Beautiful cabin, beautiful location. The cabin was equipped with everything one could possibly need. Laura was a great host. We plan to stay here again next season.
If you are looking for a serene waterfront getaway, away from the crowds, this is definitely the place. Plenty to explore and kayaking with the seals was amazing. Pictures don’t do it justice and Laura was a very attentive and all around great host.
This place is even better than described. We had a wonderful relaxing long weekend with our pup on this beautiful property. The only downside was having to leave. Thank you for everything Laura!
Very nice house-spacious, comfortable. The most memorable part of our stay was the absolutely stunning water view off the deck-beautifully serene. Close to Acadia State Park/Bar Harbor. If you're looking for quiet, secluded comfort, this should be your choice. Thanks, Laura
This is a special property-- it is extraordinarily private and peaceful, set at the end of a long driveway off Newburyport Road in Surry, Maine. The deck of the house towers above a private rocky beach (perfect for kayaking) amidst stands of pines and birches. The little touches (good deck furniture, sunshades, a good gas grill, a well-outfitted kitchen) make this a pleasant place to stay if you want to get away from the hub-bub. Since it's on the Surry peninsula, you're about 25-30 minutes from Ellsworth or Blue Hill, so it's not for people who want to go out for every meal. But if you want to hear the seals in the bay, and relax comfortably in nature, then this is an ideal place.
Took a trip with my sister and brother-in-law to see Acadia National Park. The house was within a 30 minute drive and situated in a beautiful area of Surry. Pictures do not do this house justice!!! It is beautiful and you feel as if you are in a German Chalet. The house was immaculate, beds super comfy, everything you need was supplied in the kitchen (except an oyster shucking knife, lol), but we made due ;) Blue Hill is amazing for shopping and I highly recommend dinner at the Arborvine and Brew Pub House for Oysters!!! Would definitely come back and just stay and enjoy water activities the next time as it was so amazingly beautiful and peaceful here!!! Check in and out super easy!! Loved it!!
Really enjoyed staying at this rental property. My wife and I enjoyed the quietness and privacy of this location. I would highly recommend this place for anybody looking to take a vacation.
Beautiful home with all the necessities. Our family of four enjoyed stargazing, kayaking with the seals and local lobster rolls from Perry’s (twice). Day trips to Schoodic Peninsula, Gotham & Cadillac mountain hikes and Bar harbor all an easy drive. Our first visit to Maine, hopefully not the last. Thanks for a wonderful week!
Everything about our stay at Laura’s cottage was wonderful. We were greeted by a gentle breeze and the sound of the ocean upon exiting our vehicle. The photos in the listing are a little deceiving as the view from the deck was more beautiful than I was expecting. We spent a lot of time taking in that gorgeous view! The cottage was super clean and tidy - perfect for our family of four. We were very comfortable and felt right at home. We did many things out and about, but our favorite by far, were our kayak trips out to the islands. Really… a little piece of heaven. So breathtaking and restful- an absolutely perfect stay. Thank you so much Laura!
This property is exactly what we were looking for. Quiet solitude with an incredible view. The huge front porch overlooking the bay was amazing. We saw seals, an eagle, and the sound of the loon at dusk was awe-inspiring (not to mention stargazing at night!). The bed was very comfy, and we had all of the comforts of home. Our dog loved playing on the beach and swimming in the water. The hiking opportunities are endless (Blue Hill, Acadia). It was very easy to disconnect here and just enjoy being immersed in nature. We will definitely be back.
Pictures don’t do this cabin rental justice. Nice, relaxing and close to everything you would want to see and do. The house had everything supplied you could possibly need! Highly recommend!
The house is lovely, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The location is private, quiet and beautiful. We enjoyed the seclusion (a welcome change from city life) and relaxing on the huge deck, walking on the beach or the private road, watching the sunset, and hiking nearby trails in Blue Hill and Surry. We took several trips to Acadia for hiking (about an hour drive, give or take?) and made note of many other places (parks, towns, restaurants, trails) we'd like to visit on our next trip.
Beautiful private and quiet location. Watching the sunset from the deck was amazing! The cabin is clean and well stocked I would definitely stay here again.
This is a quiet, beautiful area. The property is better than advertised, with lovely sunset views, a beach area that we had to ourselves and all the comforts you need. We had no issues at all and felt right at home. If you’re looking for a place to rest and recreate, this is it.
Thank you, Laura!
Great property, as advertised. We were supposed to visit in 2020, but we all know about 2020 plans. Thankfully we were able to visit this year. The cabin is wonderful, overlooking the bay. We enjoyed listening to the water every evening and watching the sunsets. Secluded location with a long driveway that we walked each day with the dogs. Porcupines, deer, wild turkeys, seals, loons, and a eagle were just some of the wildlife we saw. Laura was great and ensured we had everything we needed, including lobster pots and cooking instructions. Don't hesitate and book a stay on Lois Lane.
This log home is beautiful. It has a very cozy Maine feel and is very private. You will find everything you need for a comfortable stay. Comfy beds, all the kitchen implements you could want, and a deck to spend time outside overlooking the water. The beach is beautiful. We had it to ourselves. The cove is sparsely populated, so it’s very secluded. Our dogs loved playing on the beach. We watched loons in the morning and even a seal one evening. The long private road was a highlight. It winds through the woods where we saw turkeys, deer, and rabbits on our daily walks. Perry’s Lobster is a fun nearby place - and we brought Pugnuts delicious Ice Cream home for a treat. Close enough for a day trip to Acadia, but we found that the Blue Hill Heritage trails were more nice, more convenient and less crowded. I have already recommended this place. It can’t be beat!
We loved kayaking with the seals, lounging on the deck and watching the tide go in and out, running and playing ball with our dogs on the beach. Got lobster (rolls or the lobster himself) almost every night from Perry's.
amazing property on the beach and in the woods, very peaceful and well kept. Pictures cannot do this place justice, extremely pleased with our stay and will be back.
Cute, clean, private, well-stocked cabin tucked away in the woods with great ocean views. Owner was very responsive and attentive to any questions, especially when a minor electrical outage occurred during our stay. Really appreciated the use of kayaks and all the helpful local information. (Perry's lobster shack down the road has amazing blueberry pie! ) Cabin was just under an hour drive to Acadia; overall a really cozy place to stay!
