The place was Amazing. Exactly what we needed and the view was perfect. Everything we needed was provided. We will definitely stay again next time we come that way. Had issues with getting any of the doors to lock and the shower head in the bathroom in the hall was bad.

Much Needed Peace

This is such a lovely property! So peaceful on the patio in the mornings and evenings. Getting to pet the owner's horses was a bonus, too! Super fast communication for any needs from the host. Split bedrooms make it perfect for couples. Close to the main street in town but still 'away'. Highly recommend for a trip to Ft. Davis!

Fort Davis Hacienda

This was an excellent choice for us. very well appointed and equipped. We came for the night sky and the McDonald Observatory. the Milky Way was spectacular

MUST STAY: Charming and Cozy Get Away

Our host has done a outstanding job of making this property a perfect blend of comfort and charm. This was our base during our time in Ft Davis area. It had all we needed and so much more. It felt like every detail to the property was well thought out with the comfort of the guests in mind. As soon as you walk in each room you further into this comfortable atmosphere. So many little touches though out the house brought so much to the magic of this place. The porches were so great for watching nature at its best, both front screened with rockers and calming wind chimes to the back porch with breathtaking views. Each day it was a pleasure to come back , unwind from our day. With a full kitchen it was easy to prepare our meals and pack our cooler for the day of adventure. Thank you to our Host we loved our stay and our time in the area.

Beautiful Home in Fort Davis

Well appointed home in Fort Davis, 2 minutes from town but feels very secluded. Wonderful antique furnishings and great kitchen. 25 minutes to McDonald Observatory and 30 minutes to Balmorhea State Park (don’t skip this swimming hole, it’s awesome!). Quaint, quiet and secluded, don’t miss out on this place!

We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful this home was …… line shack wasn’t new term for us . But it was amazing . So glad we got to stay there . Beautiful bathrooms and great places to watch the sun rise and set .

A vacation from vacation

We loved our stay at Judy’s line camp! It was perfect after a four day stay in Big Bend to have a nice place to recoup from the schedule of vacay! We chilled and enjoyed watching the horses and cows and oh my…the view from the back porch was spectacular. Very peaceful!

Enjoyed our stay!

This is a great cozy house tucked in the mountains. Very clean and comfortable. We had a great stay and enjoyed the Mountain View’s and the horses on the property. Would definitely stay here again!

Davis Mountains

We loved this charming house! We found everything we needed during our stay. The patio was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the view, horses and cattle. Stargazing does not disappoint out here. Amazing dark skies! This is a great location and we enjoyed all the cozy aspects to this home. Super fast communication with the owner. Definitely would stay here again.

Very Memorable

We simply loved our stay at Judy’s Line Shack. The views of the West TX landscape, which we so love, were amazing. The peacefully grazing horses made it even more wonderful. The home is delightfully decorated, and we had everything we need. We have been to Ft. Davis many times over the years, and we are so happy to have found Judy’s Line Shack for our future visits! Great stay

House is beautiful. Furnished beautifully. Location is very quiet and peaceful. If there is a negative the internet runs at about 5mbps. No gaming available. Everything else was wonderful!

Beauty and Serenity

We rented Judy's Line Shack in Ft. Davis, Texas as a key part of our 40th wedding anniversary and loved it! The home is delightful with big windows, gorgeous mountain views and a big screened porch to enjoy the breeze. The Davis Mountains, McDonald Observatory and Madeira Canyon have long been favorites ours offering awesome star gazing. It was wonderful to have such a nice home as our base. We highly recommend it! Fort Davis and McDonald Observatory

Great place to stay when visiting the McDonald Observatory, Davis Mountain State Park, Fort Davis and the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center. Nice kitchen for meal prep, wonderful front porch and great back patio for star gazing.
