If you are searching for a quiet countryside retreat close to the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and the Keuka Lake Wine Trails, look no further! The large deck boasts beautiful 360-degree views of the countryside and Lamoka Lake in the distance - experience spectacular sunsets! The central locale offers fantastic access to the best of the Finger Lakes Region.

Upstairs, the open great room is detailed with high ceilings with wood beams, contemporary furnishings, and picture windows showcasing the views. The pristine kitchen offers a full suite of appliances and ample cookware. Downstairs, a bonus kitchen has a stove/oven, microwave, sink, and mini-fridge. Play darts in the galley game room or watch a movie on the TV in the downstairs living area. Gather everyone around the firepit when evening falls for some toasted s'mores and good conversation.

Sewer overflow & bad management

We recommend you do not book this place or any Vacasa-managed property in the region. The septic tank overflowed, filling up the entire bathtub and spilling out the toilet onto the floor. The tech came out and immediately called this a health hazard (human feces filling the shower and spilling onto the floor). Vacasa support took five hours to find us a new place, which was over 30 minutes away, and we couldn't use the water or bathrooms while we repeatedly tried to get answers from the local management. The place they relocated us to was a significant downgrade, and I have been trying to receive a refund from them for three days now. A full refund would be reasonable after this, but we won't be receiving that. The home owner failing to empty the septic tank is a big enough oversight (after all the other reviews here noting the smell we experienced & septic issues), but Vacasa's handling of this situation is our main frustration, and the main reason you should look for another place.

A great house!

We were very pleased with the house which, if anything, exceeded our expectations based on the photos. It was clean and comfortable with a nice kitchen and plenty of toilets. The deck with great and we spent one very pleasant evening sitting there, talking under the stars. (We liked the place enough that we are talking of a return in a year or two.) The only real complaint is that trucks on the nearby hill can drown out conversation on the deck -- fortunately there were not many.

Great family getaway

Great scenic view from the huge porch. Very spacious house for a larger gathering. A short drive into town is well worth it. Plenty of room to play outdoor games. Unfortunately the house is located near a relatively busy corner but it is quiet at night. Very peaceful evenings around the fire. Great place to stay.

Beautiful house with beautiful views

This house was conveniently located a short distance from Watkins Glen and the Seneca Lake wineries. The house is updated and very comfortable. I highly recommend renting here if you are travelling in the Finger Lakes.

Great first trip to the Finger Lakes

This was our first time visiting Seneca Lake and the Finger Lakes. We had a fabulous hike at Watkins Glen and a seamless experience checking in to our property. We were actually notified by text that we could arrive an hour early. The house was a short distance from Watkins Glen and we liked that. We found the house clean and ready for us. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and the necessary equipment to cook a meal. The two floors made it easy to accommodate our group of 7, 3 of us shared the upstairs bathroom and powder room while the others each had a bathroom downstairs. The hosts seem to have made the most out of a smaller home yet it had plenty of room for all of us upstairs around the table and in the living room and kitchen area as well. The view is beautiful and the outside patio area with a fire pit was fantastic. We brought our own wood and had a great time in the evening around the fire. We truly enjoyed ourselves. As for ideas the owner may consider, these were our negatives and areas that could be improved. The biggest concern was the smell downstairs. We understood the septic system was fragile and followed all rules there. However, the larger bedroom smelled unless the fan was on. All towels had a funny smell too. Second bedroom upstairs needs better lighting than just the light on the wall. We were not able to stream any tv. Just some thoughts to make the experience better, thank you 😊

The house was very nice but we did have an issue with the dishwasher that was never resolved during the stay. I called for assistance and they said someone would call back to come fix it but never did. Also, it should be noted that the house is right on a fairly busy road for the area so not as secluded as the pictures might suggest. Would not recommend small children as it's not fenced in. Pros are the house is nicely laid out and the scenery is lovely. 15 minute drive to Watkins Glen.

Amazing views

We spent a week over Columbus Day weekend. The fall colors were beautiful and the view from the deck amazing. The house was beautiful as well. Very clean when we arrived and plenty of space for our family. Our granddaughter loved running in the back yard and the patio was spacious and perfect for enjoying a fire in the fire pit. We enjoyed the location as it was just a short drive to the waterfalls in the area and the wineries. I would highly recommend this spot if you want to get away and relax.

Beautiful home in a lovely location

This home was beautiful and immaculately clean. It was perfect for our family gathering of eight (adults) We loved the stunning views from the deck and patio. It was so relaxing to sit by the fire pit and enjoy the sunset. It was perfectly located for lots of entertainment in the area, including the Farm Sanctuary (right up the road), Watkins Glen State Park, and the town of Ithaca. We even found an adorable little town on Keuka Lake nearby (Hammondsport) Even back at the house there was plenty to do. Besides the fire pit, we enjoyed playing darts and corn hole provided by the owner. We would highly recommend a stay there. You will not be disappointed!!

Our week on Aikens Road

This house is located just off a beautiful country road around 8-10 miles from the village of Watkins Glen, with no other properties in sight. The panoramic view of the beautiful grassy meadow is the strongest feature. However, the online listing is misleading in that the property is made to appear to be close to a lake. In fact, the lake in the photo is MILES away. Some downsides future tenants should be aware of: 1) there is NO washer-drier; 2) there is NO garbage disposal; 3) a mouse emerged on the lower level. 4) One has to travel 15-20 minutes or more to reach any shops, restaurants, or other businesses. 5) There was only a minimal supply of toilet paper.
