The upper level is a loft-like sleeping area with three rooms; queen size bedroom, two twin bed room, and a bunk room. The upper level has a half bath with a sink and toilet. The property was perfect for our weekend stay in Bear lake. The outdoor grill and fire pit were perfect for our group. Check in and check out process were seamless and the owners were very helpful.
We've made several vacation trips up to Bear Lake, it's a family favorite. And this house is a fantastic place to stay. It's in a great location on the lake, the house is comfortable, the dock is right there, there's a nice fire pit for cool summer nights, and it easily accommodated 7 adults and one infant. Highly recommended.
My family of five had a great time staying at this cottage; it was the best stocked vrbo we've ever stayed at and was immaculate. Fire wood was provided for the fire pit, it has a nice sandy bottom lake area around the dock, lots of deck area and outdoor tables & seating area. Comfortable interior with lots of kitchen supplies, games & books. Lake and neighborhood were quiet.
The cabin was perfect. A great amount of common area space - both outside on the deck and inside in the kitchen-great room. The lake is beautiful. Large wade-in area for the enjoyment of kiddos and the family dog. Would definitely stay here again.
3rd year staying here. Great beach. Kids love it. Very easy to launch kayaks and SUPB. Hosts are very nice people. Dog friendly, just be respectful and use the supplied blankets for the dog. Looking forward to next year.
Beautiful property and lake. Nice beach area, deck and fire pit. All the towels, blankets and necessities you might need are supplies. Great property manager (very nice and informative). Perfect up north retreat.
We had a great time with our family. The house is big and comfy. Quiet area, great walking, nice little back yard for family time, games, relaxing. The only issue we really had was the circular staircase. It’s narrow and it’s easy to miss the last step which happened. The opening is small as well.
The house was very comfortable. Everyone slept well as beds were comfortable and the chairs/couches allowed for enjoyment inside. The listing was accurate. Quiet neighborhood. We had cool, rainy weather, but the dock and sandy area were nice. We were able to keep our fishing boat secured. The covered grill area was great due to the weather. We enjoyed visiting the towns, shops and hiking areas near by. We hope to return again to enjoy the outdoor activities available at the house.
Very nice property on a beautiful lake front lot. Perfect location for golfing Arcadia and close to the Ironfish distillery.

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Not what expected
The positives: The property manager communicated well and the lake is beautiful with a sandy bottom. The outside deck is large. The house is stocked with towels, spices, etc.
The negatives: The house is very outdated, minus the bedroom/partial bathroom redone/painted on first floor. The furniture in living room is old and musty/mismatched and very outdated curtains, etc. The fireplace was all dusty and old. The house, in my opinion, smelled musty. The silverware is ancient and tarnished. We felt it was needed to be stainless steel and purchased plastic wear. The upper part has twisty stairs that is difficult, except for children. I'm not sure how they claim it to be 3 bedrooms. It is almost like a loft they divided with dividers, and only one has a door that shuts. The pictures are deceiving about size of rooms upstairs, and the queen bed "room" has a divider. The carpet and decor upstairs is very, very dated. They also left soap bars in all the showers/baths that had hair on them. We thought that was not sanitary and gross.
It was 8/8 people's opinion that having old family photos, family books, and family diplomas, etc all over the walls is not appropriate when you are renting your property out. I've rented numerous houses and none have had anything like that. Most have an owners closet that they take their personal stuff out when they use the home and lock it back when they rent.
I think the house has a lot of potential if they make some much needed updates.
Breezed in for a quick weekend golf trip at Arcadia Bluffs. Great setup and location for our group of 4. Was able to checkin early enough before our Friday afternoon round, was able to make some great grilled meals after our rounds, and even took a dip in the frigid October lake temp. 10/10 would rent again!
This is the chant my 3 year old makes every time we watch the slide show of our long weekend at Bear Lake, but I admittedly join in, too. I grew up spending a week each summer at Bear Lake, but it had been 20 years since I had been and I couldn’t wait to continue the tradition with my wife, kids, and in-laws. We booked this rental, and it was everything we hoped it would be. The house has a true rustic lake house feel that definitely adds to the “authentic Bear Lake experience.” The open floor plan and large windows on the main floor create a wonderful ambience with a great view. We loved the side of the lake we were on, watching the sunrise and sunset from the end of the pier, sitting next to the fire pit at night, listening to the neighbors music, and gazing at the stars. The only drawback of this property is that it doesn’t have AC. Northern Michigan is often cool enough that it isn’t needed, but on hotter days the AC was missed—especially in the bedrooms on the top floor. Overall though, we loved our stay!
This property was perfect for a relaxing getaway on the lake with friends! The hosts had so many personal touches, it really felt like home!
