About this property

A Coldwater Chain lake property located on (East) Long Lake. The first house in on the channel, our location allows for quick and easy access to the lake and provides beautiful views. Guests can bring their own boat, or rent from a local marina and tie up to our dock! Enjoy the abundant sunshine from Adirondack chairs or the deck furniture and under an umbrella. The large yard makes it easy to spread out, play games, and enjoy the fresh air.

FIVE STARS!!!!!

Start to finish and top to bottom this rental is by far the best overall that we have ever stayed in! Everything is as stated. The kitchen is stocked with a wide variety of cookware - crock pot, electric skillet, plenty of pots and pans, toaster, blender, plastic wrap for leftovers, paper towels, plastic storage containers and ... The dishes are color coordinated with the home decor, the cabinets are organized and the wine glasses are glass. BONUSES: 1.Sanitized or brand new sponge was waiting inside a zip lock baggy at the kitchen sink. 2.Towels and bedding were very nice. 3.Outdoor furniture on point! 4.View was perfect because we could watch nature in the canal and still see boats, jet skies etc. from the deck. (We bought binoculars in order to bird watch) 4.We used the kayaks and our friend brought his boat and snugged it up to the dock for several days. 5.Coldwater is 12 minutes away and we went their for dinner at the restaurant on the train tracks, Trainwreck Grill. We also saw a musical at the Tibbits historical theater. 6.We enjoyed seeing many Amish families in their buggys. Super Clean!

A little paradise.

We stayed at this property for a month and it was the cleanest place that I’ve ever been to. And Rachel did not miss a trick. The house is stocked so well and we so enjoyed the boathouse. When it was too cold to go out on the boat, we fished in the boathouse or when it was raining. Rachel was very attentive to our every need and I would definitely stay there again. I would get up early in the morning and watch the sunrise and took some beautiful pictures of the sunrise and sunset. Overall, it was a 10.

Superb!

Our second time renting this gem and we will be back again I'm sure! Great canal/lake views, tons of turtles, very relaxing, fully equiped kitchen, clean to a T, pet friendly, games, water toys, comfy beds and extremely personable and responsive owner!

Beautiful cottage

The cottage is just as shown in the photos. Evertyhing is spotlessly clean. The towels and linens are new & fresh and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. My stay was very comfortable and relaxing. I especially enjoyed watching the wildlife across the channel -- baby geese, a heron, lots of birds, etc. Very peaceful!

A Wonderful Place to Spend Time

We spent the month of September at the property and feel we couldn't have found another which would meet our needs as well as this one. The location is excellent - located on the Coldwater Chain of Lakes. We didn't do any boating, but we loved being by the water. Outside deck is outstanding Everything we needed was provided and was of top quality. The hostess was great to work with.

Perfect

Athough the weather didn’t cooperate, the property was very nice. Cottage was very very clean, kitchen fully stocked with pans, utensils, tuperware etc and beds and pillows were very comfortable. Dock was easy to pull a boat up to and the kayaks in the shed were super fun. My husband and I stayed with our 11 yr old daughter and our dogs. Lot next to the cottage is theirs also and is great for taking the dogs out. Lovely place, beautiful decor and host was very responsive.

We had a wonderful experience vacationing here, 8/7-8/22, 2023. I am from Coldwater and grew up on Coldwater Lake but had not been back for a visit since 2016. The house was darling and accommodations included were generous! Rachel Gunn was available for consult at any time. No problems. Relaxing getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and comfortable. Our hostess was very responsive. Lovely community, quiet and friendly. We would have enjoyed more comfortable seating inside but the beds were super comfy. I loved the decore and everything was well stocked. We were disappointed on our last full day, as we planned to go kyaking but they treated the lake for algae and we could not get in the water but we still enjoyed our day. Definitely 5 stars.

Perfect getaway!

Amazing place to stay, everything was very clean and put together! Loved all the extra little things that I may have forgotten and they had some we were able to use. My husband was beyond excited to go kayaking, which he managed to find time to do between visiting with my family. Would fully recommend to anyone who wants to see the lakes and enjoy some coffee on the back deck! Can’t wait to go back!

Peaceful Vacation

Great Property, very quiet and peaceful to sit outside. Neighbors were very nice. The house was just the right size for us and very clean and stocked wonderfully. The boat dock was easy to get into and out of and right at our back door. Very relaxing vacation.

Relaxing retreat

Me and my family had a wonderful time at this rental. Lakefront was perfect, private but close to larger lakes for boating. jet ski, tubing etc. The pictures and description was spot on. Beds were so comfortable and the place was very clean and updated. Kitchen had everything you needed and even great storage containers for leftovers. Would definitely love to come back.

Lovely Stay!

The location was very nice. Lots of turtles and birds to observe. I would definitely recommend taking a boat, because the water is your entertainment.

Serenity!

This house is so well equipped and comfortable, you can just sit back and enjoy the view. Boat launching and docking was easy too, even for new boat owners like us. Host is great... super responsive!

Beautiful Spot on Lake

We had a wonderful time at the rental. Rachel was a wonderful host and always communicating when needed. The place is beautifully decorated and clean. There are plenty of toys to use at the house and we did take advantage of the lawn games and kayaks. There was a big storm that came through and we lost power for a bit but Rachel immediately provided updates when she found out. We still had fun playing all the games that were available in the house. Loved the place and location and hope to come back again!

Perfect lake cottage

We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our short family getaway. Perfect location on a quiet channel that was fairly easy to park & drive out our rented pontoon. The house was immaculate, inviting & bright. Loved the windows looking out to the channel & lake. And we could not beat having morning coffee out on the deck by the water. Rachel thought of everything. I left our dog’s water dish at home, and she had one available, along with extra dog food if we needed it. The place has a great side yard for pups & kids to play. We definitely plan on renting again next summer!

Great Experience

We had a great experience at Rachel's cottage on the channel. The cottage was very nice, extremely clean and well stocked. The area was great for golf. She made the check in process very easy and was available to answer many questions. We had an unfortunate mishap with our vehicle and Rachel went out of her way and help us in any way that she could We would definitely stay here again. She was a top notch hostess.

Lake heaven

We had a great time at the lake house. It was mostly my wife an myself. But some of our family came and we had a great time. The house is as advertised other than the lake view is much better in person. Host were great, very good communication. And I appreciate everything you told us about the property and the area. You instructions were very clear.

Bring Your Boat and Dogs!

This was the best rental I've stayed in and I am a frequent flier of vacation rentals around the state of Michigan! The hosts were so responsive even over the busy holiday weekend (Memorial Day). Rachel has done an amazing job with the interior & exterior decor - everything was cottage-chic and cozy. The house is right off East Long Lake but on a quiet canal. We brought a boat (able to dock it just steps outside the home) but even if you don't own one, it's a great spot for people watching and fishing. Kitchen was fully stocked with pans, utensils, Smore's stuff (there is a firepit & grill) and it's also 10min from several grocery stores, so if you need anything it's a quick trip. We were able to bring our doggies as well and the hosts stocked supplies for them too <3 There are also 2 desks with monitor setups, you could spend a week working remotely here and save some vacation time! Blown away by the hospitality & accommodations and will be returning!
