Running water is a necessity

We walked in, there was no running water, beds were not made, sink was piled with dirty dishes, toilets were full of human waste. After waiting an hour and not getting any helpful response from the property managers, we left and had to make our own lodging arrangements for that night. 4 hours later, the property manager told us how to turn on the pumps for the well water and they would have the placed cleaned in the morning. For some reason, they thought we should sleep dirty beds and try and fix their problems with the water. This property was incredibly disappointing and the responses we were given were totally inadequate. Ruined our vacation in Taos.

Fantastic Stay

This quirky house was a perfect get-away. The sunset views were amazing! We were close to Taos but far enough away to truly enjoy the nature that surrounds the home.

Perched on a mountainside above Taos

Beautiful, unique house way up above Taos. Weather wouldn't let us spend a lot of time sitting outside but a beautiful retreat and great jumping-off point for exploring northern New Mexico.

Beautiful gem

We had a great stay at Peace & Pizza! It is a wonderful property, very unique and we loved that we could bring our pups along for the trip. The beds are very comfortable, especially the pillows and duvets. The kitchen is nicely stocked with all equipment that you could need, including a spice rack. We prefer French press coffee and were very happy to see that option as well as a drip coffee maker. I would definitely recommend AWD or 4WD vehicle for the road to get to the home.

Stunning sunrises and sunsets!

Property is thoughtfully arranged to provide enjoyment inside as well as outside. The eclectic home has high end appliances, pizza oven yet very few staples. The master bedroom is spacious with nice shower and soaker tub. The view is gorgeous. Road to house is bumpy but very manageable with all wheel drive. There was little snow, just enough for 2 dogs to enjoy on walks. Hated to leave. We had no issues during our stay and recommend the getaway.

Beautiful views and comfortable house but the property has some issues

We enjoyed this quiet and comfortable home with beautiful Mountain View’s in a remote location near Taos Ski Valley. However, the problems with running water that ranged from no running water to low pressure running water took away from our environment at this property. We had to trouble shoot the water pump inside the house and the outside one by the solar panels that nobody mentioned to us. We spent countless time in the phone with the local team trying to solve the problem that didn’t bring any resolution. In addition, the sewage smell that was the strongest in the laundry room and kitchen area wasn’t resolved either.

Beautiful home with some issues

The location and the house is beautiful. Plenty of amenities and great view of the mountains. However, we experienced some issues that made the experience average: 1. The water pressure was off due to a switch needing to be reset. This was not communicated to us, and Vacasa did not get back to us for a few days since reaching out. During this time, we were not able to take a proper shower or prepare meals. 2. There's a terrible sewer odor by the entryway/seating area outside. Most times it made it impossible to enjoy the sunset by the house. 3. The wifi is extremely spotty and working from this location would be a stretch.

Could be better…

The setting and the views were remarkable. But after that, this place starts to fall short and has some challenges. The water did not work when we arrived and I had to hike down the hill through mud and snow and reset the well controller and another pressure pump. The kitchen is not well equipped with some simple cleaning items like sponge, scrubber, drying rack, more than one dish towel, etc. which made cooking and cleaning for a small family a challenge. There is deferred maintenance and an ongoing roof leak in the living room. I’m not sure it was real clear how remote this house is and the level of treacherous road that needs to be driven. Without the right vehicle and driving experience, you could easily not make it to the property. For all the trouble, and due to my schedule, I requested a late check out (12pm), but was only offered to pay for a late checkout by Vacasa. 10am is too early when renting a whole house, and with no one coming in the same day or the next, I think a late checkout is the least they could have done. The place has some charm and character if you just stay on the surface. But we travel a lot, own rentals of our own, and I would say this place is not up to the standards that I expect from VRBO properties.

Great house, tricky road

This house was amazing! We loved all the details and the pizza oven was great! We did have to inquire about use of wood and didn’t get the right info but we still made it work. You would have to bring your own wood to use the oven. The road getting to the house was tricky and we were thankful there wasn’t more snow or we would have been stuck for sure, even in our 4wd. Don’t use the coordinates when trying to find this place as they sent us the wrong direction . There was an abundance of shampoo, lotions, soap, paper towels and toilet paper which seems to be a rare occurrence these days with rentals. We would love to stay here again as long as there isn’t much snow!

Peace and Pizza

This place is remote and tucked away up a four wheel drive road, spacious, lots of privacy, great kitchen, pizza oven, two ample sitting areas, comfortable beds, great sunlight. We had 9 people and it was very comfortable for us. Sunset views were amazing!! Sunrise on the east side of the house was also a must!! If you’re planning on being there for a few days or more we did end up having a shortage of paper towels and toilet paper and there was only one dish towel (for nine people and five days)

A Fall Weekend Away

We loved this property. It is eclectic and cozy. The house gives a family of 4 and 3 large dogs plenty of room. The drive to it is more than we expected but, to that note, the destination was perfect! Our favorite part of the weekend was the secluded and wonderful home. We loved the pizza oven! We did find hot water in the master bath to be an issue and the dual washer/dryer was not drying. Overall, we would absolutely come back again.

Unique House, Beautiful Views - Definitely off the beaten path

We had a great time during our stay. The views were 10/10. Other reviewers mentioned issues with wifi, we didn't have any issues during our visit. Only caveat, the house is about 10 minutes on a dirt road up the mountain. It isn't an easy trek to just pop into town if you forget to buy coffee or milk, so make sure that you plan accordingly. Definitely not somewhere you are going to be able to call an uber, so make sure you have your own vehicle (preferably 4WD). The views were worth it, but definitely remote.
