Bloomingdale Honeymoon Cabin Vintage Retreat with Mountain Views
There are so many wonderful things to do nearby. For the outdoorsy adventurers, there is hiking nearby in the Shenandoah National Park and the Rapidan River is just across the street. Liberty Mills Farms is just down the road and we are 5 minutes from the Market at Grelen. For this history buffs, we are 5 minutes away from Montpelier, 15 minutes away from historic downtown Gordonsville and 45 min from Monticello. We are near several top rated wineries including: Barboursville and Keswick. 30 minutes from Charlottesville and 5 min from Orange. There is also plenty of antiquing nearby! Bloomingdale Cabin is a four room single floor house with a mix of vintage furnishing locally sourced from nearby antique stores. Our front room has a large farm table that is great for enjoying a meal, playing a game or spreading out for a work retreat. The kitchen has all the basics covered with a stove-oven and mini-fridge. We also have a toaster, kettle and french press so you can take advantage of the beautiful mornings here. The bedroom has a queen bed that overlooks our barn from the 1800's. There is also sofa futon in the living room that can accommodate a child or small adult. We recently added a smart TV to the living room area. The front porch provides ample space for watching sunsets or outdoor dining when the weather allows. Our guests have access to our salt water pool, and grill area when in season (May-Sept). The garden gazebo is also accessible year around and has some yard games like croquet and corn hole. These common areas are shared with us and other guests staying on the property. There is a dedicated parking pad for the cabin in the backyard across from the barn or parking available in front of the garage.

The cabin was the perfect way to spend a weekend getaway. The views at sunrise and sunset were to die for. It was just as nice spending time in the cabin as it was hiking in Shenandoah and exploring nearby Orange. The entire weekend was such a nice escape from the city. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.
We really enjoyed the peaceful, easy feeling out in the country! The pool is wonderful.
The location is great for little day trips to Gordonsville, Orange or Charlottesville. Plenty of places to eat, drink and then unwind in the porch watching lightning bugs
Gorgeous views and beautiful barn. The farm cabin was very comfortable, but the shower was a little tight. Suggestions on things to do locally was very helpful. Great location! Very relaxing and fun!
Loved our stay! Location, so peacful, and cozy. Fun short trips in all directions. A small microwave would have been helpful. And more towels and/or use of washing machine. Thank you again!
This cottage at Bloomingdale was simply outstanding. First of all, Sam is one of the friendliest and most hospitable of hosts! The property and surroundings take your breath away. We plan on returning as often as we can. WE LOVE THIS PROPERTY!! We HIGHLY recommend!
The cabin is cozy and really helped us to unplug! We enjoyed the salt water pool and cool breezes. Picked up sandwiches at Yoder Market and ate in the cute gazebo. Easy to get to dinner options. We grilled out the second night and relaxed on the covered porch. Happy Anniversary, indeed!
Our stay was very wonderful and quiet. My wife and I very much enjoyed peacefulness and how beautiful property is . House was very clean well maintained. Only issue My wife and I had was shower curtain was not long enough plus you can’t really adjust shower head so this causes a lot of water to drip on floor other than that we would definitely stay again .

Great location
The house was actually very clean but the front porch and the porch furniture were dirty and covered in cobwebs. Chairs and tables would need to be cleaned before anyone could sit there, which is too bad because it's an ideal spot for porch-sitting. Same is true of the gazebo which was unusable because of its condition.
The cabin was old but charming. Missing some modern comforts but nothing that can’t be worked around. We enjoyed exploring the area and small towns. Many wineries around as well.
