Relax in our clean, private, bright & spacious one-bedroom apartment/guest suite, attached to but completely separate from our house, with it's own private deck and entrance. Vaulted ceilings, skylights, full kitchen w/dishwasher, full bath, washer/dryer, in a quiet yet close-to-town setting. Nature all around. **Guests must drive on approximately 1.5 miles of unpaved road to get here!**

The place was just perfect. A cozy space with everything that is needed for a home away from home feel. Communication with the owner was friendly with fast replies. Christine checked with us to make sure all was well and if we needed anything else. The location was quiet and peaceful.

Wonderful, quiet place to escape to

The host has thought of a lot of little extras that make it extra nice. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to prepare means. Loved the quiet of the location and the windchime outside the window. I now have a new favorite place to get a way to for a few days.

Great space with thoughtful touches

Space was very clean and well stocked and we had everything we needed. Beautiful country setting but within 15 minutes of west side of Ann Arbor and 20 minutes to Saline. The skylights made a huge difference and really brightened up the place. My only suggestions would be to get a different chair for the living room as the cable chair is not really usable or comfortable and to allow guests to turn off the outdoor porch light in case someone is sleeping in the living room. Again, wonderful place, kind host, delicious fresh baked cinnamon bread…we would stay again for sure! Thank you!!

Ann Arbor Get Away for Work

Absolutely loved our stay in this charming VRBO rental. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to cook plus extra items like a French press, organic coffee, tea bag selections, and more. This place is located in Ann Arbor but out in the country where it was peaceful, quiet and could see all the stars in the sky. It was perfect for my visit for work.

Perfect in every way

We stayed here for U-MI graduation. It was close enough to go back and forth AND just what was needed to decompress from the crowds. (The bird feeder outside the window was so lovely). The space is beautiful and Chris’ attention to our stay — with tips @ the area and providing amenities many other rentals do not — was top notch. Don’t hesitate to stay in this lovely spot.

Serene stay in the country, close to our daily destination

We enjoyed our stay in this one bedroom apartment. The host Christine was responsive to questions both before and during the visit. The checkin and checkout process with keyless entry was smooth. We appreciated the many available kitchen spices during meal preparation. My adult son and I enjoyed several meals on the small outside deck. The cinnamon bread loaf was a delicious snack. The unpaved dirt road was as described both in the listing and also reiterated by the host when I booked. We visited in June and there was some rainy days resulting in some ruts and potholes along the way. Take it slow, allow for a few extra minutes, watch for deer (we saw several) and it was not an issue. It was so nice to be a short drive from both groceries and our early morning trips to the ice rink.

Beautiful

Very beautiful home. The hostess was very accommodating , friendly and provided a beautiful home. You will not have to worry about needing anything, this home had it all. So clean and done in great taste. Personal touch was a homemade coffee cake to welcome you and very good. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Cannot wait to return and enjoy again.

Relaxing in the country

Christine's place was great for our stay in Michigan and the cinnamon bread was very tasty. We would stay there again if plans and availability allowed. Travel on the dirt roads was not a .deterrent.

Hello! I'm Chris and we've lived in this house since the turn of the century (2000)! When travelling we've always preferred renting a home or apartment vs. a hotel, and I'm happy to offer our completely private guest suite apartment (attached to, but completely separate from, our home) for those who want to do the same. My husband grew up in Ann Arbor, I graduated from U of M and we simply never left this charming, vibrant community. We love our open space and nature, having downtown and campus only minutes away and would love to share it with you!

Why they chose this property

We are at the end of a private, unpaved road with only seven houses on it. It is very quiet with nature all around, which creates the feeling of being way out in the country with every convenience just 3 or so miles away. We are 6-7 miles (about 10-15 minutes) from the stadium and downtown Ann Arbor with all it has to offer, as well as conveniently located (~10-20 minutes) to the surrounding smaller communities of Chelsea, Dexter, Manchester, Pickney, Ypsilanti. Frutig Farms wedding venue is 2.3 miles away. Please note that due to slower travel on the unpaved portion of the road (about 1.5 miles) you will need to plan accordingly. If you are looking to be immersed in a 'downtown' experience, or aren't ok with driving on unpaved roads, then I can confidently say this is not a good fit for you! :-)

Beautiful, quiet setting that feels completely 'out in the country' with nature all around, yet all the conveniences of grocery stores, restaurants, etc., only 3 miles away!
