was fully stocked with every small appliance imaginable! The private beach was perfect for swimming and relaxing in the sand! Furniture and beds were very comfortable. The washer and dryer came in handy after going to the beach. Neighborhood was quiet. The perfect cottage to get away and relax! We will be renting this again next year!
Where to start… overall expectations were exceeded.
Very well kept and very clean cottage. All amenities were available, more than we expected. More than enough dishes and cookware. There isn’t anything that we needed that wasn’t available.
Very nice decor. We celebrated my fathers Birthday and he was extremely happy with everything as well.
Catherine is a great and prompt communicator. We felt comfortable and safe and had a wonderful relaxing time during our stay. Lots of birds to watch. Sound of the waves can be heard throughout the property. Great atmosphere and great place.
Would highly recommend.
We had such a great week! The beach was lovely, a little rocky before you hit sand, but nothing water shoes didn't remedy. The lake was warm and the kids had a blast! The cottage was well appointed and Catherine was very responsive to our inquiries. Leamington is really close by for groceries and there is a beautiful park and beach there that I highly recommend visiting! Book this cottage!!
Great place for touring Point Pelee and local wineries and shops.
The inside amenities to the cottage could not have been more perfect. Kitchen well-stocked with appliances, cutlery and dishes, spices. The setting on the beach was excellent (the host had warned us about the black flies and they did indeed keep us from enjoying the beach but the porch was wonderful and the flies didn't disturb us as much there). The only request we would make for future guests is better outdoor chairs/lounges. These were not great. Wonderful host communication though! Thank you so much.
