Had a great stay in Roanoke. It’s minutes away from the Mcafee Knob trailhead and 20 mins from Roanoke, VA. The property was great, chrck-in process was pretty smooth, and ample space to park 2 cars. There is also a firepit and we were graciously provided with firewood and some smores which we enjoyed after a day hike. I would definitely book again if I am back in this area.
We loved the cottage. A great place and accommodations that we would return to. 2 mile drive to McAfee parking lot and 20 minutes to Roanoke. Decor and vibe is calming. It’s really clean, and well supplied.
Stayed in Salem right outside of Ranoke for the USA finals National Mnt Biking races for 2025. Location was quiet, clean, modern, nice small cottage set up for family of 4. Good sized front yard area for yard games. Beautiful rose bushes on side of house that had lots of birds and bees visit. Close enough to hiking or biking trails near by via short drive and just far enough away from city to have a quite outside of Ranoke city area.It was too hot for us to use the bonfire but did enjoy the front large covered porch with rocking chairs in early mornings and evenings. Even sat out on porch while it rained. Liked that there was on site washer and dryer to use for dirty clothes post muddy biking. Outdoor water hose available to wash off the bicycles post ride as well. Definitely would stay there again.
Very nice property and close to all of our daily excursion. For the 3 rating on cleanness the outdoor furniture very dirty. Needed a good cleaning before able to use. The front and back. Also, all of the guests were the age of 65 and up and some grab rail in the shower would be nice and a mat for the tub. Please consider better quality of toilet paper.
Stayed here on our trip to Salem to ride some mountain bike trails, it was perfect for my group, great location near trails and very private, thanks again!
Wonderful cabin, so new and clean. Ideal location for hiking Triple Crown and others. 15 minutes to breweries, restaurants etc.
Quiet location. Fire pit was great addition. Highly recommend this property!
We absolutely loved this private little home nestled in the beautiful mountains of Appalachia (but only 15 minutes to everything). Thank you for supplying Smores for the fire pit! There was a little bird nesting in the front door wreath and it was sooooo quiet outside at night. We really enjoyed ourselves!
This was a great, up to date house. It was less than 10 minutes from Roanoke College and Salem. The neighbors are visible during the day but not close. Very quiet.
We had such a nice time! Everything we needed was right there. The cabin was super clean. The setting was perfect and so close to Salem. We enjoyed the firepit until we had a special visitor (a black bear)! Ha! Overall a great experience.
The Cottage was perfect for our stay! It was very clean and nicely updated. The kitchen was well stocked. We missed out on using the fire pit due to it raining during our visit. It was very thoughtful to leave a supply for s’mores. I loved sitting on the rocking chairs on the covered porch. We saw deer every day! We even befriended the dog across the street who followed us home. Great place to stay.
