Great house for a family trip

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Reel Paradise. The views were spectacular, fishing was good, and the home was well kept and comfortable. The hosts are wonderfully friendly as well, and there were lots of personal touches that made it feel nicer than a hotel or bare bones rental. Having a dock available was a huge benefit for our fishing trip. We had plenty of room for 7 people (three kids), and there was a lot of space to hang out both inside and outside. Instructions were clear for check in, check out, property usage, etc. I gave 4 stars for listing accuracy, because the driveway was very steep and awkward to get into and the ramp down to the dock was very steep also. We were able to adjust, but it was kind of a surprise when we got there. These things are understandable based on the lay of the land, we just weren't super prepared for it because we weren't all that familiar with the area.

Relaxing

Just wanted a place to unwind for a few days. This place really offered that with a great view. The town its self was really nice and had some great places to eat. You don’t have to have a boat to enjoy this place! We will back for sure and look forward to it.

Get away vaca!

Loved it so much! The screened-in porch was my spot all week! We sat out there during the storm, the breeze was great and the rain on the water was beautiful. The views were amazing! We have put this place on our return list, definitely!

Vacation

Great place on the river, just off the channel. Parked the boat at the dock for the week right in front of the house. Gas available on the river, less than 1/2 mile away. The house was wonderful, use of the garage was also nice. Really enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Vacation Spot

There was a large group of us with 2 young kids, and we had a great time! Even though the river was high resulting in us leaving our boat at home, we still made the best of it. We brought a blow up pool and used it for the time being. The screened in porch was our absolute favorite as anywhere along the river is going to be buggy especially at nighttime. So we were able to enjoy the outdoors more and play a few card games around the patio table. Plus, the view is so beautiful and perfect spot to drink your morning coffee. Would most definitely stay again!!

Weekend away to ice fish and the guys could do so right off the dock and in that area. House was very nice, clean and we would definitely like to go back. Good communication with host. House had all the necessities. Definitely will recommend to family and friends.

Beautiful views

Lovely place to stay right on the river with wonderful amenities. Kitchen was well stocked, and all the communication with the owners was great. We could hear the trains but weren’t overly disturbed by them. We’ll definitely consider booking again for a future trip to Lansing!

This was a great house in a great location. The view of the river was great, and the short drive to Lansing's shops was helpful. John and Jane were great hosts. They were very responsive to requests and proactive in making sure we were taken care of as guests. We would stay here again.

Total enjoyment

We truly enjoyed this property. The views are spectacular. The property is clean and very comfortable. The hosts really want their renters to have the best time. They have many things to use at the property and were more than willing to give us ideas on places to go see and things to do. The one disappointment was that the fire pit didn't work. The trains are not too much of a bother. I would stay here again!

Great Stay

Very nice fully renovated. Everything was new inside and out. Nice location on the river, roughly a mile from downtown Lansing. Yes, the tracks are close, but I believe we only incurred a couple of trains the two evenings we stayed. We were away from the site during the days visiting family. Good soundproofing so train noise was minimal IMO. We planned for 8, but only had 6 in our family able to attend. 3 bdrms with queens, one bdrm had an additional day bed, and there was a roll-away style twin bed that we could have used in the common area. The description stated common area sleep sofa/futon. (That was the roll-away twin). We'd definitely stay here again.

The best family Christmas location!

The property was beautiful. Overlooking the frozen Mississippi River with snow on the bluffs, we watched people ice fishing. The house and amenities were perfect. Very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the town of Lansing with the little shops and a good pizza place! The kids had sleds and they spent two days sledding down the hill by the house. A good time was had by all!!!

Fantastic town, gorgeous location

We had such a great time at Reel Paradise! The sunsets & sunrises are unreal & the location right on the Mississippi River is gorgeous. We loved being able to see trains going by from the bed & from the sofas in the living room. The house is so cozy & was the perfect size for our 4-night Thanksgiving stay. The owners were very quick to respond when we had trouble with the keypad entry & it was resolved very quickly. They also gave us some great restaurant recommendations. Beautiful decor throughout, very comfortable beds, sofas & chairs, fully stocked kitchen, nice quality linens & towels. Also lots of storage space to hide our suitcases & stuff. The dock was really fun to walk on, although it was too cold to stay out there for very long. The town of Lansing is close enough to walk, although we usually drove, & it’s a charming downtown with excellent food & ambiance at Coffee on the River, good food at Shep’s (although it was really cold in there), & fun shopping on Main St. in Horsfall’s Variety stores (amazing prices!!) & Red Geranium (really soft scarves). We also enjoyed walking up Mt. Hosmer Park. We would love to come back during a warmer time, but even with cold temps, we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. We didn’t want to leave!!

Lovely Place on the Mississippi

We really enjoyed our time here. The views are amazing at all times of the day. We loved the outdoor patio space with the firepit and enjoyed the occasional train going by. (they were quieter than the vehicles on the road). The kitchen has all one could need. The house was very clean. The area is just beautiful. Hope to come back soon.
