You'll be close to it all - the beach, golf, restaurants, and shops - at this three-bedroom home on the soundside of Kill Devil Hills. Spend your mornings splashing in the ocean waves, your afternoons taking in the views on the roof deck, and your evenings unwinding in the ultra-private hot tub beneath a sky full of stars. Enjoy a quiet and peaceful neighborhood location, with direct access to a running/walking/biking pathway along Bay Drive - a fantastic way to begin or end vacation days. Traveling with a boat or jet skis? There is a convenient boat launch approximately a half-mile away at Dock Street. The Outbanks YMCA is only six miles away where you'll have exclusive access to the entire facility and can enjoy additional fun, like a splash or two in the indoor/outdoor pool!

This house is a delight to come home to after a day spent at the beach, offering an outdoor shower to rinse away any lingering sand, a washer/dryer to take care of the swimsuits and towels, and a gas grill on the ground floor to assist with a barbecue lunch. There’s also a children’s picnic table so your group can share alfresco meals together. You can let your dog out in the fenced yard and find a relaxing seat on the patio, the mid-level deck, or the rooftop crow's nest, furnished with an outdoor dining table.

Inside, the main living space is on the second floor, offering central air conditioning and plentiful seating, while a sunroom is the ultimate space for curling up with a good book or sipping drinks with friends. Get dinner going in the open kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a French-door refrigerator and a gas range) and set the dining room table. The evening hours are best spent watching movies on the sectional in the living room or retreating downstairs to the den for a foosball tournament.

Family Time - Rest and Relaxation

We stayed in and cooked most of the time. We played games and watched sports and hung out together. We did go out together for lunch and shopping, but we never felt crowded at all. There was plenty of space and the kitchen was well stocked for a chef's family like our own. The house was very clean and beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful home

Beautiful home on a quiet street close to the water. We absolutely loved our stay there. We were there for ten days and had plenty to do in the area.

Nice house but property manager lacks

The home was nice but the property management company lacks cleaning. The sunroom smelt like dog pee, not sure if it was the room itself or the two dog beds in there. There were stains on the carpet of the master bedroom, which isn’t a huge deal but it likely could’ve come out with a carpet cleaner.

Beware Managed by Vacasa

This is the second Vacasa property I’ve rented from VRBO and I’ll be sure to never do that again. They are the worst property management company to deal with. We arrived very early, which is fine, we don’t expect check in that early but they wouldn’t let us check in a minute before 4pm when the property was ready at 12 when we got into town. Mind you, was no one staying there the night before. The place was very dirty on the outside and there’s mold growing on the garage door that I brought to their attention. They asked if they had permission to enter the property to take a look and I said no, they could do that when we leave. They still sent someone out against our request. The inside of the house was also not cleaned well, there was sand everywhere. (To be expected with a beach house but this was excessive). The worst part was smell though, it reeked of pet urine and cleaning products. Which immediately triggered my husbands and sons asthma. The carpet in the living area smells so bad we had to fold it up and sit it outside. That instantly took care of most of the smell. There was no hand soap for any of the bathrooms, which is usually standard at rentals. I suggest they get beach towels for the hot tub too. I’ve never stayed at a beach rental without beach towels. Most if not all of these issues is at fault of the property management company. So, if you’re the owner of this property, I highly suggest you find a different company. They are doing the bare minimum, if that.

Good place to stay but needs some upgrades

We picked this house because we wanted to be in KDH and liked the amenities listed (especially the hot tub). The house is spacious and has a great layout. The sun room and crow’s nest are especially charming. The house is within walking distance to the sound and a fishing pier where you can see great sunsets. The backyard needs a lot of TLC: there is no lighting and the path to the hot tub is unsafe. The trees hang over the hot tub so expect not to see any stars, but you will see rodents running around on the limbs! We were also disappointed that this house didn’t have some of the most basic things that other VRBOs have such as no hair dryer (though we brought our own), no beach towels for the hot tub, no salt and pepper or cooking spray or other basics in the kitchen, limited cooking utensils. We also arrived to wet towels in the washer, clean dishes in the dishwasher, and one bed unmade. Despite the hiccups, it’s a decent place. Just needs some TLC.

Our vacation @ Serenity Sound 9/2/23-9/9/23

We had a pleasant stay, however the house could have been cleaner based on the price I paid to stay there for the week. The wood floors were sandy and dirty, the kitchen counters didn't look like they were wiped down at all, the sheets for the beds were either too large or too small for the, and the mattress in the queen and king sized rooms were pretty hard. As far as location of the property I felt it was in the heart of everything that we wanted to do. On the positive side we really enjoyed spending the evenings on the upper deck or playing a mad game of foos ball in the basement.

Pet friendly!

Loved the yard for my dog to run around in. Also close to Bay Street which has water areas for your dog to run. House was nice inside and worked for us with a teen that could sleep in the downstairs area with his own TV. Close to all the amenities!

Winter Beach Stay

This wonderful home was everything that was promised and more. The location was perfect - adjacent to the Bay Dr. waterfront, a few short blocks to the beach, and central to all that the Outer Banks have to offer. The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly. The home itself is beautifully decorated while at the same time being comfy and cozy. It is well-equipped with everything you could possibly need and is very nicely maintained. We enjoyed the hot tub on some chilly afternoons. We were travelling with our dog and she loved the fenced in area. We can’t say enough good things about this rental property, and can’t wait to return.

Welcome home!

We felt so welcome the moment we drove in the driveway! The house is on a quiet street and close to walking areas. Inside is decorated with great accents in every room. The kitchen is beautifully thought out with dishes, cooking utensils, everything you would need. It is a great family vacation home. The sunroom was a great bonus with so many windows, we enjoyed the rooftop in the evening, and the game room was perfect for a fun night at home. We enjoyed our visit!

Great place to stay on the Sound Side

We loved this home - so clean and comfortable. It is right on the sound path for taking walks. It was cooler when we were there so the hot tub was extra nice.

Great house near sound

This house was located in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen was furnished very well and the gas range was an added touch. Every room was comfortable and seemed to have added touches for coziness. If we visit the outer banks again, this house will definitely be the one we look to rent again.

April Stay in the Outer Banks

Lovely well equippled home that welcomed dogs. Nice to have a fenced in garden but note that you have to go through 2 gates so if you have escape artists (we have beagles) they will need to be taken out. Home had all that you need, a lovely beach theme and was clean and tidy with plenty of living space for the number of occupants.

Great weekend

A total of 5 of us came down for the end of Bike week. I had found this house online and it was perfect for us and much cheaper than the hotels were asking for 3 rooms. Verty nice house in a quite neighborhood. We had agreat time. The only thing I wish would have been different was you can't turn the air down past 73. With the high ceilings in the bedrooms and not so much in the hall where the themostat was it got a little warm in the bedrooms. I was glad you had fans in the closets for this issue. Maybe move it to 71 at the lowest would be just right. I do look forward to coming back and staying here again,,Soon I hope.
