About this property

New construction home on the chain of lakes in Alexandria - Welcome to Island Drive Inn!

This 4 bedroom (+ bunk room) and 3 bath house is ready for your family to have an amazing getaway. We have sleeping for 14 in 4 large beds and 6 bunk beds, plus a pack in play crib.

It's located on a large lot on the inlet of Lake Le Homme Dieu with access to everything the chain has to offer.

Everything is new! The open main level gives the whole family a chance to be together. Chill by the TV/Fireplace or enjoy a meal together. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area seats 14. Plus there is a gas grill for you to use.

A covered screened in deck with lots of seating gives you options for enjoying the view. The large rec room in the basement offers a wet bar and game table with lots of games provided. Watch TV by the fire or choose a book from our library.

You can walk out to the spacious yard to enjoy the patio, fire pit, sandbox, kayaks and lawn games. A dock is available for you to tie up your boat (or rent our pontoon). Parking for 4-5 cars or boat trailers. Please note: video monitoring is used on the outside of property only.

All the bedrooms have lots of closet space with hangers and a suitcase valet. The bathrooms are large with lots of towels provided. (just bring your own beach towels).

Pets are not allowed for short term rentals. A $500 fee will be charged if pets are brought to property. Only accepting 7 day rentals for July-August 2024 for now.

Pontoon is available to rent with daily or weekly rates directly from owner. Misty Harbor 22ft fishing pontoon with live well and depth finder. 60 hp engine not suitable for tubing or skiing. Seats up to 12 people. 2024 rates = $1350/week, $850/3 days, $350/day. (includes 1 tank of gas. Must refill tank.) Recommend reserving at time of booking.

Awesome Place to Relax

This home is great. It was very clean with a great layout, stocked with all you'll need and plenty of space with open areas so you can all be together. One of the big highlights for us was the screened in deck (no bugs!) with fans. It made it bearable to be outside when it was sweltering out even at night so we could enjoy the peace and quiet of the quiet neighborhood (it's not party cove, but our family group with young kids appreciated that). One thing to be mindful of so it doesn't ruin your trip is that the house is on an inlet. We were able to get our Wakesetter in there to the dock, but I was nervous enough to turn it off and paddle in at the entrance to the inlet then idle in the rest of the way. There were people fishing each morning in Rangers and Lund's reeling in bass, panfish and dogfish(?) so if you have an outboard you should be fine if you want to bring a boat back. There are also kayaks that our family enjoyed and it's a very calm area to check out turtles and frogs and everything. This wasn't a big deal for us, just be aware so you're not expecting a place where kids can splash in the water out front. If we end up going back to the area we will check this place first, I can't say enough good things about it. Owner was also very friendly and checked to make sure everything was good, which it was. I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with a stay there.

This was our family’s second trip and hopefully will not be our last to this beautiful home. The house is spacious, clean, user friendly and has so many great places to gather and enjoy relaxed family time. We especially love the large screened in porch and it’s lovely view.

Resorters get away

This was a great property for our two family’s with college aged girls that play in Resorters each year. It was clean quiet and well kept. They have a pontoon to rent also. A storm came through and did minor damage the owners fixed it immediately. The house is on an inlet to the lake so you have great access and good views from the house. It would not be ideal for dock swimming otherwise we have stayed in many places over our time playing up there. I would highly recommend this place.

Clean and spacious

We really enjoyed this vacation home. Many only have 2 bathrooms so we really appreciated the 3rd bathroom. We took our boat, not realizing that the dock is on an inlet just off the lake. It was too shallow for our boat. Public ramp is close. Still great views and connected to the lake. Fishing off the dock & kayaks were kid favorites. Probably wouldn’t jump in the water off the dock. We loved the screened in deck and spent most of our time outdoors or at the game table in the basement. It’s also close to town for meals or the store.

Perfect set-up

By popular request from our adult kids and grandkids, we returned to this house near Alexandria. The house is so user friendly. We take turns preparing meals, and the kitchen is very accommodating to multiple cooks. The two floors gives us a little space when needed. We LOVE the screened-in porch: the one-year-old who just started to walk played hoops out there for hours, and the little girls screamed every time they spotted geese. This house is in a lovely neighborhood on the lake, but within 10 minutes of Eldon's Fresh Foods, Carlos Creek Winery, Shenanigans indoor playground (great rainy day activity), and the beach. We hope that we can return.

Home away from home

We stayed here last year and it was fabulous as I have reviewed before. But this year… wow!! This year a complete screened in porch was added and what a surprise that was. It turned out to be the highlight of the trip. As you will see the deck is now even better!! There is easy access to town and nearby towns like glenwood for wine tasting and shopping. You will probably find hard to find things you were looking to buy in the Alexandria stores. Boating and fishing everyday and sight seeing. Loons, pelicans, blue herons are all present. What a great vacation area and house to stay at. The pontoon was amazing also.

Great stay- amazing house and location

This is a fantastic house and location. Everything described in the listing is accurate. The house was spotless when we arrived and check in was very easy. There are all the kitchen amenities you can ask for. Blender. 2 coffee pots (one Keurig with plenty of coffee). Grill tools that work!! Sharp knives and Clean pots and pans. Everything was clean and in great working order. Nice to have a kitchen well stocked. The sleeping arrangements worked perfectly. We had 4 kids sleeping in the bunk beds and all adults got their own room. The location is quiet with amazing views of the sun setting. You’ll get some great sun in the afternoons off the back deck. Kids used the kayaks all weekend off the dock and we also rented the boat for some time on the lake. This is the best VRBO we’ve booked and can’t recommend it enough. Communication with owners was great and quick. If you want a wonderful house with people that care about your stay- this place has to be your stay. Thanks very much. We’ll definitely be back.

Weekend get away

Beautiful home and great for a family get away. Had a variety of board games and plenty of space for everyone together for a game night. Host was very informative, friendly and prompt. Would definitely recommend to others and would return if we are staying in the area.

Fantastic Home

This was a great rental for our group of families. The kitchen is very well stocked with almost everything you might need to make a meal. Beds were very comfortable and the layout of the home was great to get together or go to your separate areas when you wanted to. The kids loved the bunk bed room! Our group loved the kayaks (a couple more would have been ideal) and fishing was great right off the dock. Homeowner is very responsive and easy to work with. We would definitely rent this place again!

Had a great time!

My husband and I and three grown children and their spouses and 4 young children enjoyed our stay. Everyone had a bedroom and the older kids enjoyed the bunk beds. The house was clean and was as pictured on website. It was very roomy and the open kitchen and large fridge was a great place to cook! Some of us took advantage of kayaking and many fish were caught right off the dock. The campfire area was also enjoyable!
