Shipwreck Cottage, visit Mackinaw then retreat 30 mins down US-23 to your cottage. Wonderful log and knotty pine interior, clean, solid vinyl and ceramic floors thru out. Spacious bathrooms, great showers... ideal accommodations for 2 pairs of adults, featuring a LARGE Master Bedroom with 2 single size roll away beds overlooking the lake. Another large bedroom with King Size bed and night stands overlooking the lake. 2nd story common area features a Queen sized bed, and futon couch, writing desk with Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw motif, high speed WIFI!!

Right on Lake Huron with 470ft of beachfront. Steelhead fishing right off the beach, or wander up the river for small trout stream with your spinning rod, stream runs thru the entire 18 acre property with its mouth right on the beachfront.

Enjoy the family charter service for Glass Bottom Boats and kayaking over Shipwrecks in town.

Nearby property there is a shipwreck right off shore and Glass bottom boats tours to view the shipwrecks leaving out of the Cheboygan River. Michigan Harbor of Refuge with launch ramp, nice docks, break wall to walk out in Lake Huron, lots of pure sand beach! Another DNR launch is available at Ocqueoc River for fisherman, and the Falls and picnic area for family wading and fun.

Downtown Cheboygan is about 10 minutes north.

Rock picking and stream exploring

This home was just perfect size and beds for the grandparents, parents, uncle and 3 grandchildren. We wish we could have stayed longer. Just wish one bedroom would be downstairs. But we did good with rails on both sides of the steps.

Majestic stay!

This was prob the only home in the UP where I’ve actually enjoyed every bit of my vacation. I loved the convenience of everything and all the surrounding beaches. Yes there’s pebbles on the property but my toddlers had so much fun skipping rocks and enjoyed the sandy parts. We did some catch and release and caught a couple bass. The people of this town are so nice and welcoming. Even though there’s no AC the cottage stays pretty fresh. It got up to 90 when we were there and it was fine! We will def visit again! We got to roast marshmallows in the fire pit and enjoy evenings under the stars. We even got to see the northern nights it was so majestic and one in a lifetime experience.

Spectacular

The property is gorgeous with breathtaking views of Lake Huron. It's your own private island. All the pictures the host has included are on the property, which I did not realize when we booked for the week. It is much more beautiful than the pictures tell. We had so much fun exploring. The cabin is new and very comfortable- great beds and showers! Our year old and 5 year old grandkids spent much time playing in the little "Harry Potter" closet. I don't know how anyone could rate this extraordinary property less than 5 stars. We loved it!

Amazing view from the property

Well described. Great communication from the owner. We’ve stayed at waterfront homes on all the Great Lakes. This was our last Great Lake to stay on. And it was BY FAR the best view and best water access. Me and my kids love to swim in the Great Lakes. This was the first one that had a direct and easy path to the lake. The shoreline was pristine with plenty of shoreline ands tons of privacy. Once in the water, there were large rocks. But that’s to be expected at a natural shore in the Great Lakes. Go out 30 feet and it’s easy walking and only about 3 feet deep. Take some swim masks. The underwater view is TOTALLY worth getting past the bigger rocks. Wear water shoes and it’ll be perfectly fine. The house is perfectly situated. Once you pull down the drive and close the gate behind you. You’re all alone. The gate makes you feel better knowing it’s there. You can hear the road from the house, but you can’t see it at all. The house is perfectly described by the owner. I would 100% recommend this anyone who asked. It was a total disconnect from the crazy world. We will definitely be back.

Family vacation

Our two sons and their families were with us. The house is very beautiful. Absolutely loved the seclusion. Loved sitting on the swing on the back patio. Actually I was lucky enough to see an eagle. The kids had great fun on the beach looking for special rocks and digging in the sand. The fire pit area was great with a very nice table for the marshmallows and chocolate and graham crackers! I loved the stove! The showers were fantastic. The family had a great time!

Wonderful Stay in Northern Michigan!

Beautiful location right on Lake Huron for our family. We loved having no neighbors close by. We enjoyed bonfires almost every night in a beautiful spot right near the water. The house and grounds were clean, the owners respond quickly to any questions, overall great experience. If we vacation to this area again we would definitely stay here.

Shiprock Cottage

Location is outstanding, rocky shore of Lake Huron, able to see sunrise and sunset. The dining room table with bench seating accommodated 8 people comfortably(5 adults and 3 children). Love getting up to see sunrise with a cup of tea. We saw spectacular sunrise and sunset. They did forecast for Northern lights, it didn’t happened. If it did, this would be an ideal location for it. Took a canoe out for leisure on a calm day, it was fabulous to see the shoreline. Bring viewing device to watch ship traffic. If you want a sandy beach this is not the location. The bathrooms was spacious, one on main other on 2nd level. Awesome fire pit locate near the beach. We did not mind the lime stones in the driveway and walk path to the beach. A visible address would be helpful; when the gate is opened, unable to see it. We asked Rob if we can take our travel trailer; with permission, we took our 25ft Airstream, plenty of room for parking, turn around, set up and felt very private. Excellent camper parking, electric hookup, and we camped comfortably the entire week. The host, Rob was very attentive to our needs. Family members brought fishing gears, to fish on the creek; it was not ideal during our stay, July 8-14th, low water level. We still had a great time and would return.

Nothing to offer but a view

The house is nice enough and the view is beautiful, but that’s it. You can look at the lake but you can’t go in it without risking major injury. The lake bottom is nothing but slippery basketball sized rock all the way up to the shoreline with no space to safely step. To make things worse the owner paved the walkway to the beach and all around the property with small sharp stones that were uncomfortable to walk on even with water shoes. It was especially not good for our dog to walk on. We actually left half way thru our stay before someone got hurt.

Nice Secluded Lakefront Property

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. The home is nicely laid out and decorated, and looks as great in person as it does in the listing. We really enjoyed the lakefront access and the little stream. Cheboygan is less than 15 minutes away and features some great food options and some grocery stores for supplies.

Peaceful Getaway

We had 2 families for a total of 11 people staying at the house. The 2 bedrooms worked out great for the parents and the loft was a great area for the kids to hang out. The views were beautiful. It was fun looking for neat rocks on the beach and the kids had so much fun playing by the creek. We would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.

Amazing place and great owner

The cabin could not be in a more picturesque setting. The house, the view everything was perfect. My family and I had a blast staying there over the holidays. I am from Michigan but i now live in Texas and it was my kids first time "up north" as us Michiganders put it. We got lucky in that we had snow the whole time we were there. We enjoyed sledding on the owners property across the street, we built a snowman, we drove to Mackinaw city to meet friends. It was just a great trip and the house is so clean and it is great having a washer and dryer especially since the airlines lost our luggage and we had minimal clothes for five days. Rob is really responsive and very helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you!

Beautiful property, private, amazing views, highly recommend.

My family and I had an amazing experience. We enjoyed the sunset, went walking throughout the property with the dogs and late night bonfires near the water on private property. We enjoyed fishing and the homeowner was very good at responding, answering any questions and giving recommendations. Will do this again.

Beautiful Trip

The house is large and expansive for our 4 adults and 3 kids. Very clean, nice amenities. We took the canoe our day one and played in the water just steps from the back door. Mackinaw island is just 30 mins away and we spent day 2 there. The last day we enjoyed taking hikes on the property across the street and the creek that flows through out. Will be booking again!!

Excellent Vacation Cottage

This was the perfect cottage for our family of 6. Scenery was absolutely gorgeous and the cottage was in a great location. We visited Petosky and Mackinac island while staying and had a great time in both spots. We’ll definitely rent this cottage again.

Great Stay!

My family and I had a wonderful trip to this incredible property. The setting and the home are amazing. Loved canoeing on the lake and enjoying time around the fire. Enjoyed the outings to local state parks for hiking! A wonderful adventure with lots of great memories.

Lake House Vacation

Great stay with friends and kids. The house was well equipped with all necessities for making our week stay comfortable. The property was private and expansive. The rocky beach was perfect to relax on a hot day. Very close to many attractions, Mackinac island, Ocqueoc falls, and 40 mile point lighthouse. Our group enjoyed the the fire pit each evening by the beach. Would recommend in the future.

Shipwreck Cottage…Anything But a Wreck

We just returned home from our stay at the spectacular Shipwreck Cottage. We were beyond thrilled with the location, layout, cleanliness and gorgeous lake views. The cottage is surrounded by nature and offers walks on the beach, strolls in the canoe, hikes along the creek and of course s’mores on the campfire! You can stay there and relax or if you chose to explore, it is just a short drive to Cheboygan, Mackinaw and the Ocqueoc Falls. Rob was a great host with excellent communication and we would highly recommend staying here!

Best vacation spot

Best vacation stay ever! This was our home away from home. The cabin has a homey interior with everything you need. The beds were comfy & we had enough room for 10 people. Picturesque views, indoors & outdoors. We hiked, swam, canoed, sat by the fire & enjoyed the night sky. Rob was an EXCELLENT host. Hoping to come back again!

Great lakeside family retreat

Beautiful new construction on the shores of Lake Huron. We enjoyed perfect views of the lake, freighters going by, and amazing sunsets! S’mores at the fire and rock hunting on the beach with the kids made for great memories. The house is beautifully decorated, with high ceilings, and light wood walls throughout. It comfortably slept 8 people upstairs with a variety of beds. There are two full bathrooms that are nice and clean with great water pressure, tall shower heads, and a hand sprayer. You can sit and watch the sunset on the wooden swing bench on the porch. This was a great property and wonderful family vacation that we would definitely do again. It’s a quiet, peaceful retreat that served as a great home base while exploring the region and upper peninsula.
